Greatone, Mr Becker, in local paper stated that this pool was better than last time! Laughable! IMO Perry would be disaster at GHS and if certain people are involved it will NOT happen! Surely he is not the best you  got! He can't get out of MT JULIET fast enough, knows whats coming and he will NOT beat Crabtree and BEECH! Looks like more of same! Some mistakenly think that last name  means you can coach, I know many at Wave would not welcome this and many Bears who would like to help him pack! Question is whether Becker will let him have all he wants and if so its doom and gloom for other sports at the school! Just my opinion!

Wow, my bad. Thought he did pretty dang good job this year. 6A State Championship was played at MJ this year. I sure all you G experts know best.

Oh man, it seems every year that passes, it just means a new Wilson Central hopeful troll comes along. With unrealistic expectations... like beating Mount Juliet. Youd have better luck winning the powerball to be quite honest. Mount Juliet is going to come out strong and be consistent for 4 quarters. Something Wilson Central hasn't been able to do. An example of a real rivalry game would be Mount Juliet vs Gallatin because Gtown actually plays the series pretty even. Wilson Central is just the ugly stepchild of Wilson County and we're forced to play and beat them. Not much of a rivalry to me. Go Bears!

  3. Wow, not sure what game you were watching or maybe it's just your ignorant lack of football knowledge. Oakland ran a single back and empty backfield all night and when they did have two backs in the backfield it was a I with a split out. And no one ever said the wing T ruined Riverdale. It has been the author that brought the wing T to Riverdale that has ruined the program. Hopefully we will see his resignation soon as expected. And besides, there have been a few times over the past years where that winged T ran all over Oakland. I'd be careful to boost too quickly as we all know things in this county can change very quickly. BTW...you can buy Football 101 at any book store..

Oh........the other Riverdale moron........Oakland uses a wildcat look a lot; his blocks are all wing-t. You need "Football for Dummies"......you know the yellow book. You are one pitiful creep!

  4. Well this is shaping up to be an old fashioned tail whipping. Congratulations Oakland.

R'dale players, you have our Thanks and respect for giving it your all this year.

I thought you have always said that it was that crappy old-fashioned offense (Wing-T) was what was killing Riverdale..........you were right!! The Wing-T did kill Riverdale last night........Oakland was running it unfortunately. What a tool!!

  5. Now judging by your sarcasm, you sound disgruntled towards coach harp for some reason? Please share your reason for your dislike towards whoever for whatever. This should be interesting.

Not disgruntled towards Harp at all...........just a semi-sarcastic chuckle about the "back to the drawing board" comment of yours in a previous post. Harp is probably a pretty good coach; he had awfully good record in KY, but that translates to squat in TN without the players to "DRAW" with. Lebanon has been down for a good 5-6 years (mystery to me as why), and in spite of the magical powers a coach of Harp's status is purported to have. Lebanon might win vs Antioch; that would be 3 wins vs very weak teams............*note Harp scheduled 3 possible wins outside league games..............smart!!

Lebanon needs players!!(thats it)..............sorry if I offended you: I sometimes just cannot help a chuckle at some comments made by die-hard fans. Harp would probably like to have your "magic" drawing board. You are a good Lebanon fan............I assume

  6. WC by as much as they want. I don't think Lebanon has anything left in the tank this year. Don't see them winning anymore games and only competitive in the Antioch game. WC 42 LHS 7

    Hold on now!!

We need input from BlueDevils1..................where are you? You are the Blue Devil expert

1.) will it be a WC rout?

2.) are the Devils running on an empty tank?

    or my favorite

3.) back to the drawing board.for Coach Harp

personally; I am leaning to the Wildcats of Wilson Central

  7. No excuses here, you guys were just better tonight. Our defense battled all night and did a really good job against the run for y'all. But your QB was on point and your receivers made plays. Your defense was amazing, y'all should be extremely proud. They've improved and earned a lot of credit from me tonight. Y'all had a determined bunch. We put ourselves in a tough hole early and didn't handle adversity well. Congrats to you guys on a great win and for the blue devils it's back to the drawing board and getting ready for next week.

Hmm.............BlueDevils; that "back to the drawing board" is what Harp or someone has said for the last 20 losses. What exactly will he do when he gets back over that drawing board?? Of course this also sounds like something that crack Blue Debil radio crew says each week................boys; ya'll are about out of excuses. "Once a Blue Debil; always a Blue Debil" may be harmful to ones health!!

  8. Well there is always the 'bring back the lift' option.  LOL

    and a few more players.

