  1. I was wondering if anyone had clear information what type of practicing is allowed during the high school season. The TSSAA website says the following: Question: Is it a violation for a registered athlete in baseball or softball to practice with an independent team? Answer: No provided he/she participates in practice situations only, (batting practice, infield practice, etc), provided no game situations are involved. It appears hitting in a batting cage is OK or working on a specific skill is OK but what about practice on the field. I f you have players practicing throwing to correct bases based on situations, would that be a game situation? What if a player in practice runs to first base and fielder tries to throw them out, would that be a game situation? How do you interpret this rule? Do your high school players practice any with the travel team during the season? Most important, Do you know how TSSAA interprets the rule?
