  1. Two really good defensive teams who hammered each other all night long.
  2. This is amazing...pretty soon someone is going to say that "your mother wears combat boots" and someone else is going to say "oh Yeah!" and someone is going to start crying and someone is going to stick their tongue out and someone else is going to start crying and... Children, you must behave!
  3. So how exactly did McCallie score so many points against the best defense in the state?
  4. Here's what I saw..MB overthrowing open receivers, running around in the backfield being chased by BA defense...getting sacked, fumbling the ball...instead of throwing it away and coming back for another play. BA's defensive line and rush was really terrific and MB was under pressure all night. He looked like he did his soph year. When I read Rector's comments, I thought he was right on. MB has had, and will have, much better Friday nights. Last Friday was pretty much a disaster due, in large part, to BA's defense. What did you see when you saw the game, UofTf? Oh...I guess you weren't there. Lots of big talk from someone who didn't see the game. Guess you were getting ready for the Cal game.
  5. IMHO Snowy was Ravenwood's best lineman last year (with all respect to big Joe Thompson). He's a walk-on red shirt this year at Vandy (maxed the ACT) and you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be playing next year. Luke Stansfield, who is a senior this year, ain't no slouch nor is Nikko Wauford.
  6. Because BA plays Ravenwood next week. BA is gonna beat Indy silly so be prepared for a thrashing.
  7. I have to agree with DogDaddy. Unless something drastic happens today at Franklin, the Rebels will bring a highly talented, tenacious team to Hillsboro tonight...a Rebel team that some have picked as a top 5 5A team this year and several have picked to win the Region title again. Not sure if the over optimistic Burro supporters on here are speaking with their hearts because if they are using their heads, none of them would predict a big Hillsboro win. It'll be close and I think the Burro supporters are going to be very surprised at how tough Franklin really is. You don't compete at their level in what is arguably the toughest 5A region in the state without a lot of talent. The Mall at Green Hills better be ready for their east parking garage to fill up since Hillsboro has the normal amount of Metro school parking for athletic events. Franklin will bring a large crowd.
  8. You know what , mom, I was ready to jump in and defend you but after a little looking, yours has to be the most disingenuous statement I've seen. Here's what you did...your original message was a direct follow up to a message mentioning the kid in question and you used the exact phraseology to refer to him. There was absolutely no question in anyone's mind about who your message referred to. Then, after a little criticism, you go back and delete your message thinking no one will be able to see exactly what you did and then you proclaim yourself to be an innocent, offended party. You need to stay off the boards if that's how you choose to act. At the very least, you need to publicly apologize.
  9. Don't really know about this one. With Ravenwood's first half of the season we're going to find out if they have come to play and who's wearing big boy pants.
  10. And, having seen your prior posts, tired of Ravenwood winning playoff games. When my older kid went to BHS, I was just as loyal to their program as I became at Ravenwood when my younger kid started there. Most BHS fans understand that these are two schools this community can be proud of and support. All except bwoodmom. Your posts regarding Ravenwood border on hateful and Rapbwood was exactly right. You're not tired of anything except the fact that Ravenwood has stolen some of the Bruin thunder in Brentwood. Get over it.
  11. Okay Tigerfan, Ensworth wins the scrimmage championship of Tennessee...go get your trophy from Father Ryan who won it last year. Congratulations and whoopee!
  12. Talk about living in the past. I guess you'll need to explain your point. Ravenwood lost more than one scrimmage last year but it didn't seem to hurt them during the playoffs. Let's see...win a scrimmage and lose early in the playoffs vs lose a scrimmage and make it to the 'ship game...which one would i choose? hmmmmm?
  13. I think I hear your mommy calling. Must be your bed time.
  14. Why so long? Ravenwood got to second round of playoffs in their second year of varsity competition and won state in their third year. If Ensworth is going to be so good, don't you think they can beat your four - five year timeline. State in three years, National title in four and Super Bowl in five.
  15. Catch any of the games between Franklin, Ravenwood and Brentwood. They are almost always won in the final minutes of the game. And don't forget Riverdale and Smyrna...that'll be a good one!
  16. Franklin was also in Murphy Fair's top 5 in 5A. Did you see Sonny Moore's 5A rankings? Franklin is in the top ten there as well (so is Ravenwood ).
  17. How many ways can you spell "lost"? Some losses are tougher than others but in the end, they're all losses. Show me a team that can "win" the tough games and I'll agree they are competing on a high level.
  18. As I said earlier, Independence has won one game against a top tier team since they began to play varsity ball a couple of years ago. How does that equate to competing on the "big stage" (and what does that mean anyway)? Your region 4 and 5 picks could "easily" happen but for Indy to win the region would be anything but easy.
  19. Independence has won one game against first tier opponents since they started playing varsity ball in Region 6 two years ago and have yet to even play a playoff game, much less win one. Even Ravenwood won a first round playoff game the year before winning the region title. The rich winning traditions of Franklin and Brentwood make them top contenders every year. I have no clue if Independence will make the playoffs this year but there's no way they'll win the region title. I do agree with your assessment of Antioch and Hunters Lane in Region 5. It will also be interesting to see the Smyrna and Riverdale matchup this year. That'll be fun to watch.
