  1. i wouldnt say that the seedings mean nothing....some teams match up against others better depending on pitching and other things...i havent been posting becuase we havent had many games this week...just the whh and hume fogg game both of which we won...not overwhelming wins but wins none the less...i think seedings matter in that maybe not 1st round but 2nd round match-ups are key...because im assuming except for whoever plays mcewen will pitch there best...i dont know...frankly i just know that we HAVE to win out to get 1st....with houston losing 3 games though east25 we have the oppurtunity of beating them twice and yall slipping into the 4th spot...because that would give them 5 losses and i believe they still play ca twice which will royaly screw one or both of those teams seedings because both are hanging on like a thread for the 1 and 2 seeds but you could say the same about us and jo byrns as well..right now we are all tied with 3 losses...and the game against jo byrns will obvisously give an indication of who might be taking the season title....should be a good game especially on their field....but lets say we lose to them, well they should be sitting comfortable in 1st but well see...i have been getting the impression though they have not played to their standards but honestly we havent either....if it was not for our defense and pitching we would lose many games lately.....east25 give me a shout sometime and we can really talk baseball because of our coacht policy i feel as though i must hold back...615-364-3797...
  2. we have not played them yet...we play them in a double-header next monday..we have 3 remaining district games...we are 8-3 in district play....ca is something and 3...houston is evidently 6-2..so that means they have alot of district games left...they must obvisously have 6 games in a 10 day period...wow thats a lot of games...jo byrns is now 7-3..east robertson what are yall??? correct me if im wrong i didnt look at yalls site but yall have lost 5 district games...and that should be by record our top 5....but i believe east lit is a hot team when #7 pitches and whh is a dangerous #7 seed right now when hill is on the mound...i will take back my statement previously about how i'm not quite sure that our district is one of the toughest..i do now firmly believe that but to all 10-a teams we should not and cannot be content with winning district...this is the year someone from district 10a goes far...besides used to be davidson....good luck and maybe some end of the year pushes can scramble our district around...
  3. im so tempted to give you my picks not that they will be right like yours or anyone elses but since the lost to east lit. we are forbidden to give any insight or predictions on any game especially our games becuase coach anderson got upset about it and if it aint giving a score or analysis of a game played then i cant say anything..that is why yall have seen a decline in ncs reports or topic talking....cuz coach gave a "speech" so no one really says anything anymore...but today we won 4-3 against whh in extras...yes the game was close but we got the short end of many calls....thats a simple way of saying the game was close...outfield ump was just god awful...i mean for both teams he was making the call before the ball or runner even got to the bag....bad outfield umping but we ncs had many oppurtunities but never cashed in....we started off ripping the ball and then still hit the ball but got caught in a few line drive double plays or called out at the plate kinda plays that never went our way so yea we had a fight on our hands but finally we won....anyone else play today and your predictions are close to mine...i just dont know about the jo byrns and ncs being #1 or #2....we'll play for that obvisously....but east robertson beat ca again...a favor i simply ask...and good job east lit. that pitcher is a stud although it seemed that he lost velocity on his fastball in the 2nd game...but i mean that behind the plate ump was stright awful that game as well...you know come to think bout it we havent had many good umps this year...is it a ncs thing or does everyone else get bad umps??
  4. i dont think tuck is trying to say anything to any regards about yall being a good or bad team... i honestly believe he is saying that CA is first in district and it is there game to lose..you know??? its like saying that someone like we'll say the braves are supposed to beat the mets...yes the braves are always on top of the east but this year the mets just so happen to be in first...thats the best way of putting or that i can...we play whh on monday, hume fogg on tuesday, and then jo byrns friday....good luck to everyone and we'll be seeing everyone at our place for districts....which i have to say our field is in such nice shape...outside of shelby park i believe our field is one of the best to play on around this area....
  5. well this monsoon that came through this mourning i doubt anyone will play but if yall do inform me....
  6. well east25....i hope yall can go out there and beat ca...i firmly believe with the way that yall have been playing yall can do it..like you said if we can win out in the rest of district play i believe we have the tie-breaker to take 1st but even still..1st sets up a good seeding but the tourney is where you want to win it...we played fairview today....i was surprised by all the rain but our field is in such good shape that it was just about in perfect shape because of all the hot weather our field actually needed some water....we beat fairview in a tight one 3-2....i dont know if anyone has played fairview this year from our district but they are a pretty good team....they make you make plays and they have good team speed and decent fielding....i personally think we could and should have beat them the 1st time we played them but we didnt come ready to play the 1st time and its over just like todays game...i still believe we're struggling a little too much for comfort at the plate...mostly in being discipline...it seems like we could at the early part of the season be patient work the counts and around the 3rd and 4th inning pitchers were already gased...but we have had some problems at the plate but i believe they are getting fixed....sure hope so....who all plays tomarrow???
