  1. Well I've watched a few Science Hill scrimmages, and met a few DB players, and to be honest, I don't think that UNLESS Duncan pulls a feew atheletes out of his bag, the 2 IMAC teams in Region will be gimme's for the Big 12...

I am doin fine, thanks for asking, kinda had my dreams crushed this semester, as I had to transfer back to ETSU from Maryville where I would have seen quite a bit of playing time, because I couldnt afford tuition.

  2. Yeha but it does seem a bit odd that seemingly every year Coach D comes out with a transfer from somewhere...

There are plenty of great areas to live in, and great schools to attend in NET, but I believe that this is beyond coincidences. Nevertheless, I'm not looking to pick a fight, simply stating my opinion.

What I'd like to know is if there is anyone in this conference who can compete with the powerhouses on the other side of the region.

  3. A little outside perspective coming at ya...

Went to the HEATED rivlary game tonight between Volunteer and Cherokee and during the fourth quarter I saw something which really set me off.

As Cherokee was attempting to break Volunteer's press through the air and Wes Hortin was recieving a pass near half court, a seemingly possessed Ray Carpenter (had 10pts. in the 4th) ran strait through Mr. Horton with NO chance to get the ball. As Wes picks himself off the ground Ray ran over to the bench to recieve a high five from Coach Whittenmore. Seems odd to me...to put it lightly....

But an outside perspective which came from Tyler Seals after the game was that becuase Ray is not known for his physical play, Coach Whitt tried to reinforce this toughness, not promote brutality or cheap play.

  4. Unfortunately playing at Hal Henard has the reputation of bad officiating but I believe that pin pointing this problem on Duncan is off based.

Basically what I am saying is that I would love to hear a reason why it is like that up there, other than Duncan pays, harrasses, and tortures the officials.

  5. Ouch... I didn't get to make it to that one.

All Greene county schools give Cherokee fits. I remember back in '05 or '06 we lost to North Greene and West Green in the same year. Definately not something which would have been predicted beforehand. No disrespect to either of them however

  6. Look man, Maryville is amazing, even I know that. What they have done and are still doing is awesome, they are a great team. But the way you talk, you must have a picture of the team under your pillow or something. Do you dream of Maryville?

Yeah, they are probably going to win this game, I don't EVER go against my team, but this time I think it is too much. But the funny thing about football, Panther, is that the final score isn't decided by a couple of fans arguing on a thread 6 days before the game. Nope, the final score is decided by the boys who actually play the game on Friday night, anything can happen so go ahead and skip your basketball game and make sure to come watch the show.

Win or lose, this will be a great game, I love my team but I have respect for the enemy.

thank you for stating the obvious for us.

because we all actually think the WE can affect the game's outcome by posting on here

  7. depends historiclly hard to play then yes.. close games last year yes... blowouts and easily beaten no

The close games is where a good home court advantage should come into effect.

I would say Dobyns Bennett has a home court advantage unique to most in east Tennessee. My saying so isn't necessarily because I am an Indian supporter, or because of the student sections or crowd noise, but simply because of the dome. The arena is very open, the ceilings are high, shot judgement is difficult.

Hear, Hear! and the court seems like an NBA court: it feels GIGANTIC

  8. Antwaine is a good player and a Great guy. Brad and Antwaine have totally different games. Antwaine has more athletasism (spelling ?) and Brad is a stronger more fundamental player. They have played each other this summer and they both maintain mutual respect for the other. Though Brad is white and close to 4 inches shorter, he is by far a better player around the rim and going to the basket. Antwaine is a better shooter and has a quicker step. Ask Antwaine what he thinks about Brad.

I'm sure that a D-1 athelete could care less about some guy who plays for Chuckey Doak

  9. I hope this is like just sarcasm or something. I would love for you to ask Coach Carter of South and the Coach at Greenville if they are preparing for this week or next week? I GUARANTEE you get an answer like we are preparing for this week with a stupid look like why you ask a stupid question or of something like we are playing this week then if next week we will work on that team. If South thinks they can just run over West because of a record then I'm sorry they are sadly mistaken and same with Greeneville I'm sure the coaching staff of both teams are not stupid! Come on now!

    -Ed Smith

Your level of intelligence astounds me...

  10. Yeah I would say Greeneville and Souths coaches are all just relaxing this week and getting ready for next weeks matchup considering West and Volunteer are both "barely over .500 /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

which is EXACTLY what I am saying is happening in Kingsport and Greeneville.

  11. ok, so you did beat unicoi in the semi's of the hardee's last year. BUT, you failed to mention that you were down 11 to 1 when ike weaver hurt his ankle and never returned to the game for unicoi. and it was a 1 point win. don't think that would have happened if he didn't get hurt. just a guess???

Speculation can't take Wins off the stat sheet, and while I'm not going to argue with someone who didn't play for either team, because that would obviously be a biased argument and redundant, I would like to point out that Unicoi Co. lost to a team or 2 that Cherokee stomped... not gonna mention any names to bring up bad memories. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I think that arguing over which team is better is trash talk which should be kept between players.

and back to the topic I go....

Who does UH have besides Woodacre that can put points up?

  12. Sore about a Cherokee defeat? hardly... It was a good game and I've essentially moved past the immaturity of hatred of rival schools... You miss the point I am making.I talked with a High school football coach earlier this week(whose name shall remain unmentioned),and he said that to draw a team with a 6-5 record in order to advance to the THIRD round of the playoffs would be quite a break. Not saying that the team didnt deserve to be there, but in comparison to drawing a Sullivan south or Maryville or Riverdale, it would be quite a different task.Sounds to me like some OTHER people need to mature a little and quit jumping to false conclusions
