I really have no idea.

Better win as much as they can in March...they'll have something to be proud of when they're at home with their folks in October.
-
I like All the Right Moves and Rudy (even though I loathe virtually everything about Notre Dame), Remember the Titans was okay...I liked the comedy of Necessary Roughness...
and
VARSITY BLUES STUNK OUT LOUD (except for the whipped cream bikini)
I didn't think that the coach was a comic foil...I thought he was the serious character and that they were trying to paint all coaches as being like him.

Kingston does.

You think there are coaches on the hot seat in your neck of the woods?
-
I think Loudon can beat Fulton...not saying that it will happen, but Fulton won't beat them by 30 by any stretch.
-
I think he meant that Seymour is better this year than last, not necessarily better than OS.
-
I think Eric Mitchell's Loudon Redskins will give Fulton a run for their money, especially if the 3's are falling.

Austin East 27 15 24 16 82
Kingston 13 12 07 20 52
AE forced 30+ Kingston turnovers. Sitzlar held to 2 points. Poole 14 points/11 boards. Cook 11, Kittrell 12
Here's the weird one:
Fulton 13 17 23 29 82
OSHS 13 15 08 08 44
That's right...52-16 in the 2nd half.
Peterson only Bobcat in double digits with 15. Ringley had 7. No other Cat with more than 4.
OH yeah... and Kingston did get dunked on...OS fouled Fulton on breakaways several times in the 4th quarter.

Considering what everybody else brings back, I think Kingston is looking at 4th in district...
losing Pugh and Gardner will be rough...
this is how I see Kingston's first 5: (copied from another thread)
Thearp moves from 2-guard to point (where I personally have always thought she should be); needs to have outside shot going
Lunsford starts at 2 guard, needs to score more (Lindsay Cole also plays significant minutes at this position)
Cupp stays at 3, most improved player this year, needs to keep improving and bring the turnovers down
Sitzlar will play one of the post positions, needs to score more and foul less than this year with Pugh graduating
Cottrell will probably start at the other post, needs to generally get meaner on both ends.
I don't know much about Kingston's sophs for next year yet. Kingston's bench will again be the unknown factor.

Congratulations to all the girls teams who made it to region tournament but lost the opener on their 32-way tie for 33rd place.
-
Which MC?
-
I've never been to any of those schools mentioned, but I know that, while money is a huge factor to TSSAA, hosting region at smaller gyms would also create safety concerns.
-
Those would be some pretty deep teams! I think our girls team dressed 12 players. 500 was just an estimate, my friend. 2-3 per school sounds pretty high to me. Sure there will be some teams with 3 or 4 players, but there will be many teams who produce no college players.
Posted by KevB1990:Swamp my brother, considering that there are over 300 high schools in Tennessee, I'd say that there would be quite a few more than 500 players.
And of the players on the teams, probably 2, 3 tops per school on average will play college ball somewhere.
-
Can you put the individual stats for Kingston/Alcoa up on the other thread? Also, what's your outlook for 4AA vs. 3AA next year... 1-3 again?
-
Out of the 500 or so high school players in Tennessee, how many will actually play college ball?
Posted by KevB1990:So in other words, college basketball (men's and women's) and professional basketball players don't have fundamentals because of the shot clock rushing them to create shots with limited time?
Why are we even bothering sending kids to play college ball then? All of their fundamentals would be garbage anyway according to that mentality.
-
Teams play sloppy enough on offense without a shot clock.

LC and Loudon will probably compete for the 2 seed next year. As for Kingston, they're hard to predict. Depending on how Plemons wants to use the sophs next year, this is how I see Kingston's first 5:
Thearp moves from 2-guard to point (where I personally have always thought she should be); needs to have outside shot going
Lunsford starts at 2 guard, needs to score more
Cupp stays at 3, most improved player this year, needs to keep improving and bring the turnovers down
Sitzlar will play one of the post positions, needs to score more and foul less than this year with Pugh graduating
Cottrell will probably start at the other post, needs to generally get meaner on both ends.

How many shots did Kingston miss from inside 5'?
Foul trouble?
Individual stats?

Can someone post the game times for 2AA?
-
Somehow we've managed to get thru 2 AE games w/o being dunked on...
lost by 42 at AE and slightly less at Kingston.
~Swamp, who thinks the final score is much more important.

Is 3AA as superior to 4AA as they continue to look? In the 4 years that these two districts have been put back in a region, I can't remember a 4AA team seeded lower than #1 getting a win...
-
What's the scoop?

I think Kingston/Alcoa is on AM1400 - WGAP in Maryville.
