  1. Well, I've got a little more time to elaborate today. The upset by WHH really shifted the playoff picture around. Even though McEwen has played their rear-ends off to win two consective overtime games, it looks like they will still have to beat Jo Byrns to make the playoffs. Right now, McEwen holds the fourth place spot with only two region losses. Should they pick up a third loss, they would lose the playoff tie-breaker to Forrest because of head to head action. If Cascade is able to beat Jo Byrns Friday night, they would be assured of no worse than second and the game against WHH the following Friday night would be for the region championship. If Cascade slips up and loses to Jo Byrns Friday night, they would still win the region with a victory over WHH the following week.

I think the region will still end the way it currently is with the exception of McEwen and Forrest trading places. I can't see Jo Byrns losing three weeks in a row if we are able to get them Friday. That means bad news for McEwen. Jo Byrns who is currently third would move up to second place if they were able to beat the Champs Friday night. If they beat us Friday night and we beat WHH the following week then the region championship falls back to J.B. Everyone still has a lot to play for. Going to be interesting the next two weeks.

Bottom line..........take care of business, Champs and we stay in Bedford County until we travel to the Boro for the championship!

Let me ask you this then, if Cascade beats Jo Byrns but lose to WHH, what happens? And if Cascade lose to both WHH & Jo Byrns what happens? I'm just wondering, I'm not making any predictions.

  2. How long has it been since Jo Byrns lost anything at home? I graduated last year from WHH, and ANYTIME there was a game in Adams, with exception of one basketball game, Jo Byrns has won at home. Not saying there's any conspiracy to this, but I'm just curious, when was the last time you lost a home football game?

  3. Hooper, you know I'm just pickin at ya for a little fun. I haven't done it all year. Yall are a good ball team and have played very well this year. I'll admit, I wish I was still playing. It wasn't easy walking off the field for the last time, and a couple of your guys saw that when they looked up at me from the cage. Good luck to yall tonight and in region.

  4. Hooper, not to get in the middle of yall's "whining" for lack of a better word CoachT wouldn't approve of, me n Tuck may both be sittin at home right now, but if someone throws you enough curveballs, you will be too.

  5. We had one bad inning yesterday where we gave up a couple unearned runs, and it was late in the game. I literally found myself throwing our season down the left field line over the head of our 3rd baseman. That will forever be a memory left in my mind, but it won't be the only one. Our team accomplished so much this season, and I'm very thankful for the group of guys and coaches I got to share my senior year with. Good luck to everyone else through the rest of the tournaments and represent our district well.

  6. Well, we lost to CA today 13-9. They dinked n dunked the ball, but our defense has gone down the shute the last 2 games. I'll be the first to admit, I've had some bad defensive games myself the last two days, and I have to step it up before saturday just as much as the rest of the guys. It was a horrible game, but also very humbling for us, especially myself. We look to respond tomorrow against Westmoreland and get our heads straight before saturday.

  7. White House-Heritage 5

    Jo Byrns 4

Hill and Holman both pitched great games. Taylor Scott came up with a single in the 5th to break a 4-4 tie, and then turned around in the 7th and made 2 great defensive plays to seal the game. Jo Byrns is now 9-3 and WHH is 7-5. Good luck to everyone the rest of the week.

  8. I know that all of you weren't there to see that call, so those of you who weren't, don't worry about it. The call could've gone either way, but it's a done deal so drop it. It had no effect on the game's outcome at all. The game was a pitcher's duel from the top of the 1st to the bottom of the 7th, regardless of "bad calls." Sure, it'd be different if it hadn't gone our way, but it's baseball. Being an umpire requires making judgment calls in tough situations, and it's almost guaranteed someone is gonna get mad about it not going their way. You still have to hit the ball and play defense to win the game. Umpires take alotta crap from people on and off the field, and I'm surprised some of them still come back to do it day in and day out. They're human just as much as anyone else. Get off their backs and play the game.

  9. We beat East Lit again today 2-0 making us 6-4 in district. Hill and Teasley both pitched great games. We go to MTCS thurs. & a doubleheader @ Cheatham Co. on friday. Has anyone heard about Houston Co. and McEwen? Good luck to everyone the rest of the week.

  10. We beat East Lit 13-3 today. It was a big win for us, one we really needed. Teasley and Hill matchup tomorrow @ Shelby. McMoran and Pirtle each hit HRs, and #25 for East Lit had one as well.

  11. Tuck, you'll find out who's better when we play yall, and when the games are over, you can decide for yourself. Don't take that as a sarcastic comment either, that's just the truth. Both guys are pitching very well, and will continue to do so the more they take the mound. Seeing how I catch both of them, I think both are equally tough. Don't take what Hooper says lightly, but take it for what you think it's worth. On a different note, we have East Lit. this week. Good luck to everyone.

  12. QUOTE(ERBaseball25 @ Apr 7 2007 - 12:34 PM) 826431871[/snapback]Yeah they are down a little because there shortstop told me that they got a new coach and half the players couldn't take the dicipline so they all quit, i think they only have 12 or 13 players on the whole team, they hit the ball pretty good but just right to somebody and there pitching isn't strong at all but they might have through a not so good arm since it wasn't district play but yeah good luck to ya on Monday Zeke, where are yall playing this year? Up top or down bottom?

    Up top.

  13. I think I just about peed all over myself reading all that between Hooper n Tuck. That was funny stuff. We lost to Springfield yesterday in a close game, 6-4. I'd rather not say too much about it on here because I'll prolly say some things I shouldn't. Simply put, they're a "class group," but we didn't hit very well yesterday either. But Monday is a new day, and we'll come prepared to play. Who does everyone else have this week in district play?

Hooper, is Cheatham Co. down compared to past years, or did they just not play well yesterday? We've got them later in the year.

  14. Looks like our district is competitive from top to bottom this year. Everybody still has a chance to win it. We play Springfield tomorrow. Good luck to everyone the rest of the week.

  15. We played a good game today. Hill pitched very well, regardless of the 5 runs they posted. He got tired in the end and gave up a couple two-run shots, but we had a big enough cushion to let a few go. We had 3 HR's ourselves, one from Owsley and two from Pirtle, including a grand slam. Surprisingly, we never saw McDowell until the 6th inning when they were down 8-1. Not sure the reasoning behind it all, but that's also not my call. We play Westmoreland on friday. Good luck to everyone else the rest of the week.