  7. congrats on the win tuck....we won 11-1 against mcewen....we finally hit the ball solid....perhaps this might be the game that brought back the chemistry we have had up to our game against yall...since that we havent played good team ball but today we really focused..was a little more patient at the plate and got some solid strokes....id have to although we didnt just really jump on them early...it was probably the best overall game we have played all year in terms of team communication, playing small ball, and getting the job done...wes hit a long home-run...probably about 385-400 ft....somehwere in between there....it was one of those you knew it when he hit it...so who does everyone have for the rest of the week...we have fairview which will be an interesting game because of last time and then houston co. is houston any good??? i mean the way weve been playing any game will be close...but what do they have and what do they lack???
  8. i wouldnt make any comments on how ncs will be doing...we have obvisously overlooked or frankly played bad baseball lately....we havent hit the ball period and made some mental/communication errors that have hurt us tremendously....simply said we arent playing good baseball and i appreciate the fact that for whatever reason people are still defending ncs but i mean we havent deserved to go and play on our field the last few outings....so hopefully we can rebound and get back to our style of ball...i think once we get the bats rolling then things will work themselves out...its just that not one or two people are slumping but the whole team...im not taking anything away from east robertson...their pitcher was good against us but i think east25 can agree that we didnt hit either rather runners were in position to score or not....and bigchief from eat lit or ca.... we just aint hitting and its very frustrating....o well hopefully we can turn it around...provided we win out and are able to beat jo byrns and with a loss to ca along the way we can still get first in district....but thats a lot to have happen so we just need to go out and play good baseball and let the rest fall where it may...
  9. to eastbaseball25....yes i was the 2nd baseman when we played yall and i led off...curious but obvisously you dont have to say...who are yall planning on pitching against us?? i say this early and i dont want to bite my tounge but after the ca loss i along with the other seniors will have us ready for friday because we are determined not to lose another district game...so im not saying this as a threat or trash talk but bring your best because im positive we will be focused...well unless people deicide to take things lightly and well screw up again in which case im sure yall will see coach anderson a little mad...lol...and that is in nice terms...im sure yall remember last year when he threw the fungo...yea we dont want that happening ever again...
  10. well after taking in the 1st district loss which wasnt easy i believe/hope we can come out and perform to our fullest potential which i still dont believe we haven't reached yet at this point in the season. our district has started to take form in postions and seeing where teams fall in a level of competitiveness and match-ups. i dont believe anyone expected to have ca at the tops tied with ncs for the district but hey baseball and well any sport is filled with surprises. how are the rankings looking now that district play is about half over. do any of you believe ca has what it takes to stay at the top?? i believe if they continiue to play solid i dont see how they could lose many more outside of a re-match to jo byrns. anyways im curious as to who would start the new forum about (ncs going all the way) speaking for ncs...no one on our baseball team would post something like that..personally the ca loss opened up our eyes to what we do need to improve on...no one is gurenteed anything and im mad that someone would post that just simply to start stuff...i'd much rather be flying under radar then people expose ncs especially in disrespect...i firmly do not believe that post was started in respect...but w/e..lets just play ball
  11. well ncs just got beat by ca....im really upset and upset off right now because i tried to tell the guys that this game was a huge game but nobody seemed to care..its as if everyone is still content and all happy about jo byrns but teams like ca are the teams that you have to look out for because they are deceptively good...in all honestly that is soo hard to say about ca but they have come a long way...well the door that yall talked about is open and we have to play ball now and get our heads screwed on before we come out and play poorly and have east robertson dominate us...when i say this it is out of frustration...ca just made some good plays and the plays that we typically make just didnt go our way...two diving catches were dropped and well our 2nd baseman just didnt make a play that could have got us out of an inning which led to them scoring two runs...o well we just have to come out and play ncs baseball..by the way the score was 5-2...anyways im going to go before i post something that would get me in trouble...mcdowell pitched but again he didnt bring his stuff....
