Rummor has it in warrior country that coach rankin has already turned in his retirement papers. This is not surprising seeing that the warriors see to be headed down hill. SO the question now is who will fill his shoes next year. Does tom nolan keep it in the family or does he go out and bring a new coach in. Rummors also say that if it stays in the family coach greg wyant will take over as head coach. currently he is the "offensive Coordinator" but everyone involved in rhs football knows when it comes down to it coach rankin calls the plays and makes the lineups. So what exactly does coach wyant do over at rhs? well its simple he does fund rasiers but when it come down to coaching football he doesnt do much of anything. He has no position to coach so he basically just follows coach rankin around like a lost puppy. The Riverdale football program is already on the decline it doesnt need greg wyant slowing it down. Another name for the job "outside the family" is ron crawford. crawford coached at riverdale for years as the defensive Coordinator before taking over the head coaching position at brentwood where he won a state championship his first year as coach. These are probably the two main coaches are being looked at to fill rankin's shoes. From being a supporter of riverdale football i would first hope coach rankin would stay. But if he doesnt coach crawford would be a great replacement. However if mr. nolan wants to keep it "in the family" why dont we consider the good hardworking coaches that know what they are doing on the staff. Such as Coach Steve Britton or Coach Matt Gardner. These are two great coaches and just all around good people that care not only about winning but also about the kids on the team. Unlike some coaches but im not going to name any names (G.W.).
