  1. Can I get an AMEN!! That is for the post of Bulldawg fan
  2. Dustytayor13 give me a break, like they said Kayla weighs like 110 pounds, what do you expect for her to do, hand them the ball and stand there as they shoot a lay up, granted that may have made you happy, but be realistic...... it was a physical game on both sides of the ball, the refs were not the absolute best, but believe it or not Gleason did not pay for them to be there. They called it like they saw it, I did not agree with all of the calls, but they did not pay me to officate the game. It's over, we won the game, they will not take that away from those girls. You never know what kind of refs you will have at any game, the girls have to step up and play ball, not worry about some fan from the other side that may not agree with a call. I hope you are not an Oliver Spring fan, because they are very classy people and do not want to associate them with you.
  3. Its not about playing stall ball as so many are putting it. The girls have been taught not to throw up a hope and a prayer, wait, move the ball and make the defense come out and guard you, if they do not come out, hold the ball till they do. Open up lanes and make them stop you. Play your style ball and dont let their defense dictate what kind of shot you take. If they foul you after getting the defense frustrated, fine step up and shoot the free throws. Our style of ball is not a run and gun style, we want to make the other team play our style, not us playing yours. I think that Coach Frazier is an awesome coach, the team is awesome and they deserve the gold ball. They have worked very hard and they are reaping the rewards now.
  4. Oliver Springs players and fans, you really put up a fight, you were very classy people, and we hope that you can say the same about us. I am sure that you will be back next year putting up the same fight. Congrates to Kayla, Candace and Jenna!! WTG very proud of all you ladies Riley, Taylor you are the best!!! Cheerleaders awesome job too! Sports Wizard, Come on down to Gleason tomorrow, you can watch the girls bring that gold ball and all the other hardware they won up the front walk into our school to put next to the other ones we have. This should not come back to bite me in the rear..... seasons over... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Best of luck to all the teams in the state, it wont be long till practice starts again, work hard to all teams, cant wait to see who will end up in the boro this time next year!!!
  5. Thank you Patsummitt12! you are on the ball!
  6. Dont tell Forrest and Jackson County that they were the 2 weakest teams in the tourney, I think they will tell you that they were an awesome team that ran into a very hard to beat Gleason team. All the people that posted remarks had Forrest or Jackson Co playing in the finals, not Gleason. Thanks for the Good luck, hopefully our dreams will come true, I already have one of the state champion rings from where we brought back one of those gold balls, hope these girls get to size their fingers for one after today. Good luck to both teams, being here is such a high, something both teams will remember for ever.
  7. Sports Wizard do you even follow district 14? We have 10 teams in our district that are very tough. Lake County and Greenfield could have easily been the two teams that made it as far as we have, all of west tennessee is not arrogant, I think you just love to stir up stuff..... hope your team wins what ever game that they are playing today.
  8. I do not think that what I posted was negitave on either team. I am a very positive person and try not to get into the whole downing of other teams. They are all 14 - 18 year old girls who are nothing but human. I feel like either team is very deserving of the gold ball, hope it comes to Gleason, but if we get beat, the least we can do is bring home a silver. Who would not want to have the opportunity to play in this championship game? That is why you play the game, "any team can beat any team on any given night". We have responded to the naysayers about us not belonging in the finals, so many people had us written off before the Regional tourneys had even started, we have proven we belong. So no matter what the outcome of tonights game, we are proud of our girls. Dont think that can come back to bite me in the rear. I just hope that all is healthy after the buzzer sounds, and Kayla Hudson walks off the court with the miss basketball trophey. She more than deserves it. Best of luck to all the players and coaches, both teams are remarkable for making it this far. I dont think that any of the people that posted who would be in the finals had Oliver Springs and Gleason playing for the championship. Congrates and good luck!!
  9. I dont think that either game Gleason played was a gimmie, we were out on the floor just like the other teams, at this point in the season, any team can win. We just came out ready to play. Dont down our team and fans for being arrogant, most of the replies are from non Gleason fans. We are proud of the way our girls have handled the pressure of each game. We too are made up of 2 Freshman, 1 junior and 2 seniors, our first 2 subs on the floor are Freshman. Grade does not matter when you play ball, as long as you play as a team. Our girls play with heart. good luck to Oliver Springs, Congrates for getting this far, it will be a great game no matter how you look at it. Regardless of who wins, the worst that can happen is a silver ball, who in the state would not want to be in that game tomorrow? I would take a silver ball for every year that gleason has made it to the state and not gotten past round one. Jackson County, you and your fans are class act, we are proud of you too, I know that does not help much, but you played a classy game, very clean and I hate that someone had to go home. Good luck next year, I am sure you will be back, yall are truly a classy bunch of ladies.
  10. Sportswizard, most of the posts that I have read from Gleason fans are more than humble. We are aware of the fact that we are small, but that is why we play the game, we want that gold ball as much as anyone in the state. It is great to have gotten as far as we have, it would have been easy to lay down and lose any of the games that we were not supposed to win. I agree about the win % part, that does not matter, what matters is when the buzzer goes off in the 4th quarter all players are in good shape. We do not want any player to get hurt doing something they love... We are a humble town with humble players, wish you could spend 15 minutes in Gleason with the likes of Coach Frazier, Kayla Hudson, her family, Candice Green, Taylor Stout, Kim Edenfield, Jenna Frazier, Kim Reynolds.... the list goes on. These folks are class acts, you would be pulling for Gleason in the games too... Good luck Sports Wizard hope the team you root for does good too.
  11. I am so excited to see this game! I too wish it was the Finals.... the bad part is that only 1 team can move on to the next round. I do not believe that it is going to be like the game against Forrest. It is going to be a nail biter. Hats off to Jackson County and their coach, but I know the will and determination of Coach Frazier, and he is not going to just hand the game over to JC, if they win it, they are gonna have to bring their A game. Gleason is tough and has lots of HEART and that is something that you can not measure with a win % or tourney wins or even gold balls..... the girls will be ready to play and regardless what happens, they will leave it on the floor. Gleason is very proud of these young ladies and regardless of the outcome, we will be there cheering them on forever. They have proven to be one of the greatest teams in class A and most of the people wrote them off before we ever got into the Regional tourneys, but we must be doing something right now, we have made it this far! Good Luck Girls we love you!! Oh yeah westtennsports AMEN!!!
  12. I want to congratulate the Lady Dawgs on such an awesome victory last night! What a win! Defense wins games and last night you girls played awesome defense. Keep up the hard work! The road is still long and hard, but if you keep up the pace, you will be unstoppable. Hudson is a lock for Miss Basketball, Green is a hard worker on both ends of the court, Jenna is getting stronger with every game, Stout is one of the best Freshman in the state (can't wait to see her get stronger and more mature in the next year) Riley you are playing your best yet. Keep it up girls! The community of Gleason is so proud of you and behind you all the way!! Best of luck in the Boro, see ya there!
