MBA had CBHS on the ropes all game too....looks like they aren't quite as good as everyone in Memphis thinks....
ok first of all your looking at a couple of games. i dont care who it is, if you go 37-1 during the regular season you've got to be a good team, and its not like cbhs plays a weak schedule either. They aren't unbeatable, thats been proven, but they are good regardless of what you think. Second, I'm from Memphis and have no relation to CBHS. I have no reason to lie about how good they are unlike many other people who post crap on here. Actually i know very few people who know anything about coacht.com. Apparantly this is something thats popular in middle and east tenneseee. so when you say "everyone in Memphis thinks" your taking what one or two people posted and generalizing the whole city of memphis.

Well in this post everyone is going to have their say in which side is best...being from the east i must say that the east is...i just think there is more competition year in and year out with a ton of teams that could go to state if they didn't have to face Farragut, SD, DB, and others...those are just a few powerhouses over here...i don't wnat to rub people the wrong way that is just my personal opinion.
Yeah i think your right. I myself live in the west. i do know that the memphis area is consistently ranked as one of top baseball hotspots for recruiting year in year out. Not to say that the middle or the east isnt nearly as talented because i know that there are some great players that have a great shot of being drafted this year or later. As a whole Tennessee plays some of the best baseball in the country.

based off how teams are doing at state and just overall talent, which area of Tennessee plays the best baseball?

16u quality catcher and hitter, new to the area this year. experienced travel ball player from southwest ohio, looking to join a good summer team. familiar with all the the travel ball reqirements and demands.
what area of Tennessee are you currently living in?

Oh thanks. I didn't realize all those teams were city teams.
yeah thats nothing really to brag about. unfortunately alot of the city schools in Memphis have players who can barely catch and throw.

We played twice back in April. The first game they pitched Packer, who is just nasty... haha, and he had 20 K's. The second game was back and fourth and we just ran out of pitching, not to take anything away from them. The first guy we threw was out of our rotation, not at all syaing he isnt good... he leads a good pitching staff in ERA with 1.09.
CBHS is going to be tough to beat this week, I hope we get a shot at them.
And Matt Ridings is #1 in our rotation. I believe he is 9-1 with that loss coming to Mountain Vista in the Westminster National Classic (Miami) over Spring Break. Of the 18 outs he had 15K's and no earned runs. They scored on a passed ball... eventually winning 1-0 in 6
who has he signed with??
The thing about christian brothers is that they are so balanced. They draw some of the best Memphis has to offer year in year out. Suprisingly, this was suposed to be a down year for them. They may not be unbeatable but i do think make a nice run in the state tourney. I guess will see.

I was just wonderin if there are any travel teams that are goin to have try outs this summer in West Tennessee. If there is, let me know because I'm tryin to find somewhere to play.
Age? Position? I play for the Apak Allstars based in Memphis. Very competitive. Lookin for 1 or 2 more pitchers. Go to website for more info.

Just wondering if Baker and Sharp pitched and the results...thanks

I know Baker pitched for cordova and i think Matt Nucio pitched for batlett. Bartlett won 3-0

McCallie wont even take the east. Webb returns 4 pitchers with state tournament wins last year (3 of them complete games) and have more offense than they did a year ago... ECS and Christian Brothers will have better teams than McCallie from the West and BGA is probably better than McCallie from the middle...
I haven't seen any other D2 teams outside of Memphis but I do think CBHS is the team to beat. They always are. If I remember right they swept through last years state tourney without breaking a sweat. I wouldn't be shocked if they do it again.

Christian Brothers High School is ranked in the top 25 nationally, so are they the best???
-
Frankly we don`t get much news about Memphis teams in West TN (outside of Shelby County) What high schools are those kids from?
Baker-Cordova High School
Crawford- Harding Academy
Whitney- Homeschool
Brown- ECS
Packer- Christian Brothers

If your listing the best pitchers in west TN, you can't leave out those guys from Memphis.
Nathan Baker (Ole Miss)
Shay Crawford (Birmingham Southern)
Tyler Whitney (Mississippi St)
Matt Packer (Virgina)
Houston Brown (Southern Miss)
Oh yes.. and all lefties

Shay is one of the top lefthanded pitchers in the state of Tennessee. He signed with Birmingham Southern in the fall, but he isn't playing for Harding Academy in Memphis this spring. Anyone know why???
