  1. Oh ok, my bad. To be quite honest Meigs has the best skill players right now that they've had in probably 4 or 5 years.
  2. Must be. Good luck to Notre Dame, if you cant find the school just look for the Watts Bar Dang. Its around there somewhere.
  3. So what your sayin is Meigs tried to give Central the game and the baby blue still couldnt get it done? Did they not want to take it? Was it just too much for them? Had they taken it would they have just wrapped it up and regifted it? Two fumbles isnt giving them the game, and hey, maybe we knew thatwas going to be the only way to keep it interesting. Dame isnt a curse word.
  4. First of all, Central doesnt make it TO the first round. The thing you have to remember is that the macon region is in a more populated area, right outside metro Nashville if i'm not wrong. A lot of the 3-3a teams are out in the boonies, in fact outside of ND, Howard, and East Ridge the schools arent in very populated areas. True the sizes are the same except for the teams that moved up from 2a, but I think the location matters as well. The Macon region has some very good teams, but I think this one does too. And I'm sure none of the Macon region teams will take them as a joke this November.
  5. Lets not forget the last Irish visit to Meigs, 27-26 ND in 2 overtimes by literally a foot. I look for this one to be as close. Just curious but how is it a disadvantage that Meigs is the only high school in their county? I would think that beneficial since all the students from that county go there and not to another school. Just curious.
  6. They played with little emotion after the first half in a game they could have won. Not very tough, offense has bright spots, but not many. Athletically they look like they would wipe the floor with any team in our region. They can play pretty sound defense....when they want to that is. Overall, dont let them catch you sleepin but if your awake they shouldnt be too tough. They're young and in a few years they'll be decent.
  7. It wouldnt surprise me if ND did win but I cant see them winning by "at least" 3 TD's. I think this one will be much closer than that.
  8. Coach J I think this year its too early to be looking foreward any week past this one. I like the analysis, especially the upset, but its still too early to tell.
  9. Both teams have good defenses. Meigs has an edge on offense in the running game and will cut back on fumbles. ND's QB looked good against Howard but they werent really able to keep the ball moving and sustain drives. Meigs 27 ND 21 and best of luck to Coach Wiggins, real good coach.
  10. Your right, it is football season. Maybe you should remind centrals players that.
  11. Derrik Davis does a great job in Polk Co, and this is coming from a Meigs fan. Keep up the good work Coach D.
  12. Yes, it is out of reach. Central will finish behind tellico when region play is over. Hey if you dont think they got physically dominated thats fine, but I'd sure like to know what they were thinkin lyin there waitin on the trainer. Central gave up. 7-0 at halftime and they dony score until the fourth quarter against the Meigs reserves? Now this week will be a barn burner, can Central beat Sequoyah? And remember, this time they're playing outside with a football, so the answer is no. Different day, different year, same results. The Decade of Dominance. Sorry TheEmpire but you'll have to catch up with Meigs to use that phrase regarding W-L vs Central. If you want I'll help you come up with one, I'm suer the two of us can come up with a doosy.
  13. Oh they will. At the Meigs vs. Central game there were at least 100 sherrifs deputies there. In all seriousness I think I saw at least 7 officers. Sure would've been a good night for a bank robbery.
  14. I know, and I was wrong, I was thinking of the Polk QB. Scott Wells is the kid from ND that came in and got the offens going. Neither team seemed to fare that well though except on defense, but that just what i've heard.
  15. I heard it was a very good game until Cain came in and took over.
  16. Good point. This one comes down to match up problems on the outside. Last year Meigs was successful through the air and with a better running game this year I think they will fare pretty well. Key match-up: Tigers recievers vs. Irish secondary. The Tigers have about 4 or 5 guys that run good routs, find an open spot, and can elevate to the ball and make the catch in traffic. Other key areas: depth and experience. Meigs will have to, as usual, play with 15-17 players out of a roster of forty. It wont be as bad this year because ND was hit hard by graduation. This is 21's Region 3-3a Game of the Week.
  17. This mans got his heart right and knows what he's talkin bout.
  18. Theres no way. Polk wins a close one 21-13 or somewhere along those lines. This isnt the same Tellico as in recent history. This year the Bears are experienced up front and in the backfield and from what I've seen are very capable of playing good, solid defense. If you look at the two schools this year their schemes are almost identical: use what athletes you've got to play defense and smashmouth football, relying on your athletes to turn 3 yards runs into 30 yard runs. This could be a good game IF TELLICO SHOWS UP.
  19. Of course Centrals students stayed off the field, they lost. Thats like saying some one didnt eat when they werent hungry. I dont think the Meigs fan should've done that, he really didnt have a right to. Instead I think some of the Meigs players should've posed with the flag in the middle of the field like the old war picture, I forget what the battle was but all the soldiers were raising the flag on the hill. That would've made a good picture, plus since they played they had a right to. As far as the game being close, I'm sure Central knew they lost. At least five players were down after big hits. Thats the character of a football player that I like to see, the ones that get hit and just lay down (sarcasm). Thats what I meant when I said they got dominated, especially in the second half. Central has a long way to go before they can compete in this region. P.S.-Read the signiture.
  20. The only brawl will be McMinn Central's football team fightin to make it out of the game in one piece. Meigs knocked Central around and I was disappointed in how they reacted, layin there not wantin to get up. And this is supposed to be a program on the up-and-up??? I can assure you Polk Co. will hit them just as hard and the baby blue will lay down just as long. Meigs vs. Notre Dame this week will be a good measuring stick of how the rest of the season will play out in the region. But no matter who wins a lot of crazy things could happen between now and week 10. My guess: T-1: Polk T-1: Meigs 3: ND 4: Howard Comes down to week 7 in Decatur.
  21. Oh, my mistake, i just saw fullbacks and linebackers and assumed it was the other two. sorry.
  22. Smith an Latham are both hurt? How, when, outlook for the rest of the season?
  23. Dont count out ND yet, the defending champs arent out of the running. So Lambert, how does this one play out? I'm sure you have a plethora (my coach taught me that word back in the day) of reasons why Meigs wont win.
