  1. Yes wheels that would be Livingston Academy the year would be 86 or 87 we played them both years and I cant remember wich year we were at Taft. To say the least it was a very exciting experience.

Taft has some very good athletes.THe problem is practice time and prior experience. It is nearly impossible to get adequete time in the weight room for them to grow. Also players that played this year will prolly be gone next year and the coaching staff has to start from scratch all again next year. When I played in high school we went to taft to scrimmage and got in a fight that would rival the one on "Blazing Saddles"!I have worked there since 94 and have seen both extremes. They had a kid in the late 90s that several college recuiters were after but I dont think he ever got it together.I talk to some of them after a game and they say focus is a big issue. For instance in a game one time they were lined down seconds befor the snap and one line leaned over to the other and said"Bra,check out that cheerleader"!!!!There is always a couple of great players(talent) and taft is a odd place to work I guess you could say.I have seen staff members lock up kids (players)on purpose just so they could not play in the game that night.

  2. Take your kids else where.... I know who you are and I know who your kids are.... Take them to Sequatchie or Rhea Co. they will become the laughing stock of either program..... Probably couldn't serve as waterboy for either team.....

WHUUUUUUUUUUUUU! That is getting in some chin wiskers there bledsoeB!!!I dont know all the kids mentioned but I can guarentee one of them he is talking about is a great athlete and I would hate to see him leave the county.

  3. I have seen Stone and my nephew plays for them. Their QB can throw the ball all over the field and their receivers are fast. They are faster than any team I have seen this year, but I did not see Tyner. Their offensive line will be quite a bit bigger than we are (my nephew that is a sophmore is over 6'3, 240 and is not near their biggest lineman). However, they have not been able to do a very good job pass blocking and they have had trouble defending the run when teams have run power football straight at them. Maybe they have been, but they do not look like they have spent much time in the weight room, and they don't appear to be in very good shape. Again, maybe they are but they don't look that way from what I have seen and what others have told me that have seen them every week. They don't play hardly any boys both ways, so that gives them an advantage as far as keeping the boys fresh late in the game, but also means some are not on the field that could be at times. All in all, they are improved over last year, but if we get pressure on the QB from our Defensive line without having to blitz and try to play man on their receivers, and line up on offense and take it straight to them physically, Bledsoe gets the win by a couple of scores. If we give them time to throw and try to out run and out athlete them, it could end up being a long night. I am going to make my prediction now:

    Bledsoe 20

    Stone 7

I think the Warriors will be fired up and can smell victory this week!! They are good about getting ints so Blaylock or Ridley might play big on D.I hope the Smith kid is healthy at running back.He is gonna be a dandy and is a gamechanger! As for the score I will say:

    Bledsoe-18

    Stone-12

  4. I think we get the point that your from wheeler mountain. But what does that have anything to do with BC_Warriorhead asking him?

Warriorhead, he owns a auto body shop out there by country cupboard.

Didnt intend for that to be wrote 3 times! DOnt know what happened. No big deal on the comment.Just curious myself!

  5. Let me answer your question with one of my own. What did me asking RedHotz a question have to do with you?

Simply curious, it had nothing to do with his situation.

Because I am from Wheeler mountain is why I was interested!

  6. Big question? Are most of the kids that are invovled with athletics multi sport????? Being a small school you have to have all of your basketball players and baseball players play football. How is that at Bledsoe?

That happens alot but that also holds true for several small schools around this area.

  7. WOW! It is good to know that there are others out here that actually get it. I am sure you had to run out of that old locker room with water dripping from the ceiling and was thrilled to do it down at the old field. And what about having to get ready down in that "pit" at Dunlap then running out under their bleachers with them throwing stuff at you and just being proud to be able to go at it for the Big Blue. Notice there are some on here that have said nothing about actually playing or even beginning to know what that is like. I know this thread is about Blesoe vs Grace, but to start building back PRIDE in Bledsoe Football (which it takes to be able to win) we need some folks to remind everyone what being a Warrior is all about. Our players need to know that it is more than "just a game" or "something to do on Friday night". When these things start to happen and we start building PRIDE back into the Big Blue, then teams like Grace will be back to being considered "off weeks". Someone made the comment about "living in the past", "if you don't know where you've been, how do you know how to get where you want to go".

I am not that old but I know the heart you speak of.I can still remember crying like a baby in the locker room after suiting up my last time as a Warrior.I will say again, this aint something you do just to pass the time.Take up golf or something if that is the case. This stays with you forever!Give your all Warriors!

  8. I dont know who the guy was that call the game for you but anytime Dunlap done anything positive he said nothing. This guy didnt even call the last few sec. when we won. That is just plain SORRY!!! If your team gained 1 yd. he was about to come unglued? SORRY SORRY SORRY

Well I dont know what to tell you.I did announce the final score as Dunlap 10 Bledsoe 6.We had the ball at the end and threw a pass that fell Incomplete.I imagine that you were too busy cheering the victory to hear me.What did you want me to do or say???? Sorry that I did not do it good enough to make Dunlap happy.. They did not get any happier on Saturday morning either as Bledsoe shut them out 3 out of 4 games!!!!

  9. Have we not found someone else to announce yet. That guy is awful! I have only heard 2 people all year that sounded worse than he did. They were the first guy that was announcing at the Little Blue game last Saturday, then the guy that took over and finished the first game and announced the second. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Cant let this thread go to page 2.This is Bledsoe vs dunlap! Us vs them! I remember the stories that my Unckles told me about how it was just common knowledge that these 2 teams would meet a day or 2 before the game and just have it out right there on the county line!Football is just a sport??? NOT TONIGHT!

  10. No I am not talking about the officiating, and that comment deserves something like "I am glad to see you are already trying to blame the refs for you losing this game", but I will not stoop to making rediculous comments like that.

Now, in a big game with emotion high, I would always say that is worth 1 TD for the home team. I am sure Dunlap will bring a big crowd and I hope they do, just as we always bring a big crowd down there, but there is still home field advantage and everyone that has ever actually played in this ball game would have to agree with that.

    Go Big Blue!

just to add a little more here.Homefield is worth every bit a td for several reasons! That is the field we play on and are comfy with.We dont have to travel. We will have the stands packed and EVERYONE will be fired up! I would go as far to say even the sorry ole PA announcer guy will sound FIRED UP!!!!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Not taking anything away from the fine 5 & 6 year old players and the effort they put forth in the state tournament, anytime you go across the mountain and win in baseball it is an accomplishment to be proud of, but they did not win the state tournament, they won the consolation tournament, which means they won a tournament of the teams that lost their first two games in the reaL STATE TOURNAMENT. Again not trying to take anything away from the players or coaches, but just keeping it real.

    Agreed.

While you are partially correct it is still deemed Class B State Champs! Check the DIzzy dean website so that you dont have to take my word for it!Right there in Black and White will show that you are INCORRECT! Now to the rest I think that you 2 cats miss the point on all together.Swafford is already coaching and living in Bledsoe County.Do you think he was supposed to pass up the job and not go to Grundy?? Why the comment and give the Bargers the pass????