  12. satars 12 is not from ncs....trust me i know for a fact..he is just another person who is interested in district 10 baseball and voices his opinion..im not saying i agree with any or everything he says because i think jo byrns is a good team but i like anyone else cannot control what he wants to say...all i can confirm is that he isnt from ncs...i wouldnt say that we have one of the toughest districts in state...to my understanding our cross district with forrest and cascade is decent and teams from the west supposely play good baseball...i probably like many of people who post on district 10a dont know much about halls, coalfield, huntland....etc. but they are supposed to be good and when checking their rankings based on win/loss they do look pretty good, but that doesnt matter baseball is a game of match-ups. ncs had a really good match-up with jo byrns because of trey's ability to throw lots of junk...keep in mind that good pitching beats good hitting anyday...you'll here it all the time in football that defense wins championships and thats what it takes in baseball in the form of pitching...good luck to all the rest of the week...
  13. i appreciate the credit...if i knew what postion you played then i'd be dishing out the respect because most of yall can mash when it comes to hitting...i got to be honest when yall went through warm-ups i was like..alright they came to play... im not saying yall didnt show up but we simply played great baseball and really had yall off balance with trey...he's got the junk to shut good hitting teams down....wesley was border line on grades on friday but obvisously was ok by him playing today....we didnt hit as well as we could but thats been the story all year..we hit enough and it seems always in the same inning so we put 2,3,4 runs up in an inning and most teams are like dang that was quick..it was just a one run or 2 run game....that happened again today..we all hit at the same time and put runs on the board and played great defense....keep it up im sure trey just threw yall off and yall will continue to mash...
  14. it's a final....ncs 5, jo byrns 1...trey hicks for ncs pitched a 3 hitter...we played great defense turning i know at least 2 double plays....we jumped on them early and held secure to our lead....it was 3 to nothing at the end of the 1st...then the game was a pitching dual and then we added 2 more in the 5th and jo byrns put together back to back doubles in the 7th to score their only run...good game...i dont believe there was any errors by either team..we just came and played good basbeball....usn is tomarrow..
  15. around the mid-state area...i believe friendship, forrest, cascade, ncs, and jo byrns have good shots at making some noise at state..but in no disrepect im ratehr curious what does east and west tn have in talent in baseball..i know usj moved up...but ive never heard of coalfield or OS....
  16. i think houston is or will be like the majority of the teams in our district this year...lots of youth except for jo byrns...i mean even us (ncs) are a very young team its just that we dont have a middle school team so our sophmores are playing on junior experience...we have 2 current senior starters..myself playin either 3rd or 2nd and our centerfielder...we have 2 juniors starting and the rest are sophmores or freshman..so ncs unless they have no leadership after we graduate are going to be competitve the next 2 years at least...rumors are going around that montessori is shutting down and kennedy is coming to our school but i dont know that for sure...its here-say for now...but to my understanding he is a good pitcher and most know what he did in basketball...
  17. well tuck since your the only person that i know represents jo byrns on coacht...i am looking very forward to this game tomarrow...in all honestly i hope its a great game becuase their is soo much hype and attention for this one game...it could set a 2 game margin between us which you know as well as i do is huge...or put us in a 3 way tie with CA... although i was looking foward to this game on friday as much as tomarrow..id have to say that we were fortunate to have that rain out because we would have had a few key starters ineligable for grades...our grade policy is really strict this year but we cant do nothing about except for keep our grades up...on the flip side i believe everyone should be eligable..not that i would make any excuses if we had starters missing or not but id feel better knowing that if yall beat us it was with our best 9 out on the field...andy is back after his 3 week suspension but i dont know if he will be rusty...and our lf, 2nd baseman (if im not playing there), and mcdowell are all eligable now.... so i obvisously feel better about the game...well good luck tomarrow...should be a good one...
  18. to be completely honest...i dont know if he is or not...after we had batting practice today i had the indication that he will relieve if at all....it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that jo byrns hits fastballs very well and yes wesley does have good off-speed i dont know if he could get away with it all game unless he pitches like he does against yall...so to anwser your question i dont think so but we'll see...
  19. i'm not trying to run down any team but if scroll through all posts referring to district 10a you will find several posts that talk about the "weaker" teams talking about how they should be very good and making their respected run at district. then i get on here and read about those same teams that should of won or played very poorly...i'm not trying to cocky but almost doesnt cut it...you hear coaches say this all the time...you do or you dont...i hope that we do not get beat this year by any district opponents but i will take a loss from jo byrns the same as one from any other district team..we must simply get better...i dont care who we play, you always have to show up.
  20. so east...this is gut check time....about 5 district games...this will make yall or break yall...good luck until friday..well c-ya then.
