  8. I'm sure the groundwork is being laid right now that ensures that he WILL NOT be in single A ball next year
  9. AMEN! Thank God for Title IX but pray that it will also be applied to the sports (like softball) that don't generate the dollars that football & basketball do!
  10. Absolutely - not just the quality of not only the coaching, but the intregity of the program - any improvement would be welcomed! As a fan of the game, it quite an embarrasement to see the same tired old tactics year after year that won't & don't work while others in our District improve . . . we even have girls in Middle School that won't play in High School because of the coaching staff! ! ! And it's not the athletes - these same girls excel in summer ball !
  11. no daddy's here! the situation is this: in softball, we have been told repeatly that "nobody" wants to coach softball at our school so we must accept the current coach even though she isn't interested in building or improving the program- BUT - when we need a "quality" football coach, a new coach is hired -
  12. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> What constitutes a violation??? If a team has "quality" coaching in boy's sports - basketball, football & baseball, but claim that they cannot get "anyone" to coach a girl's sport - softball - is it a violation in regards to equality in regards to there only being two sports for girls vs three for boys?
  13. - an embarrassment for Waynesboro for sure - thank God that no one was hurt - physically, anyway!
  14. Unfortunate, to be sure - not exactly the way Coach Byrd would want such a fine season to be remembered! What exactly will the TSSAA do w/ these fans? Are there any fines/violations placed on the school for this type of conduct? It would seem that they (the 4 who were tossed) would be banned from future events for some period of time -
  15. Who made the tourney team from Waynesboro?? Just curious
  16. Just curious - this would seem to be a violation?
  17. - any updates? what inning is it and how is USJ doing offensively?
  18. - so is the game being broadcast? where? - and what about the "wheels coming off?"
  19. Hear that Coach Wyrick is retiring along w/ Assistant Coach Peters - just curious - who is the new coach? I noticed a young lady hitting infield during the Regional and was just curious -

  21. - the players listed were announced after the District Championship game at Summertown last Thursday night. The listing IS what was announced by the Tournament Director Coach Peterson after the game -
  22. Anybody know the schedule for the meeting of the 12A & 11 A champs?
  23. Congratulations again to Coach Wyrick. He is the perfect example of how hard work, dedication and pratice pays off over time. Unfortunately, your quote about the "desire" of the Wayne County Coaches to work hard and improve the program does not deserve to be on the same page with ANYTHING about Coach W - the desire is not there! Again, it's been a priviledge to watch Summertown for the past several year mostly because of Coach Wyrick's work ethic and desire to succeed - this can't be said for all high school coaches -
  24. Congratulations - Wyrick is a classy guy and a great addition to any coaching staff whether an assistant or not - Do ya'll have a list of the girls that made the 12 A all district team? Another post requested a listing - I believe it was listed under 12 A tourney or something -
