  1. Either way Catapano is not a MLB pitcher and I would venture to say he doesn't have the conditioning of one, but I may be wrong. Anyway you stack it Halls has a much more powerful lineup than Farragut (for once) and I think they can get to Catapano alot quicker than they will get to Jeff. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. No most MLB pitchers go on 5 days. Most high schoolers do go on 3 days rest but most don't pitch 9 innings and throw over 120 pitches in a single game. He may be fine I am just saying that is alot of pitches for one game and he could get tired early.
  3. Lockwood is going to Tennessee. Yeah Catapano can be beat because you said it yourself, Halls has no problem scoring runs under any circumstances. I think it will be a great pitchers duel for about 3 innings. Catapano threw 126 pitches and is coming back on only 4 days rest. I believe he may start losing his stuff after a couple of innings and that is when the Devils will start pounding the ball. GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Halls pitching has been consistent throughout this year for the most part. Lockwood has been almost untouchable this year (9-0 .32 era). Zach Lawson has been consitent also. (5-3 1.70 era). In Zach's three losses he gave up an average of 1.5 earned runs and had an average of 4.5 errors commited behind him. Cody Phibbs struggled early but is starting to pitch very well over his past 3 starts. The defense has tightened up and has started making all the plays and the offense is just plain scary with Lockwood (.492 14 hr 52 rbi) and Lucas (.577 18 hr 68 rbi) leading a lineup that has a team batting average at .391. Halls has a good chance to get back to state but Monday will be a great game. Go Big Red!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. The game is at 6 @ Halls not 5 like I previously thought.
  6. Lockwood vs. Catapano. Which team gets to the others ace first? Should be a great game. Halls is knocking the cover off the ball and defense has been solid over the past couple of weeks. Pitching has not been problem all year. From what I have read this may be Coach Pharr's best coaching job considering all the players the Admirals have lost over the past couple of years. Should be a great atmosphere and a pitching match up for the ages. Good luck to both teams but I like my Red Devils to come out on top of this one.
  7. We beat you 3 times and you beat us once. You don't get lucky 3 times. So just admit the better team won and you all choked under the pressure.
  8. We haven't handled pressure situations very well this year? We just walked through the district tourney outscoring our opponents 51-4 in four games as the 3 seed. Thats the most pressure we have faced all year, because in the tourney you win or go home like SD last night. It has been an up and down year, but we are peaking at tourney time and thats when it matters most. Regualr season numbers mean absolutely nothing now. So before you get on here and run your hole have some facts to back up your statements.
  9. Hey loser stop your whining and accept the fact that the better team beat you 3 TIMES. Show some class and stop belly aching. I know that would be a change for you all but give it a try.
  10. Halls beats Karns 13-0 in five innings. Halls will host runner-up from 4AAA on Monday.
  11. 3AAA Championship Game Halls beats Karns in a 13-0 run rule. Lockwood throws a 1 hitter and goes 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 hr (both in the first inning) and 4 rbi. Halls will play at home on Monday against runner-up from 4AAA. Good luck the rest of the way Devils.
  12. Just goes to show the lack of class at Alcoa. I have said it since the disgraceful display of sportsmanship that I witnessed when we played at Alcoa and after the game two assistant coaches stood in the parking lot with baseball bats to control the crowd. Good job Hornets and don't worry about what a classless coach might say about you. By the way Tornadoes have a good rest of the school year at home.
  13. Yeah he hit two out. One was to straight away center and the other was to left center. He had a third one if not for a great play in center by Sean Adkins who climbed the fence in center and made an unbeliveable play. I don't know what Trey has been eating but I hope he keeps doing it for about 3 more weeks
  14. Don't look now but the Devils are peeking at the right time. Halls beats Central 13-3 in 6 innings. Zach Lawson pitched a great game and Trey Lucas is at again with two bombs, including a grand slam, in a tough park to hit one out of at Bill Meyer. Defense was solid and everyone in the line-up hit the ball well to help advance the Devils to the championship game against either Central or Karns. Everyone has been down on us but we are playing as well as anyone around and are poised to make a run back to state. Good Luck Guys. Keep it up.
  15. Hey Alcoa06 how about Mark Allen and those renecks for Carter now. Great game Hornets and good luck next time out.
