I know more about the game then you could ever imagine, especially european soccer. U.S. as good as Czechs??? I hate Arsenal is why I have this name and I made this name like a year ago. Essien costs more than the entire u.s. team in the transfer market, def not a mistake he plays for chelsea! they have superstars that never play. I root for the u.s. dont get wrong, but some of you have lost your minds. We will have to play awesome every game and the other teams will have to underestimate entirely (portugal 02). Rui Costa said they didnt even scout the u.s. they thought they could just show up and win. we will not be underestimated anymore and germany was crap in 02 they were lucky, very lucky to get to the final. mls players are just no where near the level of european professionals, it is fact. Donovan could barely get off the subs bench at Leverkusen and he is the best in the mls!! We have a few good players that can play but not near enough good starting 11 to win the group. winning the group is just ridiculoulous, getting 2nd in the group will be an amazing accomplishment. The injuries will not effect Czechs as much as you think, Jan Koller was back 2 weeks ago and scored a brace against Bayern Munich, nedved is getting old but he is still much better than anyone we have. you act like some overexuberant american fan who fails to see the truth. u.s. is my team but i dotn say things like c"zechs are no more talented than the u.s."- you lose all credibility with that statement. its not your fault, you just dont know what you are talking about.
I do hope to see Mcbride own Nesta though.

that cant be explained. Teams are beaten by other teams when the team that
was beaten was so much stronger. We already have the whole world against

Everyone on this forum has gone mad, we have not proved anything. The italians not that good???? are you crazy they are sick. This is their best team for the past 2 world cups. Czechs are not overrated, they have injuries, but they have so many great players it shouldnt matter. Ghana is the best african team no doubt. we dont play african teams often so i dont know how this will turn out. MLS players do not play the competition the italians czechs play, its that simple. when the u.s. plays internationals they rarely play a great euro or south american team and if they do they get spanked. playing cuba, jamaica, costa rica, central american countries has not prepared us for the world cup. Winning those games mean nothing. We will have to play incredible to win any games and any other team will have to play awful.

They play without passion, and the talent of the individuals is more important to them than the overall success of the team. The Czechs are no more talented then the US, and they are constantly battling with injuries, which will kill team chemistry. Ghana is the best african team? They were going to put Freddy Adu on the starting team, if that tells you something. No, no Ivory Coast and Tunisia are much better. And Essien is as overrated as they come, 1 goal in his entire premiership career. He is another 43 million pound mistake. You obviously dont pay attention to now, you just look at a name and pee your pants. 'Oh no, Italy! the Czechs!' Just names that dont mean a thing, the US can play with these teams. And the mere fact that your name is 'arsenalisgarbage' should discredit everything you say since they went to the Champions League Final.

Senior Anthony Groft #4 from Portland. He acts as a general on the field. He controls the pace of game. make beautiful passes out of the back tremindous field vision. He the first line of defense and starts all most every attack. Portland is going to miss him in the middle field.
I believe that this was a post for only teams that were in "the dance". Hint hint, the state tourney, which portland did not participate in.

In my honest opinion, I don't really know soccer, but I do know a lot of sports in general. Strategy is the main part of ANY game. Look at the 1980 Olympics when USA beat USSR, we certainly weren't more talented than them, but we beat them.
I believe winning is in these percentages: 45% planning, 35% fitness, 15% heart, and 5% luck. Now, if a team has hardly any planning or coaching, then that is when talent takes over. You can also substitute talent for heart, as shown by Terrell Owens. If you can get a team who has all of these percentages and then add in talent, you have a team like the New England Patriots or Brazil, for you soccer people.
Congrats, Bearden. You are the best team in AAA. You may not be the most talented, but you are the best. I love the soccer board, I may be on here more next season.

I just cant believe that Haywood is that good after only beating covington and trenton 3-2, so I just figure Madison is overrated. I dont think they win this district this year and I think they will lose to sheffield in the region semis. Sorry fellas, yall just are getting too many injuries and the chemistry just wont be there come tournament time.

madison was up 1-0 in the first half from a free kick from nick desio then in the second half taylor mount whipped in a corner and andrew post headed in... in 5 minutes madison collapsed and conceded 3 goals it was terrible and madison scored through nick desio again with 4 minutes left... the game was in madison's hands but i dont know what happened... give credit to haywood but not respect, just credit for now... i congradulate you guys and hope you guys do well the rest of the season as for the rest of madison's schedule dont expect anything. we know where our mistakes are and it wont happen again! good luck to you all though
aight so, did Madison just proved to everybody they are pretenders or did Haywood prove to be for real? I think that there are some flaws to this madison squad, I dont think they have a keeper and injuries are hurting them badly. My opinion, without a keeper, I dont think they get past offensive teams like Haywood and Sheffield. I think they dont think they get to sub-state. Too many injuries and no keeper.