  21. how often do you see high school pitchers on a consistent basis touching 87+? and ok if a pitcher does throw 87+ but missing it wont matter because a disciplined hitting team will not swing and if a pitcher is thorwing 87+ im sure that his fastball isnt his strike out pitch because any good pitcher will be using his off-speed to strike out batters...i mean what kind of argument is being presented??? do you want us to admit that the game was closer than it should have been??? yes the game was...o well did we win yes... i sit here laughing at the situation because whh is happy to have been in a baseball game...but you didnt win...close but no cigar...rockman..."we're lucky we won that game." no correction your lucky you were in the game. if you take away a softball size field and the wind blowing then the game would have never been close...correct me if im wrong a team having 17 k's should be saying i cant believe we were in that game. i mean come on the only way yall touched wesley was by simply guesing here comes a fastball and yall are already falling forwards...i gurentee if he pitches against yall again yall will not see that many fastballs...jo byrns can vouch like any other team that a win is a win and it doesnt matter how pretty it is...and it looks as though that is one thing that yall are lacking
  22. never once did i say that if jo byrns continues to play the way they've been playing will they lose. i was simply stating that both teams have good records and are playing good baseball. this one game like any other future game cannot and will not be based on how a team is playing at that time....im sure jo byrns was not expected to lose to CA after coming back from florida playing good but unfortunately for them they did. you can debate and i can try to defend or give multiple reasons of why the whh vs ncs was as close or not close but simply put did we win?? and at the end of the game was it close??? im not trying to make you feel bad or anything if you hung with a team that has key members in the line-up suspended but i aint goin to find excuses or reasons of why the game was close.. we won and thats all that matters. yea yall hit wesley but ask east robertson if wesley is on...how easy is he to hit...i mean i know yall are happy for taking him yard but i mean look at the dimensions of your field!!! go try and ask to play on white house's field or something. but no i do give yall credit for staying with us, all teams to this date have laid over once we get momentum...so i do applaud yall for that....keep it up and the ball might start bouncing yall's way.
  23. If you keep playing the way ya'll have been playing??? please man...i respect most of the comments that you post but if yall continue to play the way you've been playing....honestly tuck it's not hard to go out and put up 9,10,etc. runs on teams that are mediocre at best... you should be beating teams like that if yall are that good which i do respect ya'lls potential and ability to hit. now i know that if i say pitching wins ballgames and then if i attempt to say we have better pitching...i know you will say well then you dont know jo byrns very well...well its not like im an avid fan and watch yall play every game....i know yall can mash at hitting but in 5 years of facing yall...you've never had a shut down pitcher...im not discrediting yall's staff but pitching should be equal on both teams...hitting about the same and veteren leadership as well...it will come down to who capitalizes on the other's mistake not if yall keep playing the way yall have because we post a 10-1 record so if thats the case if we just play the way we play then we will win....come on man...two good teams playing good baseball let's leave it at that...
  24. the reason why CA is not taken as a threat is because they lack the pitching to shut a team down. i understand that if you have a great defense behind a pitcher then it doesnt matter as much but in games like the ncs vs ca game they couldnt get to the balls we hit because they were line drives up the middle, in the gap, etc. also there hitting is not great either. yes they are average and will put the ball in play but again lack the ability to hit lights out.....ultimately although yes it is CA who gets the win, i think the reason why they have been successful is yes hard work but other teams beating themselves rather it be mental or "one bad inning".... all that said i do believe CA is a strong candidate for 3rd because they are fundamentally sound on the basics of the game and having fun...other teams have struggled with basics or seem to be fronting over a loss hear or there... to everyone...ENJOY IT!!!! everyone catches breaks or can look back on a season and find something good about it....good luck (looking forward to friday)
  25. jo byrns /ncs should be a great game.... this game could very well decide districts provided that ncs nor jo byrns loses any gams in district throughout the rest of the season...saying that im tired of everyone talking about jo byrns and ncs... its understood that we (ncs) are supposed to be good and jo byrns....i want to hear some good chats and match-ups on other teams....i dont want to come across as though jo byrns and ncs just have to show up but what are some other good match-ups??? is houston any good??? any opinions on a 3rd, 4th, 5th race for districts to challenge jo byrns and ncs???? also i dont believe whh should or could have won...on a normal fence most likely none of those home-runs would have been home-runs....i mean yeah i agree with east that there better....but for whatever reason and it makes me mad our team doesnt show up for games in the cold...i think (we) look for reasons to cover for a close win...bad umpiring, cold weather...every team goes through it...if ncs shows up like we should, we can and will hand it to teams but in my opinion we havent completely shown up for whatever reasons..... i believe that jo byrns and ncs will have to show up and play great ball to beat one or the other...anyways give me some good match-ups for the rest of the season???? and potential upsets???
