1. QUOTE(Redtwin @ May 9 2007 - 01:24 PM) 826455519The majority of the coaches in the TSLA would probably agree with John on that one. What benefit would the TSSAA bring other than more compications and red tape. Lacrosse has been a much more established sport in NC for 25 years. There are also several Division 1,2 & 3 colleges that play there that help promote the sport. GA has seen aboslutely very little growth after being sanctioned. Most of the schools playing in Atlanta were already playing before it was sanctioned. There are still very few public schools playing in GA and no one plays outside of the Atlanta area. The TSLA has done a great job of growing the sport in TN.

I bet your right that most of the PRIVATE school coaches are against it. If TSSAA got involved it would provide equal opportunity for ALL schools to have a fully operational lacrosse Team and Staff. This would give funding to the schools who are not as fortunate as some of the private schools. With this happening it would create more competition for these powerhouse lacrosse programs we have now, and possibly take away their elite status. That is why these coaches are against it. I am totally for it, and I believe you would see a HUGE growth in Tennessee, if lacrosse was sanctioned.

  2. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 1 2007 - 06:37 PM) 826449383I played with Rob in middle school on the West Knox team. I never thought he was good then, but he is a little better now, but by no means the best. I haven't seem him play this year but in middle school he didn't even seem to have alot of potential. When I saw the West Knox/Farragut game last year he was alright but it looked like the Farragut people were just shooting the ball right at him and he didn't have to move at all to get the ball. IMO he is alright but def. not the best.

Didn't he let 18 in from Franklin? What about Catterton(bhs) and Negley(fhs). I think both of them are by far the best in D2.

  3. I think Little deserved it...He did great things with that team coming from a D-2 program. Harvey didn't really do anything outside the box...Not to take anything away from him. He has a GREAT program at MBA, but I think the award should be based on more than your record.

  4. Wow......Well I don't hink I am the first to say this but.......Where to start??? The first thing is....Livelax99, I think iamavolzfan was responding to the first quote...I didn't find your post offensive at all, just stating facts. I hope I am correct on this matter.

Second, ballasofdasouf, I have noticed you have not tried to defend your comments that you so abruptly stated. I would suggest that you do identify what your purpose is and who exactly you represent. I am sure this was just a ploy to get some hype up for the Williamson County games, and we all appreciate your efforts. I think I speak for all of us when I say, their is plenty of hype in Williamson County Lacrosse, and that goes for all Williamson County Sports. Your negative posts are not needed to boost this hype anymore, and at no time should you ever say a team is "garbage". Any kid out there doing his best and having fun with his teammates does not deserve that. Thats what team sports are all about, no matter who is winning or losing. I suggest you keep your comments to yourself next time you get the urge. Franklin has grown into a fine team, and I hope the best for them. We will find out who the best teams are May 19-20.

  5. DI final four? whoa whoa whoa

    [/quot

Is that really a question??? Its the same every year.....MBA MUS Mcallie Ravenwood, I predict Ravenwood with the trophy this year.

Carrying on the Franklin conversation though, honestly those boys are just in the zone this season. Whoever said Ravenwood by 10, is seriously mistaken. In my opinion, Franklin is a lock for D-2 championship, and a lock for moving to D-1 next year, even though they lose 15-20 seniors.

Another thought, instead of the talk of having 1 division, why not do a third division. That way you would have all of the start up and second year teams a division where there would be competive with eachother and you wouldn't have the 26-0 blow outs.

  6. QUOTE(24/7lax @ Mar 30 2007 - 11:00 PM) 826426945If Franklin is so good, why aren't they in Division 1. It seems like the TSLA should look into that.

Franklin is good. They have great athletes and are well coached. They probably should be in D-1, but who have they played so far this year? Also the talent in D-2 dropped off by far from last year. It will be interesting to see how they finish this year. If you look at the schedule, its possible that they could only lose one game. If that happens, I don't see how they could stay in D-2 next year. I believe a back to back championship is eminent!

  7. QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ Mar 5 2007 - 07:25 PM) 826400998I think Farragut @ Ravenwood will be a good game. I hear Ravenwood is basically all seniors.

Ill pick Farragut in a HUGE upset. i gotta stick with my team.

Yes most the starters are seniors....That is exactly why it will be a blow out. Next year will be a different story.

  8. QUOTE(BankofDad @ Feb 16 2007 - 09:15 AM) 826374309

I hate they dropped Brentwood from the schedule. Traditional Rival and all. You would think they would keep that game.

I think Houston lost a lot of seniors. Does anyone know how good they will be this year?

They didn't drop Brentwood on the schedule, Brentwood dropped them. No idea why though.

  9. I think Ravenwood will put out a strong showing this year. Could go all the way in fact.Next year they lose 17 seniors, majority of them starters. MBA, Mcallie, and MUS will be there as usual.

As for D-2,this season will be a mess. Franklin will be strong, Cookeville could be a contender, as for Brentwood....besides their goalie, I don't think they have any talent left on the team, this will be a rebuilding year for them. I am calling Franklin, Cookeville, West Knox, Lausanne Collegiate.
