Jackson sends its thoughts and prayers to both families. Though heat may not have caused this tragedy, maybe it will keep these coaches mindful of what could happen. Sounds like this coach cared for his players. My thoughts and prayers are with him and all the players, students, families and friends. God bless.

I pretty much agree. #45 is good, but only as good as those around him, plus he gets attitude which tends to shut him down sometimes. Don't count SS out, but see them right in the middle this year. I don't think you will see a team as connected as last year's team. Doesn't mean SS won't win any games, because they have some fighters left on the team this year. Good luck!

Don't think SS has much of a team this year. Losing most of their starters on offense and especially defense. I see Lexington and Bolivar being strong. But, no one really knows until the season gets started. Good luck to them all!

Thanks.........after talking with the players, they too feel Giles Co. was one of the best teams they had faced. As for the fans, luckily the players knew nothing about it. They have nothing but respect for Giles Co. players. The fans that were the problems were a group of kids coming to our stands trying to cause a fight. The police ended up sitting with them along with one of set of grown ups/parents/whatever. Of course, it didn't dampen our spirits, I just think it was sad for anyone to behave in that manner. Yes, I heard those comments as well and I agree with you. HE is a class act. Hopefully GC will realize what they have and not run him off. I also take nothing away from their TEAM. The kids played a smart game. I give credit to our players. They played hard and to those who made mistakes, they are beating themselves up right now. To those who didn't and played a hard fought game, especially a few of the defensive players who made sure this week they couldn't be totallly to blame, my hat is off to all of you! Great job South Side. You should be proud! Big Mke and South Side fan, keep supporting your team.

Actually you are naive. But a sore loser I'm not. I was very proud of our team. We have nothing to be sore about. I agree with you, the coaching edge did go to GC. Coaching wise, I take nothing away from them. They did their homework and it showed....No one, most especially me, is arguing that. Nor am I bitter. Again, its a class issue.....you have none.

Until last night, I would not have agreed with you, but when the fans in the stands all around can tell what's going to happen, you would think the coaches would!

I must say, South Side played a great game, but turnovers is what cost them the game. Plain and simple. As for the GC fans....I will have to say they were by far the trashiest fans we have seen this year. Tacky, Tacky, Tacky! But, if the people on here were any indication, we really should've expected that. Great game South Side players. Great game Giles Co players. You did a great job, both teams. South Side had some stupid mistakes and Giles Co. had some smart plays. That's basically what it came down to. South Side Fans.......Thanks for being so wonderful all year long. You have tact, loyalty, and above all, you are gracious and and a real "class act."

Bitter has nothing to do with the coaching edge and everything to do with you. Wow, guess what? Wrong again.....Not a parent, just a very interested SS fan. I know a lot of people with kids on this team, though. Fans talking trash, whether for or against South Side, is not for me. I would not trash the other side. They are a good team. I just favor South Side and always will. I am hoping SS will win, but I do think it will be a closer game!

I agree with you. Let's hope you are right. The kids do bring it every week. We will see if this coaching staff really has what it takes to get the job done, to win! They can't just tell the kids "you didn't play hard enough", you have to be able to help them adjust and do what needs to be done on the field. These kids have played hard all season and Friday will be no exception. Time will tell! See everyone Friday! Go South Side!

I totally agree. SS is a great team and hopefully they will come out and play like a team. I'm sure Hayes is working on the passing game. I think SS let themselves get a little comfortable after their 10-0 win. You could tell in the 4th qtr last week that the SS of "old" was coming back. They got a wake up call. You are right and it makes them dangerous, I just hope South Side realizes that. No, I don't think its a blow out, by any means. Close game, tough game, with South Side barely winning..........
