  1. I can't say I disagree with you as those stats are very good. However Fayettville doesn't have a good record this year and in the eyes of most voters they take that into account. Key has likely took his team to 25-2 with 2 OT games away from going undefeated. While beating 3 AAA teams, winning both Christmas tournaments and finishing first in their district. 7A is one of the toughest districts this year with the top 4 teams having 16-18+ wins a piece.

I am not saying Key is going to win or that team stats/records will matter as I know this is an individual award but I know most voters way that information and use it for making their choice.

With 2600 career points that is a tough feat. I assume he is a senior? How many shots does he take per game? As I know Key is very very efficient.

  2. WOW dude!! Relax a little. I just thought your post was a little confusing to read. That's all!! Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers.

By the way, not everyone keeps up with everyone else's schedules. In a perfect world, maybe we would.

  3. 2nd round games are in Watertown.

First round boys games are at 7:00 Saturday night (2/23) and are as follows: Clay hosts Trousdale, Jackson Co. hosts FCS, Gordonsville hosts Clarkrange, and Watertown hosts Pickett Co.

  4. "confronted" two former Clay co. students and all heck erupted.

Both coaches tried to settle everyone down but it took quite a while. RBS I know didn't play well and the score was one sided and resentment of the heckling probably caused this but players and fans have to have more control than this.

Confronted- really dude?? I think the word is assaulted!! It seemed to be premeditated too!! They each knew who they were going after!!

I was at the game and watched our student section and I know a couple things are true: 1.Our students were not on the court or even standing directly on the sidelines (like many other schools where we play)and 2. Our student section is on our side of the gym where it should be - not directly behind the visitor's bench like at RBS.

I didn't hear any racial slurs (not saying it didn't happen)....funny how everything suddenly becomes about race. RBS student section had a noose a few years ago when we played at their place, but we showed CLASS and didn't start a fight!!! Must've been before RBS had a black player on their team...just saying.

It's just really unfortunate this happened!!

  5. does anyone know if these players are being suspended or if any kind of punishment will be handed out?

I think it is out of the hands of TSSAA because it happened after the game was over and the referees had left the court. The discipline/punishment will be the responsibility of Coach Owens.

  6. Pickett Co. has won the District this season now can they win the tourney or will they get upset? So far JC hasn't proved they can beat PC this year and until they do you've got to like PC's chances in that matchup, however Clay Co. has beaten PC and had PC beat in Byrdstown last week if they could have made their free throws down the stretch. The problem Clay Co. has is they haven't proven they can beat JC yet this year. Can Clarkrange pull another upset in the district semi's against this years #1 seed or does RBS beat Clarkrange in the opening game? No one is giving Monterey a chance but this is tourney time so anything can happen! Lets hear everyone's thoughts.

Clay County beat Jackson County in the Nera White Tournament in Lafayette over Christmas. So, we CAN beat Jackson. We just haven't done it when it has counted.

CBOMB8 were you on the bench and heard personally what the coach said I mean if you are gonna get on here and tell what happened and blast a ref then I wanna know if you heard the conversation I am sure that the coach just calmly talked to the official and then recieved two techs. I dont think so I dont believe that he nicely approached the official and then got chunked, but hey that is just me. Sounds like coach got caught up in the game and went to far and that is sad when his team had J CO. on the ropes.

I WAS at the game. I was on the bench. CBOMB8 is just a little off. The coach probably deserved the first T because he stepped onto the floor toward the ref to protest the call (NOT YELLING). He did not scream and yell, as you are implying. The second T came within 2-3 seconds as Coach Edwards questioned the ref as to why he gave the first T. Are coaches not allowed to question the refs concerning certain calls ?

Coach Edwards, in no shape, form or fashion deserved to be ejected from the game. The referee, Tommy Carr, made a bad call and could not take responsibility for it. Unfortunately, he took it out on our coach and inadvertently our team.

By the way, the player DID deserve the T.
