  1. You're right. TSSAA does not follow those guidelines because in some cases you might have some divisions with a lot more schools than in another. They take all of the schools and divide them by 5. Then they start with the lowest classification, placing each team in a classification based on their total enrollment until that division has met its limit. That way it is fair for all schools involved. They do this every four years. During the four year period, if a school's enrollment increases over 25%, then the following year they will be placed in the next highest division. Remember, the previous circumstance can only take place if it occurs in the three year period between the mandated TSSAA reclassification years. So a school can start with a lower enrollment, but during that time if it does not jump over 25%, then that school will remain in the division it was placed originally. Hope this helps.
  2. The rule book has no such regulation. That is a common thought among most casual fans, especially parents of the catcher. The only rule is to avoid contact, but it does not say a runner must slide. Another rule that is unique: When a fly ball is hit, the fielder must be in the process of taking it out with the throwing hand before the out is called. Meaning, if an outfielder catches a fly ball and runs to the pitchers mound and just drops the ball on the ground straight from his glove. Then, technically the runner should be called safe because the outfielder never attempted to take the ball out with his throwing hand. Baseball is a great sport where if you know all the nuances it makes it to be an even more interesting game.
  3. This thread has turned into a Jo Byrns make out session. Guys, I understand you want to workout but just call each other on your own time. I feel like I just saw you two kiss a few threads a go. I was using sarcasm in those last couple of sentences. Truth is if you lose a lot of seniors it will take a small program like Jo Byrns a year or so to build back up. Even the most dominant 1-A teams have to rebuild. Trousdale did it this year. Friendship will go through it next year. You have had a good three years and the fact that your region is very weak does help you guys in trying to four-peat. Also since the region has expanded to a ten team region, Jo Byrns only has to play one nonregion game. Therefore, further strengthening the chances of the ole' Red and whatever the other color is (white or black) to go undefeated again this season. We had a very similar last couple of seasons in our region the past two years. For the most part, all of the teams in our region was horrible, therefore we have a stockpiled a very good region record. The good thing for Jo Bryns is you are the only competition you have right now in your region. But, to think that you can compete for a third/ fourth round playoff game is a little bit of a stretch. Out.
  4. Anybody seen Bigtuck and his mouth? He claimed that JB was unbeatable and that they deserved to be recognized as the best. You lost Bigtuck.
  5. I agree, but your bashing Houston County. Didn't you only beat them by 7 this year?
  6. Did you just read only part of my other post? Then it is Satterfields fault for not fielding a JV roster. If he has 21 freshmen and sophomores then that is more than enough to schedule 3 to 5 JV games. I'm sorry, though. Satterfield putting 90 on RBS is rediculous. I mean Goodpasture, us, David Lipscomb will win by 40 or 50, but 90 is when you are being stupid. Why do that to the other team? We could if we wanted to also, but we have class and Trousdale does not.
  7. Sattefield does not dress freshmen so that he can say he only has 23 players on the team. Do you really believe that a school like Trousdale would only have 23 players on the roster? Kids would give anything to be on that team, because you are guaranteed a ring in your four-year career. Satterfield has been known to run it up consistently throughout his tenure as a headcoach. Why are giving him a break? Here is the thing, David Lipscomb wins big every week, but their coach is not known for running it up on you. The reason is because he knows that once he reaches a certain point, he will let up. He won't through it. Satterfield will purposefully try to put 90 up this weekend so that he can send a message to the teams around 1-A that he is back. Also, if your freshmen team is in and you are throwing the ball up by 50 you should be fired. Freshmen play JV to get to run the real offense, they do not play varsity to get to do it. Dives and traps are all they should run, maybe an occasional toss. That is the entire point of having JV games, so they won't feel let out and they get to learn football during the Monday night games. Freshmen must learn that you have to earn it before you get to play in front of the big crowds on Friday nights.
  8. We have had several make impacts throughout the year. But, other schools in our Region have also. Adamsville possibly going to the playoffs. I am guessing their coaches have done a pretty solid job with that team. Their new offense shows that their coaches are making changes in a good way, implementing shotgun more into their system. Waverly is another school that their coaches have done a solid job with that team. Houston County is yet another school whose coaches have solidly turned that team around this year. HC's offensive coaches have done a solid job, converting to the various wing-t formations. Also, our coaches as well as Lewis County's complete coaching staffs have done another great job. Congrats to all the teams mention in Region 6-2A.
  9. Congrats to GP and CPA. The past five years they have been on fire. Personally, it all goes back to being truly dedicated by their recruiters. I think Trooper Taylor worked for GP for awhile, so he could bring in a certain type of athlete. These schools absolutely deserve every pat on the back they get. I tell you what though, GP's coaches must be on needles and pins, due to all of the pressure on them to win because of all the talented bussed in from around the Nashville area. The reason I say this is because Alcoa is a public school and they tapped GP last year. That is inexcusable by GP to get beat by a public school, especially when you guys pay a lot of money to get those players. Look I just hope that we can get past the first round against you Region 5 guys. You guys have convinced me that we are just country trash.
  10. You're an idiot. Who are you? You do not have to do it the Camden way to have things right. If our way was the right way, then freaking everybody would run our offense, play our defense, workout the same way. However, that system works for us, but let me tell you something chief. What would a Goodpasture fan say to you? Let me guestimate, "Well son, you need to hire 10 coaches just for football and do things like this and like that." You see, to people of Goodpasture and every program their way is the right way for that particular school system. Jo Byrns coach, coaches everything from Middle School all the way to high school. According to your philosophy, Jo Byrns should be terrible because their head coach does more than just coach high school football. To tell a school that our way is the only way to do things is stupid. We are not the proverbial state champions. We do not have the tradition that David Lipscomb has, but according to you every school should follow the Camden way. You are moronic. Waverly keep doing what you are doing because your system is working for you.
  11. Wow, all of 2-1 better than Region 6. That is incredible, let us go ahead and tell Alcoa that they better watch out for you Region 5 guys. You are right, in one year you have shown the world that you are better than us Region 6 slackers posting an impressive 2-1 record versus us. My goodness with a record that astounding we might as well call you Region 5 guys, Goliath and us poor Region 6 boys, the proverbial David. I hope you guys are kind to us in the playoffs. Hey one more question. You Region 5 guys are so far superior in football knowledge, I thought I should ask you a question. Maybe you could answer it for me. Did you know that during a game we saw a team throw a forward lateral and they called it a pass? Can you do that? We called them out on it and said that was illegal, but they said that you could do that. Really? We need some help from you two superiors: CPA/ Goodpasture.
  12. First, last year's Richland team, beat the Region 5 #1 last year. So tell me, what region is the strongest? Because, if you go by what these new regions have done so far you would have to say push. Neither region has been so dominant over the other. I might understand your idiotic opinions if they were accurate, but Region 5 has done nothing to show how they dominate Region 6. Second, this year Adamsville/ Houston County have earned it inside of our region. They have battled from having poor year's last year, to have a shot at the playoffs this year. I have said this same thing in nearly every post on this thread. But, you are too blind and mentally challenged to understand that. Bring on Region 5.
  13. Regardless, all of this nonsense can stop. Richland does not deserve anything. They lost to Houston County, stick a fork in them they are done. #8, #10, #53 they are all done. They will give up. They do not have the heart to win this game. Richland equals no heart. They haven't shown anything to prove their heart.
