  1. This will be a good game. Joe Jackson will bring his A game. DC & their fans will have the house rocking. The coaches in this game will have their work cut out for them. White Station usually bounces back after a big lost.
  2. This will be a good game. The South Memphis fans will have the house rocking like last year against DC.
  3. Memphis Melrose is back on track. This team is the best Memphis has to offer....
  4. The Tennessean says McGavock won 62-61 but TSSAA website site shows Franklin vs Overton on Tuesday. Does anybody know who won?
  5. Chris will be too old next year. A hardship can't help him with that....the only thing JJ can do for Chris is to help him get to a good prep school. (remember he tried his best to get BTW point guard Martavious Newby for that reason) An outstanding coach and really talented players will move Southwind above the pack. The city of Memphis has plenty of talented schools but unfortunately, there is only a hand full of good coaches. (one hand)
  6. Melrose will lose Chris Jones next year. The coaching has to get better or they will not go that far next year. Chris is a big part of that offense.
  7. This Southwind team is really tough. They have some solid players plus an outstanding coach. They also have one of the best Freshman nationally. Southwind will be a powerhouse for years to come.
  8. Who will win this high powered showdown tonight? Joe (The Real Thing)Jackson vs Chris (Mighty) Jones University of Memphis recruit vs Tennessee recruit
  9. What did Buckner do that deserved 2 technicals? Was Buckner warned about his actions? Did the official give the coach a reason for the technical? (I can answer that because the coach stated that he didn't give him a reason for the second technical) There were kids throughout the tournament that did the same or worst things and they didn't receive 2 technicals. There was something fishy about that 2nd technical. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  10. Buckner is a talented fundamentally sound basketball player. He is the 30th ranked player in his class. Some of the people you're comparing Buckner to was not ranked that high. Unfortunately, kids will make mistakes. It is all apart of growing up.
  11. Mr. Basketball was decided two weeks before the state tournament. Joe is the type of player that shows little to no emotion. He didn't go to the scorers table to look in the scorer's book. Wow, where did that come from? He is a kid and sometimes kids don't make the right decisions. If you noticed, Joe always walks with his head down. Maybe, you interpreted that as pouting. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  12. coacht, the stats are impressive, on the otherhand, the competition Joe Jackson play against is tougher. Joe have impressive stats against tough competition. Kelly is a really good player but Joe is nationally ranked. I think they made the decision based on the fact that Joe will win it next year.
  13. There was only one technical called. The whole team was not dunking. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  14. Fulton is going home today..... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. I told everybody that NE was a team that would beat this overrated Bearden. Bearden looked just like an averaged team that played a weak schedule and they got exposed. The substitutions did ultimately destroy this team but I was not impressed. Bearden is a good team but they were not the number 1 team in the state. The people that voted on these polls are once again wrong...lol.... At this point, before any East team is rated number one in the state, they need to play some top West teams solidify their position. I remember when McMinn was undefeated and Liberty was the best team in the state but McMinn was ranked number 1 because they were undefeated. Liberty played a brutal schedule that year and when they met in the state Liberty blasted McMinn. congrats to NE on a great victory...
  16. Thanks Beavo5....BTW vs Bolivar sounds like a good western showdown.... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. I told all the nay sayers that NE could beat this overrated team. Bearden is good but they were highly overated. They played a soft schedule and they got beat by good team that fought hard to the end.
  18. He is not 6'10. He is a good kid with average skills.
  19. Good information from the Tennessean...
  20. There isn't any team that plays majority of their games outside of their own city.....are you kidding me? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  21. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. Bearden has to be ready for them because this is their first time making it the big show....RE & White Station has been there before.... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. I wouldn't be surprised at all. Beech is a good team. RE wins this one by single digits. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. The lone rule of the draw that set the brackets for the Division I boys basketball tournaments was that schools from the same region be on opposite sides. This is how the draw looks: BEST DRAWS Class A: Temple Temple (26-5) not only drew the team in the field with the most losses ??” Cloudland (20-10) ??” but it was also bracketed opposite Manassas and Humboldt, the two favorites. Mr. Basketball finalist Jeremy Sexton and the Crusaders have a very manageable path to the final. Class AA: Booker T. Washington Despite outstanding teams this decade, B.T. Washington (27-2) has struggled in the postseason and squandered several opportunities to add to its 2001 championship. This year the bracket sets up nicely for the Warriors, who can??™t see a ranked team until the final. Class AAA: Raleigh Egypt For a loaded field, the Pharaohs (33-2) are in decent shape. White Station got the best first-round draw against Red Bank (20-14), but could get No. 1 Bearden in the next round. No. 2 Raleigh Egypt avoids both contenders until the final and is a favorite to beat Beech on Thursday. WORST DRAWS Class A: Manassas, Humboldt Humboldt (33-0) has been ranked first and Manassas (24-2) second most of the season. Last year these two West Tennessee powers played in the sectionals, and Manassas won en route to the state final. This year one of the two favorites will be eliminated by noon Wednesday. Class AA: Livingston Acad. These Wildcats (32-2) are capable of winning a title, but it??™s not going to be easy. Mr. Basketball finalist Chase Dunn and Co. open with No. 6 Bolivar, a state regular that just pummeled Marshall County. Defending champion No. 3 Fulton is likely waiting in the semifinals. Class AAA: Northeast No favors for Coach Al Cooper??™s squad, making its first trip to state. The Eagles (26-6) must match up with a bigger and equally athletic group in Bearden, led by 6-9 center Demonte Simpson. If they pull the shocker, perennial power White Station likely awaits.
