  1. Walker Valley and Bradley play at 4:00 friday at Cleveland High School. The winner of that game will play Cumberland at 6:00 and the "if" game at 8:00. Cumberland put Bradley in the losers bracket with a 2-1 ball game. The Bradley boys won district. It would be great to see The girls win too, but it will be a tough game if they advance, not to mention they would have to beat Cumberland twice. Bradley has to get by Walker Valley first though. And even though Bradley has beat them three times this year, I wouldn't count out Walker Valley just yet. WV seems to play tough against the better teams, though they seem to have lost to some weaker ones all year. In fact, Walker Valley has beaten Cumberland once this season. Who knows what may happen!
  2. Wow! Stone Memorial should have a tough team team next year. How many seniors do you have that leave? Bradley only loses two. However both of them are pitchers. We keep our sophmore pitcher, who is awesome. Some say she is the best we have now. Plus we have 2-3 pitchers who may very well step up to pitching varsity next year. So it doesn't appear to be an issue. I will definitely keep my eye on how Stone Memorial does next year. Good Luck!
  3. David, you may be able to answer a question that I have been wondering about. I heard the Cumberland County is building a new school and may change districts for you next year. How true is this and what is to be expected for you guys?
  4. Congratulations to Cumberland! You guys played a great game. The Cumberland picther has so much movement on her ball, much less the speed behind it. She did a good job. I should give your catcher a lot of credit too, because she saved a lot of pitches that should have been at the backstop. You also have a great defense to back it all up with. You definitely have a solid team, and have for years. We hope to see you in the championship! Be careful traveling! Especially if the weather gets bad! It seems strange that we have someone in our district that is hours away.
  5. Bradley is still missing a starter as well (She was out during the last Cumberlan/Bradley match-up as well). She has been out for several weeks. She had a surgery that takes time for the recovery process. I hope for a quick recovery to those Cumberland girls.
  6. Cumberland and Bradley are left in the winner's bracket to fight it out Tuesday 6:00 to secure a ride to the championship game. Bradley played tough and swept the game against Walker Valley with a 4-0 win despite an error or two. Cumberland beat Rhea Co., but only due to errors from Rhea. Rhea played a heck of a game. They came into the tournament in fourth place and beat fifth place Cleveland easily, only to play a great game against Cumberland. It will be an interesting game tomorrow. The last time Cumberland and Bradley met up, it was a 1-0 ball game. Congrats to the all-district team: Rachel McKay, Short Stop Hannah Suits, Left Field Britni Pearce, Center Field (Sorry, I wish I could list them all-but I only am certain of Bradley's)
  7. I am sorry to hear that. Perhaps the adrenaline will start pumping and they will be fine for the game. I hope so anyway. They do have a great team and it would be a shame for any of them to miss out ont he last district game of the regular season. I hope the best for them.
  8. Very true! They beat Powell 11-0 if I remember correctly in the Ooltewah tournament where Bradley placed second in the gold division as they struggled with GPS. Though Central was a tough loss, I guess they can be thankful it wasn't a district game. They did turn around with a win the next day against Rhea 11-1 (which is a lower ranked team in the district), but hopefully they have everything back on track.
  9. Cattbiddle, You are right. That was a dissapointing loss. There was a girl out for surgery and other circumstances that I will not go into out of respect for the team. But sure, they should have never lost that game. I completely understand and respect what you are saying, but your analysis is probably not fair. After-all Soddy Daisy barely held on to Cleveland with a 1-0 win this season-where just a week or so later Bradley beat Cleveland with ease 9-0. Does this say anything less of Soddy Daisy, considering Cleveland's record? Teams with less successfull records can have a good game. Bradley and Cumberland meet up tonight at Bradley's home field. This should determine who is ranked first in district for regular season play. It should be a good game. Thanks for your comment!
  10. Well, the rest of the teams have three or more district losses each. Although I will say that Cleveland Tennessee has three high schools in their division. Even though Bradley has four wins over the other Cleveland Teams (Walker Valley and Cleveland High), you can never bank on a definite win. With four losses to Bradley, the other two Cleveland teams have nothing to lose going into the district tournament. Hometown rivals can always put on a good show, even when least expected. The District tournament starts May 8th.
  11. It's a close run between Bradley and Cumberland. As of a week ago, Cumberland and Bradley both shared one district loss. I am wondering how Cumberland is doing now? These two teams meet up at Bradley's home field Thursday for a showdown. Bradley has done well this year having several big margin wins. Most of their losses were one-pointers. They have a roster of all-stars; and when they are on, they are hard to beat. Obviously Cumberland has a good team. They always do. Other than a loss to Walker Valley, I am not sure what their season has looked like. Can anyone share any information? (Congrats to Bradley's 11-1 win last night)
  12. I agree! And Cleveland's Heather Moore pitched the entire 13 innings. Just incredible!
  13. I just saw the best game of the season so far!!!!!! Yes, the Bradley/Cleveland softball game. I never saw two teams give so much effort and neither team ever gave up! Thirteen innings ending in a double play to win the game. It was one of those games that everyone walked away saying "WOW!" I know this game will be talked about for a long time. Now this is what softball is all about! BRADLEY WINS 5-4 Congrats to the following Bradley girls for making crucial plays: Leah Banks-pitching 10 great innings, not allowing a single run! (and just a sophmore) Britni Pearce-your diving catch in the outfield looked impossible, still wondering how you did it! The game was over without the catch! (Can we nickname you KimPossible-you do cheer afterall!) Keisha Dalton-your amazing hit put Bradley back in the game (pst...look out for this girl) Rachel McKay-great hits all game including the game winning RBI (This girl's bat is hot!)
  14. You are right, Bradley has a great defense, but don't count out their offense by any means. In the Chattanooga area High school stats last Friday, they had two girls listed in the top pitchers, and the center fielder you complimented..that is Britni Pearce who was listed with a comfortable lead as first for stolen bases. Granted, the season is early and a few teams may have not posted stats yet. With a little more consistency, Bradley's offense will be well-respected. In the preseason tourney, Bradley won 7-0 against East Ridge in an hour time limit game. They opened their season with a 9-0 win against Cleveland, and won a 10-0 game against Powel this weekend in a tournament.

    Cleveland

Congrats to Cleveland HS on the tournament..I love to hear that Bradley and Cleveland did well on the same weekend. Bradley was runner-ups in the Ooltewah Tournament. Just interested...who did Cleveland face in the tournament? Cleveland and Bradley play this Thursday at CHS's home field. Bradley had a 9-0 win against Cleveland earlier this year for opening season game, but everyone in the Cleveland area knows not to bank on that. When it comes to local rivals, these kids usually play with their hearts. You never know what can happen. I am looking forward to a great game. Trust me, I don't think the BHS girls are taking the previous score for granted.
  16. You may want to contact Bradley Central if you are still needing a team. I know their schedule is open. I am not sure if they would be interested; but if you are in a bind, it is a possibility that they could.
