Currently on High School JV team. Pitches, middle infield, overall utility player.

Watched a good game Friday night Spring Hill vs Page. Both pitchers did an outstanding job.

Garrett fought hard and the young Page team made some outstanding plays to back him up. Nice stop by the 1st baseman probably saved a run.

Good luck to both teams and all of the boys going on to play college ball.

Your right that Indy has a solid group of 8th graders coming up. Their win loss record for the season is either 19-2 or 20-2. Indy will only have some of those 8th graders for one year and then a lot of the talent will be zoned to the new high school.

Indy won in OT. Indy fans were loud, chanting against Coach Henrie and Chad Farbman. Chad sunk a 3 at the end of regulation to put them into OT. Both teams fought hard. It was a good game.

Who has the most K's in a single game. Hayes Britt with Germantown (23-7) had 14 K's over Cordova (20-5) last night

Garrett Gross, Page Middle, had either 16 or 17 against East Hickman. No walks, one hit, no runs scored.

Centennial/Independence beat Baylor this weekend at Baylor in OT 9-8. It was a hard fought matchup with Baylor scoring with less than 15 seconds left to tie and send it into OT.

Great effort by both teams.

I agree with hitter, I don't think he should be labeled that just yet. Just because he signed with a good school people are all of a sudden against him, and hope that he fails. It's not fair to him because he is a good kid, and not cocky.

Isn't Josh Lee only a junior? He can't be signed with Vandy yet. That is what I meant by being premature. Just seems to put a lot of pressure on the kid when everytime his name is mentioned the Vandy Commitment thing is also mentioned. It would make more sense if he was a senior.

Franklin dominated in the game against Indy. Joey Falleta pitched an incredible game. Big Bad Josh Lee went 0 for 3 with a K and an error, guess vandy is getting their moneys worth. Franklin ripped the ball coming out on top with a 9-2 victory.

Kind of feel sorry for the kid they way the VANDY COMMITMENT thing has been smeared all over everything you read about Independence. Isn't it a little bit premature?

Just came from the Page vs East Hickman game. The final score was 5-0 Page wins. Garrett Gross had 16 strikeouts, no walks, one hit. Garrett threw a great game.

The kid from East Hickman did a good job on the mound also.

I went to this game. Ravenwood did not look as sharp as they have in the past. Centennial was surprising. They have gotten alot better this year.

Centennial/Independence have gotten better and the players showed a lot of class and it comes from the coach on down.

It's only two days to go and there's very little talk about this game? Not even 'smack'. What's up with that? Has the 'nation' disbanded or just too wrapped up in other things to be bothered (like the homecoming game)? What are the thoughts on this game. I think they should win and perhaps even win big depending on the game plan. That is, if the game plan uses more than one player to score and garner the stats ( I know, I know, TN, I just can't seem to let it go, but it's a valid observation nonetheless). Join in, wail, rail, whatever!

I heard Centennial won by 3 thanks to a FG with 10 seconds left. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, just talked to a parent that was there. It was a high scoring game with Centennial winning in the final seconds.

Father Ryan and Centennial both easily won their first games of the day. Father Ryan beat Centennial in the final game. Not sure of the score.

Heard the game tonight is rescheduled from 6:00 to 4:00 due to weather.

Page won Tuesday night. 13-3. Garrett Gross was the winning pitcher.

They lost their ace from last year. That's about all I know for a fact.

They picked up a strong pitcher who transferred from Independence, Garrett Gross. He is just a sophmore. If he stays injury free, he will be one to watch for the next couple of years.

On the topic of player meltdowns, I am going to venture a guess that there are coaches and adults in the players life that have contributed to allowing this behavior. I'm not excusing it, just think that coaches and leaders of these kids need to step up as well. The kid was thinking much more of himself than the team. More than likely he has learned that from coaches who have put winning the big games over taking the time to discipline this kind of behavior. So, many times these kids are being selfish, just as there coaches are being selfish by not helping the kids by making them accountable for their actions.

Who was the woman trying to comfort him while he was throwing his tantrums? That was embarrassing to watch. I know nothing of either teams but was watching the game with my younger son who plays middle school ball. He commented that the kid should have been in the huddle with his team encouraging them after he fouled out. He was not a team player.

LAST WEEK'S CANCELED GAMES AGAINST FATHER RYAN:

The JV and Varsity game has been rescheduled for FRIDAY, 3/14, at CHS Soccer Field. The JV game is at 4:00 and the Varsity game is at 6:00.

Can't blame the team and community for 4 students though, all the Indy fans seemed to be pleased with their Millington experience.

Anyone else from Independence get their car keyed last night? We were parked in a SECURE parking lot and paid $5 to park. Check your vehicles.

I hope Smyrna wins; I think tSmyrna had a much harder way to go. Indy deserves respect, but Smyrna got pounded on to get here by tougher opponents and is probably more beat up.

Millington had some of the fastest RB's I have ever seen in high school football. They were a legit team and deserve to be at State. This was not an easy game for Independence.
