  1. I did not feel that the Hawks were going to lose this one, but am proud they won by the margin that they did. No one has given the Hawks credit all year and I'm sure that won't change. This team doesn't back down or give up and its nice to see that. Jontamion Forrest is a great player and deserve a lot of the offensive credit, however, there are 10 other guys on the field with him, and I'm sure he'd be the first one to tell you that. I've said it before, this team is a great group of kids.
  2. I look forward to seeing this game this week. Hope South Side comes out strong, as in the JCM game. Good luck South Side!
  3. This one is actually the game to be at! GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Too funny!! Great reponse!!!!!!!!!!! And, its the truth! No BS there!
  5. There has already been one thread started about this game, however, I think South Side will win this one if they play like they did against JCM. They are a really strong team, and as long as they do not under-estimate their opponent, I think they can do it. SS 28 - FW 7
  6. I agree. I think the outcome probably would've been the same. But, those officials really need to go back to school. A lot of their problems come from the fact they don't know the game!!
  7. South Side won 21-12. Great game. Both teams looked great. Officiating was terrible though. Good luck next week Hawks!
  8. Just wondered what everyone thinks about this match up? Should be a good game!
  9. Last night's very late game with JCM was a tough battle for the Hawks and they really shined last night. The defense definitely stepped up last night. I'm very proud of them. Let's keep it up!
  10. South Side's Jontamion Forrest/RB................Plus there are several defensive players from South Side who are really good. Defense never gets enough credit.
  11. The excuses have already started, so sad.
  12. Not being cocky. Actually, you are mistaken. As for the kids going to college, several of those you mentioned never finished or transferred and didn't play. As for Arment, no, don't know him personally, but have seen him play for several years. Of course, we will see. But, they need not compare themselves to other players to be a good team. Seems like most everyone else is putting the cart before the horse when they compare them to other players. Let them be themselves and support them for it. Let others give them compliments and mean it.
  13. I think both of these teams are good. I hope its a great game. I hope its fair. May the best team win. This is not regional, but its definitely a big rivalry with all its bragging rights. Good luck and may all the players be safe and unharmed!
  14. You are right, Arment is no Towater, he's better. He's smart and thinks fast on his feet and has a better arm. I was around to see the 2000 team and I don't think they were any better, defensively, but I do think they were better offensively. The only one who went to college and continued to play all four years was Brent McNeal and maybe Myles. The rest either didn't finish, got hurt, etc. I don't think offers is what makes a player, its the actual player! The 2002 team got offers, but most several of the kids couldn't get accepted due to low ACT scores. Nonetheless, this is a great team. A great group of kids who really know what a "team" is and that is a lot to be proud of.
  15. They shouldn't look past any team.............Give "heck" Indians!
  16. Probably not. Crockett County has this one hands down!
  17. Big_Mike, who's name? As for the cheap shots, I'm sure all teams have their share, including South Side, but it wasn't a constant all night long........as was seen in the tapes of Friday night's game.
  18. I think SS comes in to this game angry as well. They are tired of the dirty playing and ready to play some football. Never underestimate their defense either. They can be pretty explosive. The offense will have to step up this week I think, moreso than the defense. I think it will be close in the first half, but south side takes it away in the 2nd.
  19. It remains to be seen, actually. SS has been running 2 sometimes 3 deep (meaning the back ups are getting action) and I think can fill that spot. #66 will be missed, let's just hope his replacement can step up. I think they will have some adjustments to make this week in practice, but will look as good as ever come Friday night.
  20. I hope so too. Let's get back to playing football. No cheap shots. No cheap talk.
  21. I hope so too. Its going to be fun watching all of this unfold! Let's hope we see both teams there. As for Arment, I would say he's as good as Towater or Hych. He's smaller, but he's as tough and he is smart. He can definitely think his way through some "traffic jams"!!!! Good luck!
  22. Yes, this player is a senior. They did insert a rod in emergency surgery from what I have been told. It's a tough break, in more ways than one.
