  1. Should a coach ever throw a game to put the team in a better position? If so, do you just make questionable coaching moves or are the girls in on it also? For example, the Nashville Tennessean was full of quotes by Smyrna coach Steve Willey virtually accusing Bud Brandon and Wilson Central of purposely losing the regional championship game to avoid a sub-state matchup with 30-2 Hillsboro. It is not the first time that Wilson Central has been suspected of doing this.
  2. I thought Wilson Central lost to Riverdale in the Hall of Fame game. Would that not make them 14-2? How can you count the Hall of Fame game on your record some years and not count it in others? Is it purely the disgression of the coach to either count the wins or losses on your record or not to? What is the TSSAA's stance on the subject?
  3. Let's drop all the Thompson talk. He is not coming and would be stopped at the state line if he tried. Nobody other than 'Runt', 'Jake' and 'Modincus' give a rip about him.
  4. I would say the top teams in any of the 3 classifications can probably be competive at any level. But, and this is a big but, the average team in single 'A' cannot in any way compete in double 'AA' as the average team in 'AA' cannot hold it's own in 'AAA'. Classification is good. It gives all teams a chance to compete day in and day out. It also let's us all debate the question of who is best, Hamilton or Mitchell, Liberty or Union City.
  5. What is the deal there, anyway? I don't understand how Hassell, Wasson and Atwood, three talented freshmen living in Lebanon, are allowed to go to Central. Shouldn't coaches play the players that are zoned to go to their school? Is Wilson Central trying to become the next Shelbyville? All of our girls are zoned to go to Mt. Juliet. We don't go out and recruit other teams players (at least as far as I know). Surely you people at Central have a problem with this. I understand Central has been raiding players from Mt. Juliet and Lebanon ever since the school was opened 4 years age. You can talk all you want about loopholes in board policy or whatever you want, but the bottom line is this, "It is wrong." I even heard that Brandon called Hassell one morning this summer and asked her to go to camp with them that afternoon, WHILE SHE WAS PRACTICING WITH THE LEBANON BLUE DEVILLETTES. She went and of course, the rest is history. Goodbye Lebanon, hello Central. The ones really getting the short end of the stick are the girls that have been there for 2 or 3 years, patiently waiting there time and then when that time arrives, BANG! "Sorry girls, but we have brought in some other girls to take your place." Winning is important, but not that important.
