  1. The field conditions will be fine. That has been blown out of proportion. As far as the same PA guy, yes i'm afraid he is still there. Very annoying and doesn't get

half of the kids names right. Hopefully he won't be there much longer. I'm looking forward to see how this game goes. I think it comes down to tackling. Cookeville has had trouble giving up a big play, but if they can come out and make oak ridge drive down the field instead of a two or three play drive I think this game is close.

  2. Why so much talk about bradley and mcminn? this is about cookeville and oak ridge. Go start your own thread.

Someone posted that cookeville has lost to some average teams? They have lost to Riverdale, Mt. Juliet, Brentwood, and Beech. All 4 teams in 2nd round of playoffs.

Cookeville doesn't doctor their field they just don't have the crew do work on them. They leave it up to the coaches and this time of year they are too busy planning for playoffs. Funds are hard to come by in Putnam co., they don't even have a scoreboard that works the entire game. As far as the game goes I think it will be close coming down to a play or two. Tackling and special teams is what it will come down to.

  3. Here are my keys to the game for the cavs:

O-line needs to give qb time tonight and he is capable of picking apart the D.

Defense can't miss tackles. Oakland will have some holes and big plays but the secondary can't let anything by them.

Hope for a clean and injury free night goodluck to both teams. Most of you have already given the game to Oakland but as we all know they still have to play the game and anything can happen. go cavs

  4. Cookeville will be ready to play. I think it'll be a low scoring game and whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins. Cookeville will be undersized but whats new? Noone thinks outside of cookeville that they can win and hopefully they'll come out looking to prove they can compete with the top teams in the state. Should be a fun game cant wait

    Good post.

    Just a couple corrections.

I believe Mitchell Hill from Cookeville was actually 2nd team & Taylor Hennigan was also honorable mention.

  6. The sad thing is is that is how its been at Cookeville over the last few years. They play at home but still can't seem to get the calls at home like most teams do. Do the refs have something against Cookeville or something? I've never seen anything like it in all the years i've watched basketball.

  7. Any Oakland posters attend the game last night? Just wondering what yall thought of the refs? Not blamin them at all because they were awful for both teams. Its a shame there aren't better refs out there.

But to the game. Coach King really knows his stuff and knows how to play teams differently depending on the opponent. Cookeville is a run team and oakland slowed them down to a half court game which Cookeville wasn't ready for. Should be a good post season though can't wait.

  8. Its a shame though when the talent is as good as the talent in that game and the refs keep screwing up. Keep the whistle out of your mouth if your going to make bad call time and time again.

I couldn't agree more. Let the kids play.

  9. To be honest, Ive seen a ton of bad officials, but tonights game tops it off. They were out for Siegel from the beggining, Siegel was playing 8 on 5 all night. Larry Moe and Curly need to be fired from TSSAA. They were ATROCIOUS. Late in the game Hammonds throws a guy off glass, cleanest play all night and they whistle him for a foul. Like they must have sight problems. Ive never been more outraged in a game ive been at since ive graduated. And TJ I know about Chaissons offers hes definately one of the best ever from the district, I just feel Keith had the most upside by far. And 85warrior, just to point out Mizzou>Trevecca

Ok first off, the officials were terrible, I agree. but in my opinion they are AWFUL 90% of the time.

& that goes for tuesdays game as well. The call on Hammonds "goaltending" or whatever was a

terrible call, also, Cookeville caught a break early in the 3rd quarter on a tip out of bounds

under their own goal & we(Cookeville) got the ball back. But please don't think that the officiating

didn't go both ways. Siegel went over the back of Cookeville rebounders time & time again,

Siegel tips the ball out of bounds and then gets the ball back late in the 4th quarter, & #34 for

Cookeville steals the ball from a Siegel player and the ref that is standing 2 feet away calls the ball

out of bounds on Siegel and the ref on the OTHER end of the court calls an intentional foul?

Highly questionable. The fact is this was a championship caliber game that could have gone either

way & could have gone to cookeville if it wasn't for turnovers and missed free throws late.

Congrats to Siegel on a big district road win.

As for who asked about Akers,

He has signed to play baseball at Belmont University.

  10. Went to the Warren co. @ Cookeville game last night. Congrats to cavs. That said, I understand the talent level may be down at warren co. or whatever, but there is no excuse for not boxing out, and getting after it. Not once did I see their coach yell at a player or take someone out for a missed assignment. There is no excuse for that.

  11. Good season cavs. I def do believe though this game would have been different if it hadn't been raining. I know thats a "what if" but coming into the game I knew Cookeville had to throw the ball and they weren't able to as much. Congrats to Oakland and good luck the rest of the playoffs.

  12. Hope Cookeville has a good secondary or this one will be a long one for them. Siegels going to come out thrwoing the rock around, I HOPE. No telling with the play calling of late. From the sounds Cookeville has a good D, but im betting teams usually run on them alot. We can not run ourself into a hole tonight. We have to come out slinging the rock. Id like to see Chuck McCord get some touches tonight. I feel Siegel is going to wake up tonight and bring the A game. Im taking Siegel 31 Cookeville 21. LETS GO STARS, GET A PLAYOFF WIN.

Congrats to the Cavs great win. Never gave up. . . oh and cookeville shut down the pass. with 4 int.
