It's very clear that Stansbury handled the major let-down at Maryville insufficiently, in that he used profound language in the direction of his players. The significant factor in this situation, though, is that he realized it short-thereafter and explained to his players that he was wrong in his actions. Too often people in position of authority are expected to be perfect, and one screw-up is taken out of context. This is a perfect example of where our society has been headed. Kids are critiquing adults instead of the other way around. How can a teenager learn from his superiors if he seeks mistakes in that of the latter rather than the motifs others like coach Stansbury is rightfully teaching them every day?

Good post, Trojan. I don't know much about Stansbury as a person, but as a coach, he's one of the best around. Having competed against him for four years now, I'm convinced that anything he does is directed towards, most importantly, shaping his kids into "men," and also winning ball games. He was steaming Friday night...boiling probably. Any competitor would be after blowing a 10-run lead in the 7th. He's human. He said things under extreme circumstances that he would not typically say. Who hasn't? Coach Stansbury is a great coach (this coming from a veteran west hater) and the worthy opponent.

Who do you all think will win the cross-town rivalry next week? (That means east vs. west, supersuck.) Should be a great match-up. Marshall and Collins from East are both effective hurlers(pitchers, supersuck) and Bridgewater and Wild can both bring it. Bridge is my mid-season POTY. I think if he's on, it will be tough for East to grind out some runs. But East has faired well against some of the elite pitchers in the area thus far. Good game. Hope to attend, that is of course, if my Patriots aren't playing.

Okay, now you're just putting words in my mouth. I never said West doesn't have a chance. I had an analytical theory that Jefferson County would beat West 8 or 9 times out of 10. Everyone is a critic and everyone can base his own opinion, slasher. I have admitted twice now that I was wrong about West, so don't rub it in. "Cocky" was never my approach. Are sports analysts cocky when they predict who will win the world seires or the super bowl? "Cocky" is when someone feels he has to let everyone know how good he is...like after winning two game boasting, "Who's the bright one who predicted the Patriots will win 8 or 9 of 10?" I admit that West was the better team Monday night so LEAVE ME ALONE.

Slasher, there is a difference between stating byist opinions and being an ungracious winner, rubbing in the fact that someone else's opinion turned out to be false. I'm the first to admit that I was wrong about West, but it's a shame for someone to bash another person's opinion merely because he was wrong. Congratulate your team, but don't denote someone else for having an opinion. I said that I felt Jeff could go undefeated in the conference, obviously I jumped the gun a little bit and Trojan E. made sure I knew that. West players showed a lot of class after defeating its rival Tuesday night, don't ruin it for them, after a very well played/coached game.

they played greenville very vlean if i remember jeff didn't even get a card and greenville did so what was not clean except for the "punch" that happened supposedly but i didn't see that but i am sure that if it happened that the coach would have done something i know the coach there well and he would have surely done something about it

i guess since jeff didn't have a football team this year the soccer team is trying to fill there shoes but they seem to do a good job knockin heads and scaring other teams that is a thing not to many teams have in the IMAC

No class, Trojan E....Anyway, hats off to West. They were the more competitive team all night long and it showed. Can't say enough about Bride's performance in the latter game. He threw the ball where he wanted and varied speeds brilliantly. West showed a determined desire that can't be taught. They had a lot of quality at-bats drawing key walks and mashing clutch hits. Again, hats off to the Trojans, and good luck against cross-town rival East.

yeah sure so why not rest him so he can be healthy that is not a smart coaching move to play a better player when he truly is injured

I think greenville is really having problems scoring goals as well JT i believe his name is really has a hard time getting his shots on target but i guess when you are the only goal scorer teams key on you night in night out and the pressure gets to you but i personally feel he would better serve the team as a wing they have to have someone better to get the ball in the net

i think i will just keep everyone guessing but i am not the keeper wrong again i don't even think the goalie is smart enough to use a computer but he is good

whew what about that west greenville game last night 7-1 i thought greenville was going to have a little bit more to offer this year but i guess the guys they lost last year really meant alot to that team west dominated the game from start to finish greenvilles marking was awful they just looked like a deer in head lights from kickoff congrats west you might just be the team to beat in the IMAC this year

good game greenville 7-1 ouch if you cant stop morristown you won't beat us ever are defense is to good to get past and we now are healthy we did't even have two of our seniors for the first round of conference we are good to go now and we are tied for first in the conference whew it is going to be a crazy 2nd leg of conference

My guess would be that coach wanted Caddie to get some more reps to get back in the flow of things after his recent injury.
