  1. :roflolk: Plus, you have admit #74.... it would be pretty hard to catch #5 anyway!

The 2000 team got the ball started....for that....thanks Guys! :thumb:

BC. I not sure that I agree with you about the 2000 team. Alcoa has had a proud history since the beginning(1919) This school system has always been focused on being the best. I am so proud of all the accomplishments since 2000, but This has always been a proud and accomplished School.

  2. I saw them there too. I see them every time the doors are opened. (I'm not sure if they are zoned for that church though)

Maybe not, but I bet he tithes 37%

This is the funniest post I've seen, I don't care whether you're a hater or not. I hate that I will miss BOH on Friday, but I am going to Cookeville on Thursday. I know a real good meat and three there.

  3. Membership fees = gate receipts. Mike, I would love to buy you a coffee or breakfast the next time I'm close to your home and continue this discussion. The folks who work at the TSSAA office are hired and fired by the Board of Control. These are principals and assistant principals at schools in Tennessee, I'll just keep on flogging.

  4. The TSSAA is not funded by tax dollars, at least not any that I'm aware. It is funded by each school paying a membership fee and money from the different tournaments they hold, such as football playoffs and basketball tournaments. The Legislative Council and Board of Control are employed by their respective school districts, not the TSSAA.

  5. No "clintabbott" he's not a moron. It's not that easy. They are a bunch of overpaid, arrogant, closeminded people, who if they run a business like they run the T$$AA outside their walls they would probably be fired.

I put my name on my posts. I stand by the fact that TSSAA is run by schools and all the employees are school people and there is a way to change anything that the TSSAA does. Quit your fussing and do something about the problems.

  6. Born and raised in Alcoa (Hall Community)two-way starter on the 77 and 78 championship teams, multiple relatives who where/are Tornadoes/F5'ers, and a few Rebels too :thumb:

I'm sure I can name you, but I won't. How are you and where do you live? PM me if necessary.

  7. I never mentioned grades. I just said brightest. Common sense and "human knowledge" goes a long way. There has been many many great athletes that came from Alcoa that have gone on to special places but there also has been quite a few that needed to spend time in a community college before taking that D1 scholarship...if they ever take it at all. I can see where it seems Im bashing a kid (even though everyone Im discussing is currently over the age 18)but it breaks my heart to sit at Goddard Field every Friday night for the past 20+ years and see such great talent playing, many with D1 or slightly below talent, that never gets to see a field on Saturday because of their grades or decision making.

Also, I said this in an earlier post, Im sure it happens at all schools however for the past 20+ years Ive been at Alcoa games so I dont pay attention to other schools and what athletes do and dont make it.

I've been sitting or standing at Goddard Field for longer than you and it breaks my heart for youngsters not achieving to their full ability, but I didn't get on a message board and belittle anyone. Come see me Friday night and I will buy you a hot dog. I would like to know who you are.

  8. You shouldnt. Alcoa has a long long history of great teachers, coaches and faculty members that have gone out of their way to help students and student athletes a like. People like yourself Mrs Upton, Coach Joe Bush. Coach Phelps, among many many others have helped these kids in the classroom and on fields/courts but eventually there comes a point where the student athlete has to carry himself. Too many times have I see a kid take the field at Goddard Field with all the talent in the world, sometimes D1 talent sometimes not and he never amounts to anything because he lacks the drive and/or dedication. Im not going name names because that wouldnt be appropriate or necessary but I think any Alcoa fan (and Im sure this happens at other schools to, I just dont follow them) that has been a fan for numerous years can think of names off the top of their head.

Let's not use a public message board to belittle kids. Please try to be positive about all Alcoa Tornadoes. We have made tons of mistakes.

  9. Ole' Green-EVIL-le, so are we playing Alcoa next year or what? Clint can you give me some clarification buddy?

Charlie- I was told yesterday by the AD that The game was on for next year. That would make Alcoa's non league games with Maryville, Webb, Fulton, Austin-East, and Greeneville. It would give the haters ammunition about Alcoa's soft schedule.

  10. I was at the game and I thought that the officials didn't give the Alcoa kid a chance to fair catch the football in the 2nd quarter. This was a big decision. Alcoa is much better than CAK. Alcoa will win 9 out of ten games with CAK.
