This years Dalton Ga team would have run the table in Tennessee. But hey, does that count??
I agree. Astounding passing and ball management. Shots from everywhere and everyone. Speed, agility. Entire team of all stars.

1-1 Final Sorry I don't know who scored. West got on the board first, about 8 mins in, with a corner kick put back in after the goalie punched it out. East scored in the second half. My son said he had a great time. Some really talented guys out there.
Sorry missed that there was a news story

I think it's a tie.
Found this quote in TSSAA Girl's Soccer regulation PDF
F. Each district may choose to break ties in its regular season contests using a modified tie-breaker system. Each
district shall decide whether or not to use this option by taking a vote from each school prior to the start of the
season. If a district votes to use the option for its district contests, the following tie-breaker procedure shall be
used in regular season:
Teams will play two 10 minute Golden Goal (Sudden Victory) overtime periods. At the end of the first 10
minute overtime period, teams shall change ends. There shall be a two-minute interval between periods. If,
at the conclusion of the two 10 minute Golden Goal (Sudden Victory) overtime periods, a tie still exists, the
tie shall be broken with the penalty kick procedure outlined in the NFHS Rulebook.

The Cookeville vs Columbia game was officiated horribly .. Missed calls both ways. Game was getting out of hand. Thankfully nobody was injured for either squad. But it didn't look like a very much contested game. Anybody see any of the other games and would like to give us some highlights?
We had the same experience up in Cookeville at our region final. Game nearly out of hand. Intentional colisions designed to injure rather than recover the ball. Tempers flaring. Hurt players having to be helped off the field. Line judges mute on calls they could and should have made both ways but didn't.
I hope they get a better field some day, cause the field they have is so narrow and tore up. It has to be an adjustment to them when they go to a normal field that is 10 or 15 yards wider.
Best of luck to everyone that moved on.

Hope to see you next year. Go OWLS!

Cookeville 1 Ooltewah 0 Final

The answer is No. Greenville won 4-0 and in possibly the worst officiated game ever in Tennessee High Soccer History Grainger scored 3 goals in the first 20 minutes of play only to lose the game 3-0 to University High when the officials took each goal away from Grainger thanks to a head official that was not confident enough to make the right call and a sideline judge who had No idea what he was doing! It is a shame that this team of officials was ever assigned a Playoff game. Especially a Regional Semi-Final. Both teams deserved much better. University High cannot feel good about a victory they didn't earn, and Grainger should not feel bad about a loss when the game was taken totally out of their hands. I definitely am sorry for both squads!
Were the bad calls offsides calls? Not funny for Grainger but check out...
There is a reasonable Off side training video on youtube, if you have 7:32 to listen to it.

Squeezed out is one way to put it. I heard Ooltewah was down 1-0 with 4 minutes to go and equalized on a PK hand-ball. Must have been exciting.
We seem to find a way to win.
Coffee County's pack it back strategy was sure working for them. I'm just glad that the Owl's are moving on.
PS: As just a parent fan that doesn't know these things...
What is the OT format this year?
We did the two ten minute overtimes and that resolved ours. What comes after that if it is still tied? Ten minutes sudden deaths or just PK's?

Squeezed out a Ooltewah win 3-1 in OT

Oakland came out of District 7-AAA, which is traditionally one of the most competitive districts in the state. Their spot is well-earned.
I'm sure it is. Is that their record? It's only 13 games.
-
Two wild cards teams that I know little about, but can't wait to see how they fair are Dickson Co. and Ooltewah
Me too PJM Go Owls!
Am I the only one that saw
Oakland (6-5-2)
Brighton (5-8-3)
and went Huh? I'm sure they earned their spots in regionals.

Ooltewah 4-0 over Cleveland

OHS vs Soddy Daisy
4-2
OHS moves on to District championship versus Cleveland I understand...
Thursday night at OHS

East Hamilton beat CCS a couple of days ago. They're definitely state bound
EH is stacked with alot of talent IMO. I think they have a very good chance, this year.
-
Are you concerned that Ooltewah gives up multiple goals to teams like Rhea County and Warren County?
A little, but not much really. Coach Adolph likes to try things when he has five goal leads. Sometimes it is the back up goalie getting some time, sometimes it is positional players trying new positions, and sometimes it is defenders overlapping and making runs.
I understand one of the Rhea County goals was an own goal. Sometimes the ball bounces.
Last nights senior night against the CSTHEA Patriots was a 3-0 win for OHS
It was 0-0 at half time. Both teams played well. The Patriots goalie made many fine stops.
One regular season game left 4/4 Hixson vs Ooltewah at OHS 7:00PM

Ooltewah beat Rhea County 7-2
-
Ooltewah 1 - Soddy 0
HT 0-0
Typical hard fought game between these district rivals. Both teams had chances on a wet but not too boggy field.
The only goal was a hard spinning shot by Felipe Munoz, in approx the 8th minute of the second half, that hit the Soddy keeper and spun off his hands and into the net.
a little desperation in the final minutes resulted in a Soddy Daisy red card when a Soddy player pulled down an Ooltewah player from behind during an Ooltewah break away scoring opportunity.
Ooltewah plays Rhea County Tues 4/24 @ Rhea County

Ooltewah meets Soddy Daisy Tue in Soddy. Always a battle between competitive district rivals.
Varsity 7pm JV 5pm
