  1. Boy this is getting nasty! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> But I have to agree with OS91, Christopher is getting letters from BIG schools, and I really can't say about Gleason beating 3 elite teams with A COMBINED??? 63 points? Whats that mean? No SILVER won't turn to GOLD but when its DESERVING its all the same!! Is Miss Basketball as political as it seems? Any comments on that question? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  2. You know my coach in High School was a defensive coach and always said defense wins games as I'm sure everyone on the High School level will agree and so do I. The well rounded player has got to be a defensive player as well as she can score. You have made an excellent reply and point. As for the girl you are talking about I haven't seen her play so talk about her some more and where is she going to college. Now when you get to college most coaches are all about scoring. They try to say defense but get right down to it , the go to girl is an offensive player unless she can block 20 shots a game. What do you think? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" My thinking face! One more point to make on an all rounded player is: She has to see the floor and know where she is and also her team mates. She has to be able to make the pass too, when needed. They also need a basketball smart that just comes naturally. Personal opinion of course.

  4. I've seen them all play and Glory is the best hands down. She's already on a college level and could go anywhere and start D1. Angela and Kayla C. are next on the list. They are the ones that are gonna keep on improving. Kayla H really doesn't need to work on her free throws cuase we all know she's got them down pat. I don't think there is a player that great can be seperated from single A to triple A. You're either good or not it doesn't depend on the size of the school. I think bashing these girls is ridiculous, they're all good and one of them may be better at one thing and the other is better at the next. As for an all around player, just go watch Glory, cause she is the real deal otherwise the Pat wouldn't be watching her. I don't think that it matters that her son goes there either. I do agree that an all around player is what the D1 coaches are looking for. So for the ones that were left out on this post, I just mentioned the ones that were already mentioned. One person from one county will think that their best player is the best and vise versa, now just sit back from an outside point of view and then put it together and try to find the best, not just because thy are from your district. All of the girls have a great future ahead of them. I just hope that they can be great ladies and leaders for our future!!!! I didn't go to far on the exclamation pionts did I??
  5. Since the post is entirely a rumor, I would say Coach T did the correct thing by locking it. Now I agree with the post on there about what are we teaching our kids by moving them to play at a specific school.(Not exactly the correct wording but the meaning is clear) There has got to be a line that we as a parent and a fan of basketball that we can't cross. Like going out and recruiting to get the great players to come to our schools. What about education? What about the moral values we need to instill in these kids??? Can't we just accept that there are players that come from a family that has instilled all these things in them?? But on the other hand great players just has to LOVE to PLAY the GAME, like alot of us that have played and still cannot get enough of it. We will love the game until we die!!!! But the competition of the game plays a big part also, and the kid thats playing has that also, don't you think??? Look at the girls that just finished playing at the State, I know several players that took 2 or 3 days off and are back in the gym, at it on THEIR OWN. That shows that they are the Ball Players that most coaches would kill for! They're wanting to get better and also get prepared for AAU, but it says alot for those girls and guys that are doing it, so lets tip our hats to those kids that are doing that. WHAT ABOUT IT???
