Actually there was to BK's Britney Kinsler(centerfield) and Brooke Kinsler (catcher) were they both seniors last year? Loss of either would hurt.

Brittney Kinser is a Junior and Brooke Ricker (catcher) is a Senior. The loss of Romano will definately hurt. She was solid last year and is only a junior this year. Karns got a good one. I don't understand the move either, but it happened. Another case of playing summer ball with a team and feeling they would be better off playing with those girls. I also imagine it was for better college prospects. Who knows? SG should be solid in the field and at the plate, but the loss of the pitcher will hurt. They only lost one senior last year.

Derek does enjoy helping the boys, but I can't see the boy's coach going anywhere for a long time. This would be an excellent opportunity for Derek Dyer. As for transferring players, I can't see making players sit for a year! Coach Dyer was an All-American, and was inducted into the Milligan Hall of Fame. I am sure he would do a fine job if given the chance.

South Greene shares coaches----the boys head coach is the assistant to head girls coach Amy Hawk, and vice versa, or so I understand. Their sportmanship display, or lack thereof, against North is the talk of upper east tennessee.

First of all, you don't know what you are talking about (Just as many other posters on this sight). The boy's coach has nothing to do with the girl's team. They did help each other last year (out of necessity)! However, this is no longer the case. Secondly, quit bashing an entire school and community. You have no idea of what goes on at SGHS or anything about its coaching staff. There are other things besides gir's basketball (BELIEVE ME)!!!!!

I have been going to the tournament for several years, and I must say that I have never seen that many people. Lets just hope that the TSSAA doesn't try to limit the number of teams. That would be a shame. Good attendance and good basketball. It doesn't get much better!

A big thanks goes out to KevB on a bit of confidence for SG. There is one thing for sure, people will see Donahue in a college basketball uniform next year. No comment on the game tonight, but I expect SG will compete.

Hey DA, Kyle shoots 80% from the free throw line and over 50% from the floor. He is averaging over 24 points per game. Maybe if you worked on your academics as much as you do at running that retarded mouth of yours you would be able to read a newspaper. Buckle up! You won't be running that mouth for long. Sullivan Central is coming to town. Your days are short.

Parents are 75% of the reason nobody wants to coach anymore. If a parent wants his or her kid to play more, then take them to the rec league. The coach is with the kids more than anybody and knows who can play. I have never met a coach who did not want to win. The coach will play who he feels will give him the best opportunity to do so. Parents need to encourage their kids, not blame the coach.

Unicoi County (25-2), vs. SG (22-5). # 6 vs. #9 in the state. Throw the first game out the window. Neither team played particularly well the first game, and this is for the Conference title. It should be a great game to see. As for the Greeneville fan, he has to get on here and talk because nobody else is talking about them. Just a little jealousy! Just between us SG fans and UC fans, the Watauga is much stronger than the IMAC! Both of our teams have had great years, and now it comes down to tournament time. I hope we get to see each other at least one more time after Friday night. Good Luck!

I never said he was a joke, from what i saw he is a pretty decent player. Not a 25+ scoring player though. I think most of his pts come from just getting so many shots up really. Up at Cloudland i saw the kid shot atleast 30 times and ended with 15 pts. if he hit only half his shots a night or close he should have 30 pts, any player should with that many attempts a night. He even plays PG so he can just skip the middle man and just come straight down and jack it. its crazy.

For your info, Donahue was playing point guard because the PG was injured. Furthermore, the kid took around 20 shots. Finally, for your info, he is shooting around 50% from the floor. I would have to say that's pretty good. He also averages about 7 boards, 4 steals, and around 7 assists per game. He even plays good defense. Amazing how some people see a guy play one game and jaw him.

Donahue got 29 Friday night against Happy Valley's Box and 1 defense.

Dude the band was there! Did you not see them in the student section? All in all the crowd was good, nothing more than some chanting and some jawing which is common in all rivalry games! There was no ugly chants by either side which was nice because well really it is unusual. Personally I feel that South Greene did not play their best, they did a good defensive job on Wiggins and he got into foul trouble early. Jimmy Boone did not shoot the ball at all in the first half with some wide open looks what was he like 0-8? Moore shot well in the first half. Greeneville really took control in the third quarter with Wiggins not even in the game. Then in the fourth they played ball control and taking only good shots. 54-35 Game over! Now good luck to both teams as they head back into all important conference play. I hope some of that classless talk is over for both schools because as someone said on here before it is not everyone who does these things but the groups as a whole get the blame!

You are 100% correct. Donahue did not play well, but Wiggins did not dominate either. Overall, it was a good game, and with the exception of the slow start in the third quarter from SG, I felt it was pretty well even. I have the utmost respect for Coach Duncan and his team, and wish them well for the remainder of the season. As for SG, I hope we can bounce back and finish what has been a tremendous season so far. I am just glad the game is over, and both teams can get back to what really counts.