WCP.....I have no clue if players have "quit"; At 0 - 8; I would say that enthusiasm is a bit below what it was on week "zero".

Lebanon is presently a hard place to win............AND what makes it even worse is the fact that this year Region 9 AAA is woefully as weak as it has ever been.

At some point; Lebanon will turn around...........probably not as fast as some would like..

  9. Think about this.......................

A coach really has only (1) major controlling factor for players = PLAYING TIME

A successful athlete will have character & work ethic (most of the time)

If a coach has plenty of capable players .............playing time is the controller IF he does not let the "craphead' player get away with bad behavior..........good coaches eventually learn this rule!

If a coach has a limited number of capable players.........then the player character & work ethic must prevail to be a winner..........the playing time control is now limited............ simply because he MUST play the capable players to have a chance to win...........if they have poor character / bad work ethic; then he is between the devil & the witch.

If a player of poor character / bad work ethic KNOWS he will not be benched............How you going to motivate him??? Need some of you "experts" to help me out here!!!

Now also throw in the "enabling" behavior of the parents of these so-called wonderful athletes, and you have a Perfect Storm.............that is even enhanced further by the other "experts" (have all the answers) in the stands and press box (*note. this is usually a former player / alunmi with delusions of grandur of his former football playing ability)

I would say that Mr Harp's problem with keeping the Lebanon Titanic afloat is somewhere in this area...................

    Couple of other things

1.) Urban Legend - Athletes are roaming the halls -- not really!!! Most coaches will get the players out; there might be a very few...............if a good athlete does not want to be there......see character and work ethic (above)

    2) Lebanon's Pristine facilities - Not really!!! Place was designed by a MORON.......everything is backwards + very low stands + too many dang fences. Looks good from afar..........but it was not money well-spent

    I will finish with this...............

An old coach once told me "If I know I am going to lose.............I am going to lose with the kids; that try to do what I say..................the crapheads are going to be standing by me, or they can leave"

if you adopt this..............remember PLAYING TIME is your only real control; then you best have complete backing of the school admin..............

  10. Here is how the 2014 season will go. Of course the Bison will go back to back.

    1. Station Camp- Best talent wins out

    2, Lebanon- surprise

    3. Mount Juliet- better than last year

    4. Beech- okayerer

    5. Hendersonville- got lucky last year

    6. Gallatin- not enough talent

    7. Wilson Central- they need an Angel

    8. Portland- Help

    1.) SC will contend

2.) If Lebanon is # 2; next 6 teams better not play outside league!! this finish would not be  surprise........more like miracle.

3.) MJ would be better IF they stayed in "O" they know. Daddy better come back and help. This one could go either way.

4.) Beech = unknown; good coach; they will always compete

5.) H'ville will be one of contenders

    6.) Gallatin should be better.

7.) Wilson Central lost a lot of experence.....will be young

8.) Portland will not be bottom

    MY PICKS

    1.) Hendersonville

    2.) SC

    3.) Beech

    3.) Gallatin

    3.) MJ

    6.) WC

    7.) Portland

    8.) Lebanon

I think first 5 are solid........I am cowardly on # 3. WC might surprise up.

  11. they did have several state championship winning coaches that applied but were not even interviewed, is the fix in?

    Coach,

Where did YOU win a state championship? Did they not give you an interview? Maybe they will have to reset, and start all over again; you might get your shot...................Warning---- Be careful what you wish for!!

  12. Grooms is one of Lebanon's own but that's not what qualifies him for the job. Grooms has knowledge for the game and the ability to mentor kids about football and life lessons.

As for recruiting, I personally saw Grooms walk up to a 6'2 freshman in the band and talk the boy into trying out for the football team. His rapport with players is amazing and I have never known him not to be able to have a conversation with someone. He's also been designing workout plans for LaVergne since Thomas was there. If Lebanon wants to get back to being the most powerful team in the region, then Coach Grooms can provide a path back to that.

Maurice.............you be dreaming!!popcorneater.gifLebanon has NEVER been the most powerful team in the region............tell me when??

  13. Great let's teach kids it is ok to cheat as long as you don't get caught. OR Teach them it isn't cheating unless you get caught.

Great lessons. Problem is they take that same philosophy to their jobs and marriages.

Maybe this is why good people are leaving the profession.

We all know the rules, to those of you who are not - run your programs with integrity.

Bucks and Eddie........stop by the house: I got some Girl Scout cookies for both of you to sell :thumb:
