Jeff, I know how you feel when our hopes for our daughters turns out not the way we had planned. I have watched my daughter play and work through many injuries during her softball career. She loved the game and played through a broken tail bone, shoulder injury, and even orthroscopic knee surgery over the years. This year was her senior year and the injuries and other issues cancelled her season and she did not get to complete the tour of duty. I was heart-broken for her as well, but you know, it could be worse. I still love her very much an appreciate the years she gave me of enjoyment watching her compete. I am sure Hailey has also provided you with many joyful years. We as parents, coaches, and administrators have to keep on going and let our life be filled with others that love the game as well. Congrats on all the success in the past, and keep a positive outlook in life.

Yes I attended the Martin/ Obion Co. game and it was very exciting. 0-0 until the bottom of the sixth when Martin scored. The first batter walked, but was gunned down stealing second for the first out. Belote then walked and the next batter hit a screamer between the legs of the Shortstop that was also bobbled by the left fielder sending runners to second and third. Carmischa then was intentionally walked to load the bases and keep the force in play. The next batter got a two run base hit with one out and runners at second and third. The next batter send a shot to right field where the OC player made her second ESPN highlight play of the night and also doubling off the runner at third. Martin took the lead 2-0 and OC batted in the top of the 7th and did not score.

Dyersburg High School 3rd baseman Jennifer Townson- Bethel College

Milan defeated Dyersburg 5-2 in the championship game. Milan will be the district champions and Dyersburg the runner up.

District 13 AA in West Tennessee ended up today. Milan was the champions and Dyersburg was the runner up. I believe that Covington won in their District with Haywood as the runner up which will have Covington hosting Dyersburg and Milan Hosting Haywood next week in the regionals. Covington is looking to make a return trip back to the state but anything can happen.

Dyersburg beat Obion Co. 2-1 They will play Dyer Co on Friday and the winner will play Milan on Friday as well.
