Did you know that the Tennessee Titans gave a $1200 scholarship to one graduating senior (that played football) from each high school in the state of Tennessee. That's if the head coach, principal and guidance counselor nominated them and the student completed 50 hrs of community service from April - July. Each recipent has been invited to attend tomorrow's opening Titans game, there will be a presentation before the game, and the student & a guest receive field seats and also if the student attends a college 75 miles or less from Nashville they receive $50, more than 75 miles they receive $100 at the game for expenses. I believe out of the 300+ schools in TN only 200+ replied and about 150 students are planning to attend. Some of those attending are: Josh Barnes - Station Camp High attending Lambuth University Kyle Rodriquez - Lake Country High School attending Dyersburg CC Brad Sanders - Perry County H.S. attending Bethel College Grayson Elmore – Bradley Central H.S. attending King College Cal Welch - Trousdale County H.S attending Tennessee Tech Torrian Hall, Whites Creek H.S. attending Tennessee State University

Barnes accepted both football & baseball scholarships and signed on 6/22 with Lambuth.

Heard thru the grapevine, then confirmed with relative that 2006 Station Camp graduate Josh Barnes has verbally committed and will sign soon with Lambuth University in Jackson, Tn to play both football & baseball. Barnes attended all 4 yrs at SC. He was the only punter for the team and won All County punter. He also played tight end & def. end. Believe he currently holds a couple of school records in football. He played 3rd base & pitcher 4 yrs at SC and currently holds records in that sport also. He is the school's first baseball player to sign and might be the school's first 2 sport signee. CONGRATULATIONS JOSH!!

Anyone know the score from this game on Friday night? Planned to go but had something else come up. Who pitched for Gallatin? Have any of their seniors been looked at by any colleges? Believe they have 8 or 9 on the team. Caleb McGuire, Teedy Parker, Chris Sullivan, Josh Moore, Carlos Coward, Drew Satterfield, Bo Cook, are the only oens I can think of. Anyone know anything?

Scout talked about this the other night with my son. He said he was glad he chose that game to come to so he could see how he acted and performed under pressure. He was pitching we lost 3-1 but he said he was impressed with the way he controlled himself in his pitching with bases loaded, no outs, strikes out the next 3 batters. He was impressed that he didn't blame his team mates for their errors that allowed all 3 runs that night. He only got 1 good hit that night but scout talked to him for a long time and has been in contact again and sent another to look at him. As high school coach has told them over and over keep your cool no matter what even if no scouts around others and God are!
