  1. you are right i should not have compared MC to MP or SP. MP and SP would sweep the floor with MC. you are right there were some PIVOTAL injuries on the eagleville sidelines i thought i saw JoJo and one more guy big lineman injured. and after thinking about it even more i think that 21 points was a little much. there will be a lot on the line at this game and both teams will step it up and play to their potential resulting in a close game. i want to ask you was that big lineman everyone was talking about at the guard position or was he the one on the sidelines. you had two guys that looked like they could both go about 350.
  2. i think that JB's offense is even better at the skill positions, which includes the qb. however, jb took a huge blow to the o line with the loss of three of their starting 5. i can't really make an accurate estimation from what i saw at the scimmage but i will say that i saw three o linemen that looked pretty good. the two OTs looked pretty good especially the one on the left side and the guard on the right side seemed to take care of business pretty well. overall i think that the offense will be as good as last year and has the "potential" to be better than last year. it is really up to them to decide how good they are going to be. with talent like that the sky is the limit.
  3. since i saw this years scrimmage and i say clay last year during the playoffs i believe that i can make some comments. clay was an amazing athlete. he was experienced, patient, a leader, always kept his cool, plus he was talented. you might think that would be impossible to replace but i believe JB has done it. first i will talk about D Fense. JB's new saftey is absolutely amazing. he has unbelievable closing speed and he hits twice as hard as clay did plus he has amazing pass covering ability. someone who reads this please tell me where this guy was last year. i believe he could have easily started over clay on D. offensively there is no way to replace clay's experience but as far as skill and ability goes that is another story. i watched this new quarterback and he had great maneuverability in the pocket much better than clay's was. he also had a laser for an arm. he threw very accurate passes that never looked like they were devoid of power, he made it look so easy. probably the most impressive thing about him is a property that he shares with clay. that is the ability to get up after a hard hit. he got knocked to the ground hard a couple of times and he just got back up and shrugged it off. i agree with bigtuck4242 this years team did seem well led out there on the field. there was no over aggression, the whole team seemed very disciplined which reflect on the coaches, and when someone missed a block i didn't see anyone yelling at that player like i saw last year. there seemed to always be an encouraging word when he got back into the huddle. i always pay very close attention to these things because they show when a team is getting stressed and not playing as a unit. i believe this JB team will be as good as they were last year on offense. and unbelievably better than last year defensively. tuck if you read this i know you weren't out there in that scrimmage because of baseball but tuck you have an amazingly good defensive machine out there that you have to lead and i hope you take it and run with it. i expect 6 or more shut outs this year. that is something to shoot for. GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF REGION 5!!!!!!
  4. i hope there is another big showdown between MP and JB. that game last year was one of the first high school game i had went to in a long time and it got me interested in high school football again so it was very special to me. you are right if he gets a seem he will run wild and he did in the first half. in the second half adjustments were made but he was still gaining a lot of yards and then an impressive thing happened. the players stepped up and started hitting dailey really hard. then the finishing move came when that DT named Tramont hit him and injured him. to be completely honest i don't know if JB would have won the game if Dailey wouldn't have gotten hurt even with those adjustments. this is besides the point. i am now a huge JB fan and i will support them no matter what. it would tickle me pink if MP was to play JB again. i am crossing my fingers
  5. totally agree with you. i was just pointing out that eagleville coaches were not blowing the whistle early so that marco would not run over eagleville's player. i was just pointing out to him that marco could not have run over those players. but you are right no matter if you knock their helmet off or cut their legs out the ball will be spotted at the same place.
  6. i saw eagleville at their scrimmage with MP and SP and i saw JB at their scrimmage with Mongomery Central and after much consideration i have come to the conclusion that JB is better than Eagleville by 21 points or more quite easily. i am not taking favorites this is just what i think after watching both team's skill, speed, strength, and concentration. just a little FYI for all of you. JB's defense is out of this world. it is a lot better than it was last year.
  7. marco is a super fast very elusive player who relys on his speed. he CANNOT lay wood against big guys. not that he doesn't have the talent or the "want to" he is just not big enough. if anything the eagleville coaches have had a conversation with the MP coaches so that there would be an early whistle and no one gets hurt. actually it is very smart if you think about it. and to back up the can't lay the wood thing just have a flash back to JBS last year. but in marco's defense that DT from jo byrns was a MONSTER.
  8. if you are talking about the scrimmage at eagleville then i have an opinion if you are not please disregard this. i was at the scrimmage at eagleville and marco completely dominated the field on offense that is. i didn't watch him that much on defense probably because each teams offense had a super player in its backfield.
