  1. Well to be honest Tullahoma was really slow starting the season. With a new varsity coach, things were really hard on the team--especially for the returning varsity players. We really had to get used to how things were changing. But we tried some new setups out that ended up falling through. In my opinion we should have changed things up as soon as we saw how it was not working. But in the Ttown Columbia game there were many correctable mistakes by Tullahoma that will hopefully be fixed by now. I think it will be a good game because both teams want it; it will end up being not so much about skill but about how well each team can click with teammates. It will really be a game of heart. I have watched the film from the first Tullahoma Columbia game and tried to point out all our mistakes and the weaknesses of our opponents so hopefully that will prove to be propitious next week.

    Does't Columbia play Coffee County?

  2. I talked to Davis Nolan today about the weather condition for tonight. He said a chance for spotty rain here and there but nothing to worry about. The severe stuff, which is the reason to move the game from what I was told, will be down in Georgia and Alabama, no where near us, and that's straight from News 2's Davis Nolan. Good luck to my hometown team Coffee Co. wish I could make the game but I'm off to the Predators game tonight. If we beat Warren Co., then it's off to Smyrna if I'm reading it right. And from what I've heard Smyrna started off strong but kinda died off towards the end of the season. Not really sure how much of it is true or not, just alot of hear say. Anyways good luck to Coffee Co. as well as Warren Co. Play hard and may the best team win!

Considering how wet I am it appears to me that Mr. Nolan missed this call. It has been raining most of the game and so now I have taken refuge in side.

  3. It was Shelton, not Ramsey that was personal fouled in the endzone. We ran a fake dive naked QB keep around left end. I watched the film, and the one defender that was on him as he crossed the plane didn't hit him. Someone else hit him after he'd been out of bounds for a full second. Good game CC, but I'm really wonderin why everyone was so up about all these returning defensive starters. They must have still been hurt.

Isn't it enough that you won?

  4. This game is known to get out of hand with the fans. I hope, especially, that the grown ups act in a manner that doesn't embarrass their children, or leave a lasting impact.

Recently, at the CCHS vs Lincoln Co. game that ended in a tie, there were parents yelling for their children to take out CCHS players, calling them by number. Also, the Lincoln Co. assistant coach called the CCHS team a bunch of cows and continued to yell during the game, "Herd them cows" as she laughed this terrible laugh. And to think she is probably someone's mother as well. It was sooooo bad..... The head coach should have put a stop to it. After the game, one of the Lincoln Co. players, #9, got into the CCHS's face and started yelling at her while her coach watched. The CCHS coach had to ask the Lincoln Co. coach if he was going to stop her. When did it become alright for children to yell at authority figures, regardless of who they are? The ref didn't even card the girl. When asked, he replied "He didn't see what was happening on the sidelines". Maybe so, but it lasted so long and #9 was so loud, it would be hard not to have noticed. I hope her coach took action against this player, and furthermore, I hope her parents dealt with her behavior as well.

It's sad when high school sports are turned ugly by the example of coaches and parents. Should we be surprised when children turn out to be disrespectful and feel as though they should not be held accountable? It's not just a sport lesson we've taught these kids, it's a life one and we will be held accountable for it as well.

  5. Using a scientific formula equal to the BCS, it is quite easy to come up with a score. Three common opponents for the two teams--Franklin County averages out a score of 21-17, Coffee County 39-23. Differences in margin of victory comes out to 12. Adding three points for homefield advantage makes it 15. No weather effect. Minus two points for Coffee County coming off a loss makes 13, minus 2 points for Franklin County coming off a win makes it 11 and minus two points for Franklin County winning last year makes it nine. So it easy to see the score will be 27-18 in favor of Coffee County.

Well now, there must be something to that scientific formula, 31-10. You've been close two weeks in a row.

  6. probably about 5 or 6 to nothing tullahoma

this is the 1st time in a while we havn't had a manchester girl on our team

The game did not end as you had predicted. Tullahoma only won 1-0. What do you attribute this too? Did Manchester play better than you expected or did Tullahoma fail to play as well as you thought they would?

  7. Or lack there of... I don't understand this Price attitude that "if no one can return a punt, we won't even put anyone back there." At least Harris started fielding the punts in the 2nd half. It's better than letting it roll to a stop on the 10 yard line. The Raiders played a great comeback game the other night. I am hoping that Justin Owens is okay after being taken away in the ambulance. I haven't heard anything more about that. Good game, Raiders! Play that way all season and you guys could make the playoffs.

It seems to me that until the unfortnate injury and Owen having to be taken off in an ambulance, that Brentwood was running out of steam. The Raiders seemed to be in better condition to handle the heat and with the break in the game, Brentwood got a chance to catch their breath and regroup. I understand that that is all part of the game, but I have to wonder what if there had not been the long time out?

  8. Well, I was off by a Bruin TD at the halftime prediction and the wrong team kicked the last minute field goal. This was a great game once everyone started making plays. The first quarter was a little dissappointing, but it was the first game. CC made up for their turnovers in the second half and only allowed a field goal. The Bruins had a good QB & RB... If the Raider defense could have stopped the run a little more, they could have won this one. If they would have played the whole game like they did in the second half, they would have won also. I am content with a 3 point victory by Brentwood. It just goes to show how much improved the team is over last year. Special teams scare me a bit, but you can't win 'em all.

Did you see any Raider that has greatly improved over last year and did anyone catch you off guard and surprise you? Also, will you educate me in the ways of CoachT. and explain this photo that adjoins your name, that too which I am unfamilar with?

  9. Can't wait until the CCHS versus Lincoln County game. There will be alot of animosity between the two squads.

The Coffee Pot will be held in Tullahoma this year. Raiders may be in trouble though, they've had some key players break some bones this week during practice.
