First of all Charles Lindsey no longer works for knox county, been gone almost a year I think. Secondly all you want to address is how your son has been treated. As I said previously I'm glad you son has been treated with respect. But I know many many more than have been treated very poorly, and so have there parents. I guess we will agree to disagree. I stand firmly behind everything I have said, and I will continue to say it.

Well with all do respect LMitch, I have talked to the current coaches, and the AD and have gotten lied to and they have talked very disrespectfully to me and some other parents. Your so hung up on what a wonderful role model Hutchins is, have you heard his mouth when he talks to some of these boys. I know for a fact there have been other parents complain about various things, and and indeed there sons playing time was cut. I glad your son has been treated so well, but I am here for the other 50+ boys and parents that are not treated well. If you such a strong coach supporter, then how about mingling with the crowd and listening to the comments, go to the middle school and listen to those parents, stand outside the locker room and watch the boys hang their heads after another defeat, go school with the boys and listen how the rest of the student body makes fun of them, count the proceeds from the gates and see how is dwindles down with every home game, give a ride home to some of the boys and listen to how they feel, and what they say, go to Alcoa and see how many SD zoned students are playing football there. I am not sure you have a true clear picture from the stands as to what goes on a daily basis. It's easy to be happy when you son is treated well, but there are many other boys on that team that deserve to be treated as well. I try to speak for those that can't or want, some are have told me they are afraid to talk to the coaches, or the AD.

I well continue to state my feelings about the SD program until I see it improve. I have been involved with this program for many years, and have never seen it in such a mess. I am very supportive of the BOYS on the team, I know how hard they work. But I think the system is failing them. I thinks the AD is failing the entire South Knox Community. I feel that the football program will never succeed as long as the current AD is at SD. I'm glad LMitch has had such a great experince with the football program, but it is your senior year, and I would guess that football might be your secondary sport. Some of the other boys on the team, this is all they have. Every where I go in South Knox, other S. Knox folks want to talk about what is happening to the SD football program. I wish these folks would stop talking about it, and do something about. Make you feelings heard. The more people that come forward the better it will be. The parents of the football team at the middle school are transfering their children right and left because they don't want to have to deal problems at SD. I am afraid that it's only going to get worse before it gets better. I believe the AD will not be happy until the football program is totally destroyed. I know he reads these posts, if he were truly concerned about the program, and the boys and the parents he be doing all he could to help us. But as usual he stays as far away from the parents as possible. If he truly cared abouth this program he would hold some type of meeting with the parents to resolve of the questions we have.

Well, Well, Well were are the coaches wifes and the 2 supporters of Hutchins today??? Where are the how wonderful this coach is, and what a mentor and final example of a coach comments today??? Any comments on the kicker issue, what kind of play calling is that? How about continually running the ball up the middle, time after time, after time and never getting anywhere. Why keep calling the same STUPID plays. Why when you 3rd and inches you go to the shotgun, and lose yardage. I swear if I didn't know any better I would think the administration and hutchins want SD to lose. And anyone have comments on the wonderful AD, the one and only Clark Duncan...WOW what a supporter!!!! If I'm not mistaken the AD has a hand in the scheduling of the games, and some how we end up with Maryville as homecoming. What a great night for SD football. What is it going to take to get the SD community, heard. When you sit in the stands, friday nights, home or away, there is not one positive comment about the coaching, or the AD. And when the coaches blame the boys for the loses it is sickening. The boys are only playing how they are coached. The are running the plays that they are told too. Most of the boys on the team don't even know how to play the position they are in, and they really don't seem to understand the game of football, our defense sits back and waits for the receivers to catch the ball before they react, they don't know how to wrap up and tackle, our offense wants to run side to side and scamper around in the back field, before trying to get yardage, and the list goes on. These boys are not being taught how to play football. They can only be as good as they are coached. SD has not has this much talent in a few years, and it is being wasted. The whole situation the program in makes me sick

Well said greasedlightnin.. great comments they are all so true, all are so depressing. It's ashamed that we all as a community and a team have to keep eduring this. But I am very very proud of all the boys that keep showing up at practice, and how they keep trying, and they keep working hard. Its just ashamed that the rewards they reap are few and far between.