Does it really make that big a difference with 9 seniors starting. They havent gone anywhere since these guys were freshmen so why does it matter if u bring back players that arent good. I hpoe that wasnt their real goalie in the jamboree cuz he looked like he has never played soccer in his life. Why do people keep sayin they will go to state?
Ozzie Johnson, what are you talking about? I mean how can you say that Dyersburg is overrated? Dyersburg is a solid team and, other than Sheffield, may be the best team in the west in AA. I would watch out who you are calling overrated..its not wise to call a team out who has all that talent, age, speed, and strength...Having 9 starting seniors DOES matter, they have all been playing and gaining experience for the past two years. Yeah, they haven't proved anything in the past except for winning the district last year...but Dyersburg has been relatively young these years and very rarely are you going to be really good with majority freshmen and sophomores and juniors on the field...and I know that 6 of those 9 seniors have signed with colleges to continue playing, and I think the other 3 are considering offers but haven't committed...my point is that the season hasn't even started. dyersburg and USJ were very even in the jamboree and dyersburg was missing 2 of their starters including their keeper, who WOULD have made that save at the end of the game.

They looked pretty good. They tied Kingsbury 1-1. Kingsbury beat Westview 1-0 and lost to Madison 1-0. They will continue to improve as the year goes along. I think they will compete in that district. They looked stronger than Northside. Although, Northside lost 1-0 to St. George's and Liberty lost 2-0 to them. The Brazilian kid they picked is going to help a lot. He scored twice in the first game. Evan Johnsey is really strong up front as well.
How do you think Haywood is going to do in the region/district?

FRA did not look at these jamboree's as games to win also, they have a young team and wanted to get experience for some of there younger players. I know they had one eigth grader and at least 5 freshmen that got quite a bit of playing time. They played it like pre-season (Winning isnt important). Tournament time is what makes a team a good or bad team, not who they win or lose too in a pre-season jamboree. They played Sheffield a little more like a real game, but they didnt do it full strength, because they started off the 2nd half with one 8th grader and two freshmen on the field. and Sheffield was not a bad team at all, they have more pure soccer talent than any team there, when they find there rythm they will be very successful.
Just because they are all foreign doesn't mean they have more talent, i think USJ and Dyersburg have more talent and play better as a team...and thats hard for me to say since I'm from JCM

Yeah, it is easy to type how good your team is gonna be on here and how amazing your players are ... my experiences with coacht have been the team with a big mouth talking his team up always has been the team that did horrible...and the better they sound on coacht, the worse they do on the field and Maryville sounds like Chelsea on this thing...I was wondering who the goat that was gonna talk his team up so big was gonna be this year and it sounds like Black Messiah is the big mouth and Maryville is gonna be the team...maybe they will be something but I seriously doubt it

I would have to agree that USJ and Dyersburg are the favorites. Martin just lost so much last year, I think they will still be solid, but I have to give the advantage to Dyersburg. Northside should be solid as well. Dyersburg did beat them 3 times last year, but 2 wins were only by one goal, and the last was by 2 goals. And they tied in their first meeting. I think they return several players, and have a new coach. The team that I think could surprise some people is Liberty. They have a very good coach, several returning players, and some new players that are solid. Whether or not they are on the level of the top 3 or 4 is yet to be seen. I'm interested to see how Liberty will do with Kingsbury in the jamboree. That could be decent indicator of how they will do.

Just for all of ya'lls information. FRA beat Henry County 1-0 (not lost), they won within the last 5 minutes with a corner goal. Then Madison came up strong and beat FRA 2-0. And the big Sheffield vs FRA was FRA up top 2-0 against them. Great soccer was played today though, just wanting to inform ya'll of the whole FRA situation.
Actually, that just brings more questions. Since you guys aren't from West Tenn. let me inform you... Henry County is a mediocre team at best, and you only beat them 1-0 with 5 minutes to go, Madison obviously had a good jamboree but I was suprised that they beat FRA 2-0, and Sheffield is just not very good this year, trying to put something together after losing 7 starters last year...So everyone still wants to know if FRA had all their players, because you guys seem to have a pretty big reputation as a good team...

The teams I was most impressed with at the Jamboree were as follows:
(1) Milan- BIG draw vs. Sheffield
(2) Dyersburg- two good wins and a great game, that ended 1-1, vs. USJ; Amazing Free kick that Dyersburg scored on
(3) USJ- looks very strong, gonna be great to see the rematch between Dyersburg and USJ for the Region final
(4) Haywood- lots of young players did very well
(5) Madison- bounced back well after a bad showing at the USJ scrimmages last weekend

Seriously, is Brentwood High School bad at any sport. It seems like if their not the best team in that sport, they are in the top. Soccer, Wrestling, Baseball, Football, Softball, it seems like they just can't be stopped. Whoever runs the athletic program over their is doing a good job.

I will tell you this since how you are ragging on Millington i would be 100% sure that we make it to Regionals this year or Sectionals that i would bet you are saying negative stuff about Millington you don't know nothing about them you didn't watch us play last year how cares about Bolton or Bartlett they wont be very good this year.
How many seniors/starters did Bolton lose last year?

Because we lost to Bartlett only 3-2 but they have lost all there good players to we only lost 5 players and we have the best Defence and Forwards in the District Bartlett will be ok but not like they used to be. lost to much

lol...you are soooo far off base. 'We don't have the passion like 02'...the US and the African teams probably have the most passion than anyone out there. The European and South American players are the ones w/o passion(France, Spain, ITALY, Argentina, Portugal...) Those guys don't really care about the WC, its just another game to them, and if they lose, they might get booed for a week and then people will forget about it and they will go back to their high-profile teams with their huge contracts and movie-star wifes...
My point is that this is the only time the US has the only chance to show themselves and prove themselves...this chance alone will make them play with more passion than anyone..