  9. i don't think anyone did if anything i would expect for them to be a dominant team this year. even more so than last year
  10. sorry about the late reply but i have been on a business trip in atlanta all week. i really appreciate your honest answers about your team and most of all about yourself. it takes a lot of character to admit your weaknesses and shortcomings, especially for a football player. i am really impressed with you bigtuck4242 and i will be keeping an eye out for you and the players you mentioned. tramont sounds like a real athlete however no matter how much talent and ability you have it is worthless unless you work to make it even better. can't wait until Jo Byrns starts to play so i can watch. just a little FYI to all of last years JB players. i had not watched high school football for about 11 or 12 years until last year when one of my buddies told me about your team and how good they were. i came and watched your game against MP and i was amazed at the competiveness and the fast pace of the game. you guys got me interested in hs football again and now i would rather watch a hs game than any college or NFL game. thanks to all of you for reminding me how special hs football really is. good luck
  11. i have heard about three or four different times can someone that is either on one of these teams or knows one of the coaches please give me a DEFINITE time for when the scrimmage starts. i don't think i am the only one that wants to know and i am not going to go out there and wait for two to three hours for a scrimmage to start because i live almost two hours away.
  12. ok ok go to the thread will TC keep dominating 1A and read my posts there.just to let you know you are hilarious
  13. lets not get into a batlle of wits here because it is obvious that we are both very intelligent. no matter what analogy we use it is certain that TC will not be as good as they were last year but that does not doom them to a fate of defeat. with a brilliant coach such as theirs they could win just as many games as they did last year even if their level of talent is lowered. however during the playoffs when they face superior teams i do not think that even satterfields wisdom will be able to save them. spin it like you want but i do thing that we can agree on the fact that they lost a lot and that will be very difficult if not impossible to recover from in a single season. looking forward to your reply
  14. no players from region 5 going to play at D2 or D1 well that is rather odd. i thought there were some rather dominant players from this region. bigtuck4242 you seem well informed on players skill, ability and size do you know of any upcoming seniors that have the ability to play college ball at the D2 or D1 level that i need to keep an eye out for. if what you say is correct and they majority of JB's team is coming back than there must be some awesome players returning. tell me of the one's that i need to keep a special eye on that are on your team.
  15. very good, very good. i agree with everything you said on this post you even noted that CA can make a run out of the bottom. i am impressed. i think that this region has developed into the most competitive and talented region in the state. this year i beleive that region 5 might even be able to sweep region 6 in the playoffs and go to the state championship. something that everyone needs to realize is that all of these teams have improved dramatically except maybe for Jo Bryns, who are certainly just as good as last year, and it is nearly impossible to presume who will be in which spots for the playoff births. i believe this will be a year of inches where each team will win by only a small margin each game. like i said very competitive this year and maybe even two or three teams that could be just as good as last years Jo Bryns team. good luck region 5
  16. laugh if you want. they might do well in the region but in the big scheme they don't stand a chance.
  17. you are just being stupid. usually teams have only a few starting seniors on the first string which allows the underclassmen to mature into dominant players and to see what leadership on the field is really like. TC did not have that over half of their team was seniors and i would hardly call sending the second team in against a completely devestated team that has already given up getting experience on being a dominant player and seeing what leadership truly is. although your asexual reproduction theory on football is a more appropriate demonstration than mine i still say that loosing these seniors took a huge chunk off of the "starfish" that will take at least this season to rebuild, however i would not be surprised to see another championship team out of TC in 2007 if they are still in 1A. TC will rebuild their arms and legs but they won't have near the power they had last year.
  18. i'm not saying they won't win any and they won't compete because they will but these people who think that they will win 12 to 13 games again are completely insane. i will give TC this they have one of the best coaches in high school i have ever seen absolutely brilliant. but i don't think they will be "dominant" again they have just lost to much
  19. i don't think that TC will be a factor they lost way to much.
  20. ha ha you make me laugh. let us say that a football team is like a person. the coach is always the head and the overall talent is the body and the dominant players and leaders are the legs and arms. TC has lost its arms and legs. there is no way that they can dominate like they did last year. i admit last year they were the best team but this year i don't even think they will be in the top five or maybe even ten. if your thinking of a repeat dream on.
  21. someone please tell me the time the scrimmage starts and how long it lasts, PLEASE I REALLY WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. i do see TC competing but they will not have a repeat of last year. i would be impressed if they won 7 of their regular season games and made it past the first round of the playoffs
  23. i think that CA should be a little higher on the totem, who knows what they can do with their new found talent.