Well said footballlov... As far as what the rest of you have said, to my understanding, is just move, just give it more time, just deal with, blah blah blah, same garbage different day. Are we suppose to wait until maybe our grandchildren are playing, is that how long we should wait????Are you saying the SD program has always been bad, and we should just deal with it. As far as moving I guess we could take the easy way out and move, I guess we could move in with Clark, he still lives in powell, not in the SD community, or even move in with Hutchins, he lives in Dandridge, he doesn't even live in Knox County. To who ever said the AD doesn't need to hang around practice thats about the stupidest thing I have ever read, its his job to see what is going on and practice. Maybe if he were around more he would know what problems we do have. Maybe if he were more friendly to the parents we could all sit down like adults and try to straigthen out this mess. Until Clark Duncan is man enough to hold a meeting with the Coaches, and the parents, I will always view him has another worthless administrator, taking a salary for doing absolutely nothing. Go ahead HTV, you seem to be his best buddy, tell we will be waiting............... An to everyone else including Jet21, and maybe even lolligag unless your currently involved in the SD program on a daily basis, unless you know every player on the team by first name, unless you've seen the hurt in their eyes, unless you've seen them work so hard for nothing, your comments are worthless

True football is just a game, and true we are preparing them for real life, but how would you feel if you had worked, and done your absolute best and didn't receive any type of compensation, monetarily or otherwise. These boys get no praise or encouragement what so ever from the coaches or administration at SD. So unless your living this nightmare you can't not give me this line of bull about preparing for the future. I know of no one that works just for the heck of it. Would you work for, four years without any type of pay?????

Still no one has explained to me how I'm suppose to explain to my son that we are in a rebuilding stage, it takes time, it will get better, blah blah, yada yada. Meanwhile he is just wasting his high school days committed to a program working his butt off, giving his all to the program, and the program continues to fail him. What are we teaching these boys, work your butt off for nothing. The team is so lost and undisciplined they have recently been stealing from their own booster club. Hutchins should lay the hammer down on the boys that have been stealing, and they should be removed from the team, no matter if they are starters or not. But he doesn't have the respect of all the boys. Check out the sideline during a game, they are talking to people on the fence, they have earphones in, listening to music, throwing there helmets, some even just flat out lay down on the sidelines. It looks like a lounge on the sidelines. The boys have stopped playing as a team, and are only worrying about their own stats. The team is falling apart, and some really good atheletes are going suffer. Hutchins will eventually move on and find another job, coaching somewhere else, but some of these boys will never have the chance to play football again. Now please tell me how right is this???

Oh please We've already heard this garbage, quit talking about the past coaches. What do you tell the boys that have played 4 years and have nothing to show. These boys are being well supported at home, thats the only place they are supported. Unless you have a son on the team you have no ideal what you are talking about. Why don't you talk to some of the seniors who have given their all and tell them it just takes time. When will they get their time. How many more boys do we have to graduate and tell them the same thing? You know if your on the outside looking in, you can speculate all you want too, but things look alot different if your on the inside looking out. The only light at the end of our tunnel is another train.

No way most people I talk too have lost a respect for Duncan, we really thought we were getting a knight on a white horse when he came here. But he doesn't support the community, or the Atheltic program. The only good sports program we have is the baseball team, and it was well established before he came, the other programs, he has managed to rip apart. If the Powell people want him back I'm sure SD people would be glad to help him clean out his office.

This was a very difficult one for the boys. I think finally the team has lost all their drive and motivation. It is true that SD has some playmakers, but they have to be taught how to make the plays happen. They have to be coached. There are alot of atheletes on this team, there are boys that have given everything they have to this team, and to this school, and for what, nothing. These boys are not being supported by the school, or by the administration. We can just about count on one hand how many wins we have had since Duncan hired Hutchins, 4 years ago. Thats should speak volumes. This community should be outraged that this continues to go on. Some of these boys have given their heart and soul to this program for 4 years, and have nothing to show for it. This was supposed to be the "'year", according to Hutchins, now what. What will happen when most of the "big boys" graduate. What will be left ? Whats left will probably quit if the coaching doesn't change. IF Duncan really cared he would be in the locker room looking into these boys eyes telling them how sorry he is for what he has done to SD football. If he were the fine upstanding administrator he would relieve the coach of his duties, and get some fresh blood for these boys. But he stands on the sidelines, with his pearly whites, his native tan, and the ever popular loafers, and does absolutely nothing. He is the biggest waste of knox county money that we have. I saw the fine CLARK DUNCAN FACILITY last night, I think SD should name something after him, maybe the big arrow on the hill, cause he's really stuck it to SD, maybe the scoreboard, for all the loses, maybe the big SD, for Stupid Duncan, or better yet how about the disgusting bathrooms, because he has sent SD straight to the toliet. I wonder how you found anybody that supports the current program. Again I will tell you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about and everytime you post something you appear even more clueless. Oh by the way the previous coach was 4 years ago, find something new. Please try to stay in the plains, and leave SD post alone. You really have no business commenting, and you really have no knowledge of anything about SD. You are completely right, you don't have any idea what your talking about. You don't know how he is on or off the field. So your opinion doesn't really matter to us. So I suggest you try to mind your own business. Believe you me we would love for Coach Hutchins to come to the plains.
