  1. Congradulations Lady Jackets on a great year. This young team has done things that no other Coalfield team has ever done before. Keep your heads up and work hard in the off season and I see no reason that you won't be back again next year with a very stong chance of making it to state. The future for Coalfiled softball is very bright. "Go Lady Jackets"
  2. Another great game by the "Lady Jackets" on Monday night. Rockwood really came to play ball and they put it all on the line. For the second straight game the 8th grade catcher Andrea Foster came through with a big hit in the 10th inning to get another win for the Lady Jackets. Lindsey Fadnek had 17 K's in the game to bring her total for the year to 267 K's in 24 games. Coalfield had several key catches in the game to keep Rockwood from scoring on some bomb hits by Amber Cofer. Coalfield had a very difficult time with Amber on defense as well, catching everything that came her way. In my opinion Amber is the best 3rd baseman you will find. Coalfield will play at Midway on Wednesday @ 5:00pm "GO LADY JACKETS"
  3. What an unreal "Championship" game between OS and Coalfield. 12 innings of some of the best High School softball that could be played. Congradulations to the Coalfield Lady Jackets. This team is very young and has a very bright future ahead for some time to come. Lindsey Fadnek had 19 K's in the win. The offense was lead by Andrea Foster with a huge hit to the left field fence to end the game 3-2 Coalfield. Kim Hall pitched two remarkable games back to back with a total of 19 innings and 24 K's between the two games. Coalfield will now host Rockwood on Monday @ 6:00pm and OS travels to Midway. "GO LADY JACKETS"
  4. My fault doughb110, you are right, the game did end on a pop-up and a catch by Andrea Foster. This tournament is far from being over, and you can bet your last dollar that OS wil come back with a vengance and try and win it all. I don't think many have given Coalfield much of a chance all year to be a contender in this district with all the young kids they have, but I think they might have made a believer out of some last night. Who knows, they just might be peaking at the right time. GOOD LUCK LADY JACKETS !!!!
  5. What a great game tonight between Oliver Springs and Coalfield. Coalfield got out early scoring one run in the first to take the lead. They added a couple more runs in the 4th to go up 3-0. That is where the game stayed until the 7th when Coalfield put up two more to make the game 5-0 going into the bottom of the 7th. Oliver Springs made a charge in their half but could only get 3 runs in before Coalfield ended the game with 2 K's from Lindsey Fadnek and a throw out at 1st. Lindsey had 11 K's in the game tonight in the win. The defense for Coalfield really stepped it up tonight with great play from all, but especially from the catcher Andrea Foster with some unreal diving catches. Congradulations Lady Jackets!!! and good luck tomorrow night in the Championship Round.
  6. The OS vs. Coalfield last night was a great game. An unreal pitching duel to say the least. The score was 0-0 until the bottom of the 5th. OS had runners on 1st and 2nd with two outs. There was a fly ball hit to center field and the ball was dropped scoring two. OS got one more run in off a bloop hit to right to go up 3-0 after five. They added another run in the sixth to make the game 4-0 and that is how it ended. Junior Kim hall had 17 K's in the winning effort and 8th grader Lindsey Fadnek had 12 K's in the loss. This was truly a great game from the first pitch. OS takes the lead in the district with Coalfield in 2nd place. The 4-A district tournament starts Monday at Coalfield with OS and Coalfield having "By's" in the first day of play. Good Luck Ladies !!!
  7. The district meeting was held today. There are (10) games left in the district to decide everything. Coalfield and OS play Thursday night to decide 1 and 2 with OS having the advantage because they beat Coalfield at their place. OS has not lost a game and Coalfield has only lost (1) and that was to OS. Tomorrow nights game should be a good one. As for the rest of the district the remaining (9) games will determine just where the remaing will land in the district tournament which starts on Monday the 5th at 5:00.
  8. JC#1Fan, If you know who she is and have seen her play then you wouldn't need to make the comments you have made. As for being "kin" I stated earlier that Kim and my daughter have taken lessons together for the last five years. So the relationship part of you comment must be one of those accusations you have been talking about. If you think that I am part of Joe Caldwell's RED HOTZ gang, think again. We have nothing to do with any of his teams, But you know how those accusations are. As for the scores, I wish the coach at OS would post some them also but it doesn't look like we are going to get any so you are going to have to go watch if you want to know. Yes, this site is intened for good humor and lets keep it about the ladies that give us something to talk about.
  9. Check out the state tournamnet results from last year. Oliver Springs went very deep in the tournament with just about the same players. The first part of ths year Kim had an injury that kept her from preforming at the top of her game, but she is over that now. As for other competition, the GOLD ball she plays in the summer is where Kim really shines.
  10. JC#1Fan, you don't have a clue who this girl is or what kind of competition she has played against. No I am not her dad, just a softball fan. My daughter and her have had the same pitching coach for the last five years and I have observed what this young lady has turned into. In my opinion she is one of the most dominant pitchers in the area. Don't believe me, go watch her play some travel ball this summer and she will show you a thing or two. If you had a real clue about good softball in this area, you would know who she was and what she has accomplished. You don't get invited to D-1 camps by head coaches by just being average. Save the trash talking and rose colored glasses for someone or something that you actually have a clue about !!!
  11. I will keep that to myself for now. Kim and her family may not want that info out in the public at this time. Sorry !!!
  12. Kim Hall from Oliver Springs is the real deal when is comes to softball players. She had 17 k's is the game at Coalfield last week. For those of you who don't believe what her batting avg. is, go watch her and you will change your mind. I know she has attracted the attention of some big schools at the next level recently as well. Good Job Kim !!!
  13. You got me on that Rsquared. What I ment to say was whoever doesn't make the mistakes will win this game and they did. Hats off to the Lady Bobcats, They came ready to play tonight. It was a 1-1 ball game for a couple of innings then OS turned it up with some good hitting and great pitching from Kim Hall. She had 17 K's on the night and a good bat also. The Lady Jackets only had (4) hits on the night to get there one run in. Lindsey Fadnek had a blooper just over the pitcher for a single, then Andrea Foster hit a long fly ball to center field to score Lindsey and that was it. Lindsey had 11 K's in the game, but the errors cost the Lady Jackets in the end. Next up for Coalfield is Greenback on Friday and OS host Union Co on April 24th. Good Luck Ladies
  14. Coalfield beat Oakdale in 5 last night 15-0. Lindsey pitched a two hit shut out and the girls really got the bats going. Hits from Andrea, Alaina, Lindsey jump started the offense to get things going from the start. The two unbeatens in the district face off this Thursday at Coalfiled with Oliver Springs coming to town, should be a great game with excellent pitching. Whoever makes the mistakes is going to win this game.
  15. Catsbackr, The Coalfield pitcher has already faced some of the girls from your region in travel ball. Did pretty good also. She has thrown 62 mph before on several occasions, but is consistant around 58-59 mph. Let us know what tournamnets some of these teams will be in and we will come down. Not this year, but we will schedule for next year. Coalfield's coach believes in playing better ball with tougher teams to make our girls better. SEE YOU SOON.
