  1. The rebels have started slow, but look out in the post season as the new starters get some games under their belt. There are only three that saw substantial playing time last year in smith, brown and jones, but lots of talent has moved in to get the start this year. Smith throws the ball pretty hard and later in the season should be able to go up against anybody especially if he hits his spots. Kee, jones, and carr will also get better as the year progresses and will get their true test in the postseason. If Kee can keep from making those big mistakes, which i believe he will, the rebels will have a very solid number one and two. I also beleive these guys with little experience pitching in high school ball will learn alot by listening to their catcher. He has been calling his own games for two years now and called the games for hayes. Very smart behind the plate. As for the hitting, started off kind of slow, but from what i hear fired up hot down at TCA. Couple of bombs from smith with carr and jones adding one a piece looked good. Smith, Reeder, Jones, and Brown will all be over .300 batting average at the end of the season in my opinion and should be hot when the postseason arrives(Maybe a couple of more players over .300 is a possibility). Brown has started off a little slow, but he always does and will get hot when it counts later in the year like down at the big show last year. Good luck to the rebels.
  2. Where am i going to play??? Played four years of college ball and as a pitcher. All conference 2 years in college, all district three years in high school, and player of the year in district as well as all state pitcher. I didn't say clift wasn't a good pitcher, just not a shut down pitcher. So where do you play? In the mustang band?
  3. You are exactly right buddy. "WHEN he is on" which is not very often which does not make him a shut down pitcher. You are exactly right buddy. "WHEN he is on" which is not very often which does not make him a shut down pitcher
  4. Crocker is the only one that will shut down anybody but he is not a Hayes.
  5. McKenzie vs USJ 1998 Regionals. USJ was supposed to hand it to the rebels. Nobody gave McKenzie a chance. It was all over the jackson sun of how good USJ was. But it was the other way around i believe USJ went down like 9-1 or something like that.
  6. Ok that would make him 6'7. How many 6'7 catchers have you ever seen?? How would the big guy move back there?? Well said
  7. Yes it will. Could see arm trouble if not careful.. i Hope at least 100 of those 200 are about half speed. And i played college ball.
  8. Crocker is not a hayes. They would have got thrashed no matter who was on the mound..
  9. They will be in trouble if that is the case. How many games did he pitch last year? Also, i have heard that he is throwing in the low 90"s?? If that is true he had to have gained at least 10 mph in the off season which is impossible.
  10. As a pitcher he will have a big advantage with the experience of brown behind the plate.
  11. I totally agree. Drew Brown from McKenzie. And the sad thing is he will only be a junior.
  12. First of all you left out the biggest asset that is coming back for Mckenzie which is drew brown. He caught drew hayes all year. I don't know if there is a better defense cather in west Tennessee than him and if i remember right he was the lead off man which got the big double to start off the inning and eventually scored the winning run in game 2 at state. Also, check his on base percentage. Also, Hayes was the leader of the team, but he could't do it all. You have to have a number 2 pitcher which Beau Brown was and got big wins. Bugs is ok but he batted like 5th or 6th in the lineup. Of course you will see good pitches in that spot of the lineup, especially in High school. His defense was so so and when he did step on the mound it was meat.
  13. Drew Brown from Mckenzie. Only going to be a jr next year also.
  14. I am so sick and tired of hearing excuses dealing with this game! Tired of hearing if there was another game or whatever. There has never been a championship series or anything like that in high school baseball. You play one championship game and the winner takes all. How could you say hayes is mediocre?? He shut the door on the what was supposed to be the best hitting team in single A, explain that. Apparently they hadn't seen any good pitchers this year. Im not taking anthing away from minor bc he is a heck of a pitcher, but he just got beat that day. McKenzie are the state champs, its time to accept that and start giving them very much deserved credit!! I think many people would agree with all of this.
  15. This is Drew Brown not Beau. He is the catcher for the state champs and younger brother of Beau. This kid is only a sophomore, if you havn't seen him play you don't know what your missing, just ask Drew Hayes. There is no doubt he would start on any travel team!!
  16. First of all you need to qiut directing your statement towards McKenzie!! You didn't come out and say it, but thats what you mean't. Nobody from McKenzie said anything about them, whoever is saying this is probably from a town close to them!! So don't stick your nose in something that you know nothing about.
  17. Whos care how hard everybody was throwin! The bottom line is mckenzie came out on top! They found a way to win! That what a #1 team does.
  18. Great job this year Rebels. I really enjoyed watchin you all play this year. I knew from the beginning that yall had it in you. I have been watchin nearly all of you for many years and it has been a pleasure. Seniors i wish you all the best of luck in whatever you do, especially #2!! I will continue to watch you all in the future because there is still one bro left for me. So lets do it again!! It don't get no better than this!!!! Great year!!!!
  19. I think that is great. But, it makes me wonder how many of those titles are true titles.
  20. sorry no next week for you guys. Hayes has pitched just as much in the post season as minor so quit makin excuses for him(Minor)!!!!
  21. Looks like you were wrong. Tired of hearin about minor, what about hayes???
  22. The whole point is they havn't faced McKenzie yet!!! Who cares no way they hit a homerun off hayes.
  23. 12-2 mckenzie final
  24. How about the sophomore catcher for mckenzie steppin up big for them at the plate and behind the plate!!
