Great points in this discussion , but at the end of the day 1-26 at an historic school in Wilco Land will most likely get you fired most of the time.

Franklin is not the Franklin of old . Zoning has taken a big toll on the football program along with private schools. It is Grassland High to be honest . You heard of those Spillman brothers at Lipscomb - they should be at FHS.
Coach Melton has done a good coaching job with what he has to work with . Most all his games in a very tough league have all been close contests . Defense is where he excelled and on offense is where they have had troubles over the last 3 years . Like some else pointed out . Scheduling also could factor into the equation this season. 

Yes , the timing might have been bad in some folks eyes , but in a very old and proud program something had to change .

Coach Melton like all good coaches will land on his feet somewhere . He is a good coach and an even better person. Look at what he did as DC at Summit . He has also coached under Crawford at Brentwood . 

Franklin will move on in next 3 games with ex HC Donnie Webb and then look for a new HC.

Fairview reminds me a lot of what Page use to be ....the country school in Wilco Land. As we all know growth knocked Page into big time football with huge increases in population. The same thing is happening right now in Fairview. With the right leadership and vision Fairview could be a sleeping giant. Population is fixing to explode big time in Fairview.

Players are lost all over Wilco Land to private schools...it's just a sign of the times. You got to put your athletic program on the front porch to compete with the private schools in the Middle Tenn. area. 

I was thinking the same thing this morning ...TSSAA screwed around and destroyed the long standing District and Region dates ...now they have destroyed long standing District and Regions teams ...and now going against their own policy and making teams drive all over the state for Sub-State games on school nights. Head shaker for sure , but that money still rolling in. 

Playing the 6A game on Thursday Night is so TSSAA....stupid so stupid!!

Amen ...this is a great topic...way too many classifications...5 public and 2 private is perfect. These past 3 days proved it...most games all blow outs

Whitehaven fans no you should not have been playing last night. You got beat. Ill give your defense credit, its very stout. But your offense resembles a pee wee offense. Give your athlete the ball on a toss right, toss left. Occasionally run the dive or vertical routes. I've seen y'all do it for a couple years now but its probably what y'all have done for a while. You win because you have athletes that are somewhat disciplined. Against CR you played a team that had equal athletes, coaching,etc and they made less mistakes and won. Plain and simple.

The Whitehaven team I saw in that semifinal game was a pee wee offense and had a holding penalty on almost each and every play and that was reason Cane Ridge won- Whitehaven was just bad this season...hence CR played a real 6A team in the finals and got their #### handed to them as expected. CR side of the bracket was very average this year and played out to be that way in the finals...the Championship game was in Marville in the Semifinals...case closed. I knew this result last Friday after watching CR/Whitehaven play....both very average for 6A ball.

Last..like to add East Tennessee won 5 State Championships ...Middle & West won 4 together. Power this year was in the East big time.

Talk weekly with Coach Webb and Franklin is preparing to get ready for new turf field. All are excited  about the off season program and next football season.

All Wilco Schools have a  certified trainer at each football practice and game....So I'm calling BS on the concussion accusations cause I know their trainer and she would not let that happen. Total BS
