  1. I knew that a couple of months ago. There are two home games to be played at Montgomery Central this year.

    goforthegoal,

Who did White-House Heritage scrimmage this year that was tough? I know CA had a pretty tough scrimmage schedule itself. I think they played 2A Stewart County, 3A Montgomery Central and seems like somebody else then also pretty much whipped Rossview (4A team) in the jamboree although they lost 13-0. The jamboree was different than most I have seen in the past as they played two 20 minute half with the clock never stopping except on time-outs.

the other team the Academy scrimmaged was Cornersville, which they beat down pretty good.

  2. Actually, coahces OUGHT to watch their mouths MORE as far as I'm concerned. If you must curse, take your hat off and cover your mouth...or better yet just don't curse. They are teaching kids more than a game, whether they realize it or not. They are also representing the school, their community, and their players. There have been SEVERAL great coaches who did not curse at players OR tolerate cursing BY their players. As far as the tobacco...same story. If it's on a coaches own personal time, then fine, whatever floats his boat, but they are representing more than themselves on that football field and should act accordingly. That's not a whole heck of a lot to ask...it's called sportsmanship.

And where in the world have you ever seen a liberal who was afraid to curse??? I think you got that backwards. Your liberals aren't singing in choirs the last I checked.

  3. Pacifist Liberals who cheer at an uneccesary roughness call, or complain about coaches cursing or using tobacco!

  4. Just because Watertown scored 31 points against Nashville Christian doesn't mean that it's going to be an easy or close game between them and Trousdale so I say.

    Trousdale Co.- 42

    Watertown-14

Of course, I could be wrong because I hear that this is going to be a week of upsets.

  5. If Clarksville Academy can get their offense going early then they'll have a chance to win. Personally I think Clarksville has the tools to beat them, especially on defense, they just have to get past the mental aspect. The downside for the Academy is the fact that Heritage does have a lot of experience, especially on the O-line, and has more numbers on their roster. Both teams have some playmakers so I think it'll be a good game to watch.

Just because Clarksville Academy is where I go to school and because I think they have a chance at winning I'm saying...

    Clarsville Academy- 17

  6. our band plays their loudest when we have the ball.......I just dont get it ................. great thread solomon

Good grief is that not the TRUTH? Also, the fans should not shout and yell loudest while their team is trying to run an offensive play.

Oh, and one thing that happened last night. Don't be a cool-guy and jump in front of everyone in line at the concession stand at halftime, as if your time is more important than the rest of us waiting. Hey, exercise some patience, and maybe some brain cells, and just wait like the rest of us.

  7. I was at the game last night and Sycamore had the game in hand 27-6 in the third before letting off on the offensive accelerator a bit too quickly. MC shot themselves in the foot 3 times with turnovers in the first half. Lohin looks great at QB and would have had better passing numbers if his receivers would catch the ball when it hits them in the hands (There were several inexcusable drops, but #4 make one nice grab for a first in the 2nd half). He's an elusive runner and is difficult to defend when running the opition from that shot-gun, he has a decent arm but I'd like to see him plant and drive into those throws more than he showed. I thought Sycamore got a bit too conservative on offense too quickly, but they still hung on to win. A solid win for Sycamore on the road.

The Hightower kid is a decent back, as big as advertised, but he really needs to work on his conditioning and securing the football if he wants to be as good as he could be. He ran for around 160 yards last night but only had 16 carries and those came in bunches. He's not bad at all, stays on his feet, showed a couple spin moves in the open field, and is a really tough guy to wrap up, but, like I said, he wears down very quickly. If MC could have given him the ball more in the first half, things may have been different, but he barely had a carry until the 2nd quarter, and by then it was 13-0.

  8. No disrespect intended towards Creek Wood's defense here baseballfan1 BUT the Red Hawks defense gave up 80 yards when they could have least afforded to do so. That, along with several missed opportunities to extend a lead that they had virtually all night, is why CW is 0-1 and Sycamore is 1-0.

I see your point on giving up 80 yards when you least needed to, but Sycamore also got some penalties that kept their drive going at the end. CW offense's inability to get the ball in the end zone does not prove their defense is overrated either. CW is young and will get better as the year goes. Sycamore had 9 seniors starting on offense too by the way, so I think CW shut them down as well as any defense would.

  9. Sycamore came from behind to beat Creek Wood last week with little offensive production. They forced 2 turnovers and had some penalties called on the Red Hawks that gave them the chance to win on their last drive in the 4th. It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win. Creek Wood piled up 229 yards rushing, but they couldn't finish drives. Sycamore has 9 seniors starting on offense and 7 starting on defense. Marshall Co. lost their QB in the preseason, and they did not play that well last week against a not-so-hot Spring Hill team.

I want to see this Don'ta Hightower kid play, he's apparently a decent prospect. I have been trying to picture a 6'4" 235 running back taking a handoff from a 5'10 QB. I want to see how he carries his size and if he has another gear. Should be a good game, I don't think we'll see a blowout either way, but you have to go with experience in high school games because the experienced players usually make fewer mental mistakes and don't get rattled as easy.

    Sycamore 23

    Marshall 20

  10. What type of offenses and defenses do each of these teams run. Who are projected to be the "playmakers"on each team?

As far as offense I believe they both have a multiple-I type offense. I don't know about defense though. As far as playmakers, Clarksville Academy has a few in Andy Smith(RunningBack/Fullback/LB), Marcus Darby(runningback/fullback/DB), Thomas Leamon(LB, OG), Zac Burkhart(WR,DB), and Heith Dier(QB,DB). I heard MTCS lost a few starters from last year and hear they have some new players, but I don't know any of their names. Leamon's the one, in my opinion, to watch because he's their leading tackler and has good size (6'1 210 lbs.) and speed.

  11. i dont think it matters how many players you have its what kind of players you have and if theres not many players then you have to make sure there in good shape and ready to play 48 minutes

    good luck

That's just like Trousdale County, they had like 26 players on their team and they ended up winning the state playoffs. I wouldn't count any team with low numbers out.

  12. I'm going to give Clarksville Academy some credit. You all may not think they are a contender, but I played on their team last year. They've got a good linebacker in Sophmore Thomas Leamon who had some 12+ tackle games last year and some potential talent on offense in the running backs. All I know is that they need a Quarterback who can lead the team. Their is a Freshmen in Heath Dier who has good potential and the offensive line is going to be a little better. All I can say is that they probably aren't going to win the region, but they aren't exactly going to be last.
