  1. A good high shool coach instills first of all that education is the most important priority and in doing so instills a foundation beyond the playing field. He sets a high standard that becoming a great player goes beyond talent and emcompasses a well rounded knowledge that will help to perfect that player off the playing field also and far into his/her future. A good high school coach sets rules and imposes accountability and responsibility, whether he is loved or hated, whether he wins or loses, a good coach uses the necessary skills to earn respect and in that brings out from the players what is within them to succeed. A thirst for knowledge and understanding its necessity, a wonder and love for life, a compassion for fellow humans and a desire to succeed, the ability to overcome your mistakes and a love for the game-if a high school coach can do all that-He is a dang GOOD one.
  2. cold chills? sorry meant to be warm i keep the faith-for such a strong family is good God's will happens but God's faith is true We wonder we ask and we falter at times They are at a weak time and we shall support them Strong hands to hold up, Strong hearts to cry with and Strong legs to carry on God Bless
  3. Prayers from Dickson County I also lost a child at age 18 in a car accident 4 yrs ago. May God bless your families for the strenght to understand and heal with time. Hurt and pain will not remain, memories will take their place of times of love and laughter, that God will not erase. May I recommend a grief support group http://www.compassionatefriends.org/ God Bless
  4. for any player to make a mistake is common-no one is perfect for any player to get hurt-is sad and we wish that upon no one for any fan or player to laugh at anyone is very cruel-because i am sure that any player who makes a mistake or got hurt trying to make a play knows what is cost or what it means of course we expect good playing in all ballgames and the best make mistakes-but to call out any player to be laughed at is down right mean- this board is for "good" baseball" talk and laughing about any play is no joke
  5. I meant to add to that post The punishment was too severe, a game or two suspension at the most would have been sufficient. Sorry to hear the coach was suspended for the season
  6. Hmm been reading these posts about this coach who I dont know and in fact dont know where Morristown is, My son has been playing baseball for quite a few years since t-ball and I have always believed in letting the coach be coach and taught my son if you have a problem with your coach you tell him, not me. Now he is in high school baseball and our coach has a parent meeting and he says to us I am the coach, you teach your children and I coach the team. If you have a problem with me, come to me. If I have a problem with your child, I will come to them first, then you. As the coach, he decides who plays who sits who bats and whatever decision needs to be made as far as the team plays and he will also monitor the kids grades because if he isnt making the grades he isnt playing. Now we all know the coaches talk to the kids after the games as we wait and I ask my son sometimes what the coach says and mostly he tells me, Good game or we could have done better, he doesnt elaborate on it. More or less as the saying goes what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. My son knows enough if he has a problem he talks to his coach first and if serious enough then I am sure he would talk to me. But as far as whining about a few cuss words, my son would probably want to tell that team mate on that team a word or too. My son is taught there are many things in life that happen that you may not like, pick your battles son and in baseball your battle is on the playing field.
  7. Creek Wood has a strong team-and the best thing-they are a team-watch them play-coached well-has some strong players-will lose some seniors-sadly-but have a great bunch of boys who love baseball and listen well to the coaches who know alot
  8. my exact thought Bertier-thank you
  9. tsk tsk jealousy what's any sport without alittle controversy-will always be there, always someone having to personally insult, although very sad Seems much cant be found wrong with his game playing skills. Lets just enjoy baseball!
  10. hmmm 5 times in 2 yrs, how many games played per season? Have seen other teams players and fans act much worse more times without naming names. Remember they are still kids for awhile, and must say as a team -Creek Wood record is doing the talking this season.
  11. Who said he did those things? Those are rumours started by sore losers, dont believe everything you hear. Go to the games and see for yourself. I have seen a very good ball player with alot of respect for the game in all aspects. Perfect? Who is? Go Red Hawks!
  12. Creek Wood 16 Fairview 4
  13. this district is full of GREAT talent and to all the boys-great job-fun to watch a good game-and see the plays-amazed at how they really do it-quick fast cool under pressure-think on their feet-i bet any other district-#11 has some dang good players-wish the best for the seniors playing hope all recognized-middle tn has some good ball going on-makes good games
  14. creek wood wins district-lets say given as it is-then on to district regional
  15. i would be cheering for Harpeth and will be if they are the winners in districts or Sycamore or Fairview-but that is time to come-as I did cheer for Lipscomb in Football after Creek Wood loss-I went to Lipscomb regional game after Creek Wood loss to Jackson keep the faith for hometown teams but home starts at home and then then moves outward
  16. no misunderstanding and I commend Harpeth for playing so well in the tourney but district ratings mean alot-dont they-until? they play well when it doesnt count? Never said any team wasnt good-They all work hard to win-lots of ball games per the schedule takes toll at times-but ratings are by district after all and then?
  17. Individual play ratings are for the college scouts and coaches to commend and I am sure all coaches do that for their players, but as a TEAM-Creek Wood is great in team work-they show the drive the spirit and love of Baseball-as do their coaches-those coaches and players work the field-and as I said earlier it is a beautiful field-they above all expect the players to excel academically and be good people on and off the field
  18. saying Creek Wood is number 1 in district play-not by hr or rbi-i mean it is team play and Creek Wood is that -A Team-they show it!
  19. funny how players know-heard them say we should have run losing like that-some parents need to stay out of it-this is high school ball-parents let the coaches coach-not little kids anymore-they know what is right and wrong in baseball-
  20. Hazen and Bowers hit it out-2 RBI's each-all played good ball-although seems Northeast parents upset with Northeast coaches for having the boys run poles after the game
  21. I believe Creek Wood is #1 in District 2 Homers today 390 field and it is a beautiful field-won against NorthEast 9-0
  22. I believe McCanless had 11 Strikeouts against DC-if I counted correcty Way to Go Red Hawks
  23. both need a win-but wishing cheatham tromps them and at home-go cubs
  24. you really didnt say 30-40 runs-jinxed sycamore who is lucky at best now wishing cheatham brings all and proves that county rivals-older has the upper hand