  6. This is craziness!!! these girls are all deserving! When I read this thread I was not going to reply, but it IS an HONOR to even have your name in Miss Basketball. Freshman or Senoir. If you are talented enough to be honored then so be it. Is it political?? Probably! But all these girls have to be really good to be mentioned. Glory is the real DEAL. Just look at whos recruiting her. What about Delk? Ferris is a Freshman, but people go see her because of her height and numbers. Is she deserving? Probably. Will she go home with the award? We all will find out soon. She will play college somewhere and more than likely the others will also, and ya know they all deserve to, because they are GREAT players. The next question is will they get an education to further them in life like they need? I sure hope so, cause as women they need something to fall back on when their carrers are over, and as they start families in the future they probably are gonna need their educations for the money for their own kids careers! Hopefully their kids can have the same opportunities that they've had! Good Luck girls, too bad you all can't have the title, you all are deserving b/c it really is an honor to be nominated!!!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  7. ITS MARCH MADNESS!!!!! Anything can happen! As a B Ball fan everyone knows that ! Good luck to all the teams, they are deserving to even get this far don't ya think? But lets see if Jim Brown and Lamar have their teams peaking when they need to be. The season doesn't matter now its buried and died! Its TOURNAMENT time in Tennessee!!! When the players walk in to the gym at the Center it's gonna depend on what player shows up, because the girls are just kids and its nerve wracking just to be there. Its also over whelming to go on the court and be able to play at the STATE. Nothing in the season prepares them for the big one. A prediction of the number 1 team can go and play in the first round and come home. And on the other hand they can win as predicted! So lets give them ALL a congratulatory and wait for the outcome!!! To all the players that wind up at the Boro congrats and play for a Great Memory!! As far as the coaches, same to ya, you've probably had to contend with alot of stuff thrown at you during the season, but its behind you!! Focus on the NOW!!! Good Luck to all who are there in the end, gotta get thru tonight first!!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  8. Kayla plays AAU at Shelbyville with the Insells coaching her team, and they have alot of faith in her as a player just like the others on her team. Any of them can step up and get the job done. They have been to the Nationals for several years and have gone to the Sweet 16, if I'm not mistaken. Go watch her play and you'll see how she stacks up against the big players. As far as the small school goes, OZ has produced alot of good ball players, doesn't mean they can't compete. The players do not get the attention that the larger schools get, thats why the smaller schools need more input to the papers from the reporters. No offense to any one just stating the facts. But back to the original statement, she really can play!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  9. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Kayla deserves her reward, its hard work that gets a sophmore to the polint to where she is. Keep up the hard work and keep on hustling hard!! Congrats Kayla!! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  10. You are correct in supporting all the teams in the area. If one or ten go then support them, even if your team goes a long way also. Thats the way it should be. I love to see a graet team play that plays together well and most of the people who really know their stuff like to se it also agreed?
  11. I think that you are right obout OZ! I hope that the team will be peaking around March Madness. With Smith gone and Kelsey Hall playing do you think that they will still be a contender? Hall and Christopher have played all their young lives together and you know that if you have, you react to each other in a way that no one else can. You know what the other one will do in certain situations and no one can know that unless they have played together alot. With the other team mates, will there be confusion or not? But if you're a good ball player you just know and it doesn't take long to figure it out! Anyway good luck to coach and them LADY CATS this year!!
  12. OK so maybe the word is contained instead of stopped,but...there is no comparison in a guard and a post player. Have you ever saw the girl from Anderson County go from one end of the floor and go all the way with a defensive girl on her and score all the time? Just like Christopher can't hardly post up on a 6 footer, without getting it blocked. No negative comments to either girl, just an observation and to answer your question, I played college ball and been around it ALL my life. What are your credentials? And are you trying to tell me that there are not many 6 footers around that play ball?? Almost every team has a big girl, thats not to say that there are as many as small as Christopher, but both girls can play and I personally would like to see them on the same team, but???? on one hand there's a speed factor, wonder who would make it down the floor first to score??? Just a thought to consider. This post is not to put anyone down, just a friendly conversation about ball!!! So don't be so ugly or defensive on the comments made by a member OK? Most of the time you have to have both size girls to make a team agreed?
  13. I've saw both Faith and Kayla play B.ball all summer and if anyone knows B.ball you know that you can not compare a pt. guard,2, or 3 guard to a post player. First of all they're both excellent ball players in their positions, but whose overall stats are the best??? In order to compare any player to each other you have to take in cosideration all stats. Not just on the offensive end. The steals, the assists, the blocked shots, etc... You are right, if Faith ever decides to go to OS, the coach, the girls on the team, and the State Tourney would be in for a great time!! The two together would be EXPLOSIVE!!! To me trying to pick the best freshman is crazy. Try picking 10 instead of one. The thought of a best ball player is everything included,(stat wise) and how they just play the game overall in general. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion and in order to pick the best freshman, you'd have to watch everyone of them in Tennessee and who can do that???????HaHa! I would hate to have to pick a team that consists of all freshmen. There is a group of girls from middle Tn, that are among the list also!! By the way, anyone one ball player can be stopped if you have the defensive people to put on them!! Sure you can put points on the board, but if you have a good defensive person to put on the person, they can be STOPPED!!! Doesn't matter who that person is!!
