  1. Yeah, I knew they were playing a JV schedule but I've heard that it's more like a varsity-JV mix and they're paying the teams that will play them on their off weeks, just what I heard, not really sure, but thanks for posting and letting me know
  2. I've seen that Stone Memorial hasn't been added to CoachT so it's kind of hard to keep up with their games so I was wondering if anyone knew what happened in this game last night?
  3. After seeing Harrison Smith in the KOC football jamboree with his 57 yard touchdown reception and 2 interceptions I'm starting to think you could make a valid arguement that Smith may be the best prospect in Tennessee. Any opinions?
  4. I commend you on that pick. I myself would also take the Bulldogs in this one although I wouldn't mind seeing my Jets pull this one off and get this season off to a good start. Go Jets!!!!
  5. The Cumberland County High School Jets travel to Knoxville to take on the Bulldogs of Bearden. Bearden looks to be a pretty solid team this year, even more so after adding legendary coach Bill Wilson, and will be looking to make the playoffs once again. The Jets however seem to be one giant question mark having added a new coach, Tony Schultz, and it is yet to be seen just how much talent this team has lost to neighboring Stone Memorial High School. So I guess the question is will this be a close game or will Bearden win in a runaway? Any thoughts?
  6. The Fulton Falcons look to be tougher than ever in 2006 and should find themselves in the hunt for yet another state title. This team is very quick and very talented beginning with their one-two punch in the backfield in QB Jock Stinson and RB Dennis Rogan. How much better will Stinson be and can anyone stop Dennis Rogan? Stinson may be young (only a Sophmore) but he mans the field better than most upperclassmen could ever dream of doing. He also has a nice arm and is pretty accurate, but how much better will he be in 2006? Next, we have Dennis Rogan. This man needs no introduction as he is probably the most talented back in east Tennesse. Week in week out he continues to be nearly unstoppable and this year should be no different. Outside of Stinson and Rogan the Falcons also have a big physical line that is led by none other than the 6' 6" 311 lb. Charles Wiley-Gatewood. The Falcons seem to be set on both sides of the ball and should have no real competition in 2-3A outside of the Fighting Irish of Catholic. Austin-East is a good team as is Anderson Co. but I see neither posing a great threat to the mighty Falcons. The Falcons however will get a test early on as they battle AE and Alcoa back to back. The Fulton-Alcoa match-up may be the most intriguing on the slate in east Tennessee. Although the outcome of the game will make no difference in the Falcons bid for a state title, a W could boost confidence immensely making the Falcons nearly unbeatable from that point on. We will soon see just how tough this team really is and how far they can actually go as the season kicks off for the Falcons on Aug. 25 against inner-city rival Austin-East. But as for now, how far do you think this team will go? Give me your best predictions....
  7. I would have to say this is more than likely the best "Week 0" matchup in Knox Co. I'm thinking West has the better team and should win this game but then again Webb always seems to have a tough disciplined team. This one should go down to the wire with West winning a close game.....I'd say something like 24-16.
  8. Yeah, I would have to say that I agree with that, but I do have to say they look much more solid this year, I don't think they're QB is going to throw and interception every other pass but I could settle on 3-7, they should be able to handle Clinton and Gibbs and I would think they had a decent shot at Lenoir City. No Hightower. I'm not sure I'd rule out Carter either, but I'm not sure about them except that I know they lost a lot of players including Stanton, Taylor, and Littlejohn, but we'll see about that one so as for now I'll settle with 3-7.
  9. Does anyone have any idea what the SMHS football schedule is like and can anyone explain how if they're playing a JV schedule they're playing on Friday nights? I'm kinda puzzled on that one.
  10. I saw SD at the KOC football jamboree Friday night and saw some strong points with the Cherokees. They seem to have some young talent that could be molded into something. But the question is will that talent be molded this year or somewhere down the line? This year, unlike last, the offense seemed to have some kind of an ability to actually stay on the field and give their defense a rest. In one quarter of play last year the Kees would have turned the ball over atleast twice but they seemed to do rather well maintaining posession. However, South Doyle does not appear to have a great signal caller in Johnathon Mitchell. The kid seemed to have a good head on his shoulders and completed some nice passes due to good decision making but has no arm strength whatsoever. But aside from that the backfield and receiving corps seem to be a solid, fairly talented bunch for SD. The defense though, well........that is another story. They showed some ability to stop the run game but there were many holes in the secondary that the opposing QB found and punished them for their careless mistakes. The Cherokees just seem to be big play prone. They hold for a few then the other team always seems to find a way to bust one wide open. SD will also find themselves oversized this year as well. They were pretty small at all positions. But getting to the point now what is everyones prediction on the Cherokees this year? Does anyone think this team has a chance in brutal 3-4A? Can they atleast climb out of the cellar and find themselves middle of the pack or will it be another year filled with gloom?
