  1. Ashame these young men lay it all out on the mine give their heart and soul for 3 referees to decide the game. Watertown is a very talented team but they were not the best team tonight! Nothing but proud of the blue devils. Sad for the seniors to have to go out like that. But I will have to say it was the best 5-8 game I've ever seen!

  2. The Senator was a mentor to me when I played and a dear dear friend after I was long graduated! Always had a smile and some sort of basketball talk for ya! The Upper Cumberland definitely lost a fine gentlemen. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family!

  3. Being a former player and now baseball official, I have seen first hand the tranformation. I will always cheer silently for my alma mater, but I always welcome the opportunity for good baseball. Congrats to these kids as well as the rest of the seniors in the district who have put in their blood, sweat and tears for four years.

  4. I have tremendous respect for Coach Bibb! My grandpa never missed a home Tech game when Mr. Bibb was a player and I was fortunate enough to watch him at Tennessee Tech. Was not so fortunate to have to play against his teams. Since graduating, have had the opportunity to become acquainted with him. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Always goes out of his way to speak to you. With that said, whoever gets this guy for a coach will be landing themselves a fine fine coach! He's so passionate about the game. He can take a team with the least amount of talent and turn them into winners. I always used to ask him, "How's ball looking this year Mr. Bibb?" and he'd reply "Gonna be tough, we got a bunch of young guys. We will be lucky to win 10 games." And those teams always seem to find their way to the district/region champ games. Very fine man and PC will miss him dearly! Good luck to Mr. Bibb where ever he may go.

  5. This was a similar case when I graduated in 06, only JC, Clay, and Monterey were near evenly talented and nobody was a clear favorite. Monterey had Horton who won pitcher of the year, Celina had Campbell who could've just as easily won pitcher of the year, instead he won player of the year and JC's top 4 hitters were batting over .440. Monterey ended up the season 1st, Clay 2nd and JC 3rd and I think that was the deciding factor for pitcher of the year . . MVP voting was very close though. Drew ended up beating me by one vote. Coaches notice a good hitter. I still think, even though JC gets pitcher of the year, that Ragland should get the award.

  6. Just to shake things up a bit . . looks like FCS isn't untouchable . . Gordonsville stole one from them at their place which is a team JC has already beaten earlier this year . . Looks like things are gonna be a little different this go around.

  7. Big win for JC . . Livingston always has a good program! Saw LA play Smith Co monday and they hit the ball very well . . Its definitely a momentum builder for the Blue Devils . . Keep it young men!

  8. What exactly is Coach Bush's coaching specialty? I have heard he played ball at Freed-Hardeman. Anyway it is great to see someone closer to the boy's age here. He seems to provide a great coaching mentality, as well as someone the boys can connect with. Good luck to JC in their upcoming tournament in Athens, TN. Let's start the season 3-0

I'm not sure if he has an "expertise" but yes he did play at Freed-Hardeman and he was an exceptional player at Cookeville. He will be definitely be a valuable asset as an assistant!

As for Monterey, I haven't heard the scouting report on them yet. They will definitely not be a team easily de-throned. Got to love the spring time!

  9. Van Buren had some pitchers that were throwin pretty hard as well. . Had some control issues but when they were there JC was puttin it in play . . 3 hr's in 2 games is really good for the baseball around this area. . Saw Driver and Broyles go deep against VB . . All these young men looked loose and Coach King seemed as excited as I'd ever seen him. . I think with the addition of Mr. Bush as an assistant JC has a bright bright future! He's a very respectful young man and knows the game of baseball as well as anyone! And NO Cookeville you can't have Coach Bush he bleeds blue now! Lol

  10. I agree with you JC has a very good chance to give Coach King his first district championship! Coach Looper will not let that be done easily though. . I can only hope I will be able to make it to a few more games this year! :popcorneater: I hope HAMMER has the boys in blue ready for a good season! JC baseball has come a very long way from years ago! Glad I got to be a part of it! Good luck to the young men in the boro and the rest of the district!

  11. This was a great game to watch! 2 things hurt JC . . Ball pressure seemed to get to them in the fourth. . LA caused some turnovers which led to some scoring spurts . . and 2. . TIMEOUTS! Flynn desperately needed a couple extra to slow the momentum and only had one left . . GREAT game though. . enjoyed the company Big Daddy its always a pleasure to talk ball with you!

  12. LOL its sad I haven't been to a single game this year and yet I still like to put my .02 in when its not necessarily needed . . Coach Brown does a good job keeping his team humble . . Oh yeah and he seems to be doing pretty well in the W department as well . . . I'm excited to watch young Jaycee and Hope develop over the next few years . . Good luck to the Lady Devils .:thumb:.

  13. Could he be you??

HA! Are you calling me an old man? LOL!. . I was a former opponent of devilfanatic's oldest son . . I feel honored be considered one in the same as such a skilled ambassador of the game like Mr. Fanatic himself . . It's good to see Jordan is following is his big brother's foot steps . . Hopefully he can lead them all the way to boro . . Oh and devil hope all is well with your old man haven't been able to make it down to a game to check up on him!

  14. I think JC is right where they want to be . . It seems they are flying in under the radar and having one of their best seasons in a decade . . Which is not good for the rest of single A seeing that they do not have a senior on the team . . I think this is good for the girls . . they have always had a target on their back and laying low and still having a state championship caliber season may take some pressure off. . I could be wrong but it just seems that nobody really has anything to say about them . . especially not as much as in years past . . Either way good luck to the lady blue devils . . hope jaycee gives her daddy a run for his scoring title in the family
