  1. Wooooooo K2R, I saw the Bearden and AC match too. Great battle at the net baby and AC has athletes all over the floor. Bearden has a very solid middle that plays all rotations and she can put the wood to it from anywhere on the floor. But the important thing is I was the prettiest thing in the gym!!! Nature Boy Out
  2. I simply expressed my opinion. What “facts” do you dispute? Instead of generalizing, please be specific. My perception of you is based on what I read in your posts. I know that words are funny things, but yours seem to be generally negative. I am not the personality police and I really don’t care if you are cynical or not. I responded (regretfully) to your comments to me. The Nature Boy has got to go. I have a tanning bed appointment. It is so hard to be the women’s pet and the men’s threat all of the time. Wooooooooo!
  3. I agree with your assessment of the haves and have nots. As I have said before, volleyball is unfortunately a white collar sport. Club ball is not cheap by any means. However, it seems that club ball is the only way to really develop unless you play for one of the elite teams in the state. Even then, club ball is becoming more and more critical to develop the skills needed to play competitively in high school and college. I want so desperately to respond D-Juice, but it is not worth it. I don’t want to get tangled in the cynical web that he weaves. It reminds me of someone that wants to be successful say bad that they enjoy it when others fail. Here is my new question for this thread: Is D-Juice the father of P-Fan? The national Weather Service has posted a hurricane warning for Anderson County, Tennessee. Hurricane Fro is now a Category III hurricane and the eye of the storm is expected to make landfall about the time the Anderson County volleyball tournament starts this weekend. Keep an eye out for The Nature Boy. Please enjoy the view, but no autographs. I will be preoccupied with The Fromania. Free steak dinner to the first one that can post a picture of The Fabulous Ones (The Froinator and Nature Boy) standing next to each other this weekend.
  4. Good questions P-Fan. Here are some of my thoughts: There is only one Nature Boy and The Nature Boy is only one. What is your deal with AC? Is it a coach, player, fan, parent, etc.? It seems obvious to me that you are driven by contempt. I don’t know if you really love KC or really hate AC. KC is a fine institution, but they should be playing other private schools. I know of no recruiting activities or TSSAA violations. They do have a distinct advantage of drawing athletes from the entire Knoxville area. Public schools can’t (legally) do that, but KC can. Hire a great coach (e.g. Mike Jones) and parents will send their kids to get a great education plus be part of a great athletic program. I also understand that the tuition is subsidized for students that are of the Catholic faith. If true, that is a borderline scholarship.
  5. P-Fan, why are you always so defensive? If you read my post, you would see that I am not talking about KC specifically. Take a big picture view of the topic, and address my points. The world does not revolve around your view of KC. Climb on top of the brick wall and see something other than green. I have to GO and see the FRO in case you don’t KNOW. Wooooooooo!
  6. Patsfan123 has asked why I think it is and advantage that KC is a wealthy private school in regard to developing their volleyball program. In reality I am speaking of all private schools that compete in the public school arena. I am sorry to say that volleyball seems to be a “white collar” sport in many regards. The vast majority of parents in the public school systems can’t afford or must make great sacrifices to develop their daughters through the club system. Many of these “white collar” parents also have the means to send their children to private schools. If a private school is developing a strong volleyball program (e.g. KC) what is to prevent parents from school shopping. This is an unfair advantage. I am not criticizing these schools by any means. I think they serve a wonderful purpose, but they should compete against other private schools. It is also my understanding that some tuition costs are offset by donations from churches or other organizations associated with the school. I have no problem with this, but surely it provides an unfair advantage allowing more potential student athletes to attend the school. Our student athletes and parents work very hard to raise money through the booster club. Such is the nature of a minor girls sport in the public school system. I also think there is something very special about a team made up of hometown girls. They take what they’ve and make the best of it. It is no doubt that THE RIDGE makes the best of it. If you don’t know the FRO it is time to GO and see the SHOW. THE RIDGE vs. AC tonight at the Coach “Open Up a Can” Neely Gymnasium. The Nature Boy says three and out with a long drive home to East Tennessee for the Lady Mavs. Wooooooooooo!
