1. Big Daddy you are correct. LA did have a very good defence and ran a excellent offence. CC appeared to be afraid of LA at the start of the 1st but woke up to another good basketball team. Take the spot out and -well you count the numbers I have. Cannot wait to see the rematch and I do not care if it is played in a barn loft. The incompetent offical YOUR STATEMENT NOT MINE that he placed the wrong player at the line happened at a important part of the game. I would expect a good coach would fight for the right call which coach Rigsby did. I bet LA coach would have.

Whoever this is, I appreciate your support of CC but stop using my Log-In name, and please get your on. I have not posted on here and will not post on any CC threads, so to everybody else this is the real Wooden Jr. the previous two posts have not been.

    Thank you

  2. How do you T up LA???? The REFEREE, I mean helllooooo, was the one who said #3 was the free throw shooter. The coach was not taking up for his player from my point of view... He was screaming "WRONG SHOOTER". Which he was correct but the player didn't just go to the line, he was instructed by the ref! It is not LA's fault that the T$$AA sent incompetent officials. The ball throwing deserved another T..And tell every body thanks for "spotting" us 15 points. I know our offense and defense had nothing to do with it.. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Good luck the rest of the season except Feb. 10. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  3. Ok cchssupporter...you probably should've said good game with poor officiating and went on your merry way. LA was the better team period. Cannon is young, athletic and scrappy. They played well (probably the best all year) but lost to the better team. Cannon does not have a target on the their back which allows them to play pretty much pressure free. Now I am not making excuses because this game was over after the first quarter. Yes, Cannon got within 9 a time or two in the 2nd half but that was as close as it got without a real threat. You all got your hopes up and I appreciate your fans support for your team. Makes for great district play. Everybody gets up for LA.

Now,#1. I don't remember two years ago..if it happened well I hate it, shouldn't have happened. Sounds like you are looking for payback..That makes one the better.. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

#2. It is not Coach Meltons responsibility to put who ever on the foul line...If you would have looked around the place, there were many laughing about it including me, now T me up. The only action demanding a T was your coach jumping up and down on the floor out of the box screaming like a wild banchee indian and he got it. It is the referee's responsibility to know who was supposed to be on the free throw line.

#3. The ball thrown onto the court warranted another T. Lucky Cannon didn't get it.

#4. The name calling wasn't right, but that is part of the game at the home gym especially the student section.

#5. Again, well depending on which side you sat on, LA was not on the ropes and not out coached. Again, our coach wasn't jumping, whining, screaming, ripping off his tie (which he didn't wear but yours did) and IMO drew negative attention to himself, hence the T. But despite that I did think he did a good job with his team. They could have laid down but didn't. You just seem full of sour grapes. Also be glad they called so many walks against us. Look at the scores we lost!

This banter has been good until this afternoon...now I am definately looking forward to the rematch. LA will roll by a bigger margin next time! Good luck on your season.

T should have been applied to both teams - wrong shooter- throwing ball on court. If i am not wrong coach Rigsby got the T. You have got to take up for your players. It is not coach Meltons decision to put whoever on the line. LA was spotted 15 points at the end of quater # 1. apears to be almost even game in the 4th quater

  4. why isn't the big post playing? and how is the sophomore point guard doing?

BIG POST MAN IS INJURED. THE POINT GUARD HAD A SLOW START AS DID ALL THE OTHERS BUT HE IS COMING AROUND. CANNON COUNTY IS NOT AT A LEVEL NOW TO HANG WITH A LIVINGSTON BUT WAIT. YOU WILL NEVER SEE A MORE EXCITING TEAM PLAY IF YOU ARE A FAN OR NOT.

  5. Franklin Co had a Coach Jeans that was dismissed.

Believe it or not, there's more than one person in this state or coaching circle whose last name happens to be Jean! Not this guy. Wingman, I liked you better when you give one-liner statements that had absoulutely no importance to a topic whatsoever! You are better than this, did someone get your Login-password?

The Jean in question is Jeremy Jean. He has nothing but an exceptional resume and record, as well as ability when dealing with kids on any level or age group. Yes, I know him well, but I know and love the game well enough to back or disregard a coach's willingness to help/buils a program. This young guy has the knowledge and enthusiasm to sustain and build upon the success that Chapel Hill has experienced over the past couple of years.

  6. EXACTLY..in person IF you knew him well is one thing, BUT on a public board..not everyone is capable of playing their best while sick, family member dying or what not.You need a reality check.

I agree!!! I'm all for supporting your local H School sports programs, cheering, and being passionate about thier successes and failures. But, with that being said, this is sick! What kind of adult would do this? Who is the real kid in this situation? It is just HS basketball! Let the kids play!

  7. I don't know his family but I know him and yes he plays hard. I don't know why his little brother quit football but I do know that what the coach said to Ryan about not deserving to play was the decision maker for Ryan to quit. These coaches are out of control and will never have a winning season at the rate they are going.

    People:

    1) Never judge a Coach until you've watched he/she conduct a practice!

    2) Ryan is a fine kid who i happen to like alot, however, It is my opinion that his mind was already made up, long before that particular moment. There is not anyone on this board who has played High School sports and not been told alot worse than this instance. So why up and leave now? He did , and thats OK, I still like him. but don't verbally kill a coach because of what you HEAR not what you see!!! You may have heard correctly what was said, did you hear how he said it? why he said it? did he say it to anyone else? has he tried different approaches than this to get his/her point across?

    3) I respect all of your opinions, that's why I read this board, I hope you respect mine. However, #1 is not an opinion that is fact.

  8. I,m just a basketball fan and any program at any level that is 2-60 over the last five years in district play is really not a program at all. It is sorry for the kids but any time you take your 6th timeout in a close game and lose your basically a middle school program.

And who do you Coach for again?

  9. yorkguyoncrack- this is all a bunch of gargage. I cannot believe Coacht has not pulled this ridiculous, hateful, and SLANDEROUS post. If you could do it intelligently, I would like to hear why your views against Ernie are so strong. Explain "Scandalous" while your at it too.

  10. QUOTE(bballrocks @ Apr 10 2007 - 08:05 AM) 826433760Let me put this in a more professional tone. I truly believe that people that work hard should be given a chance and rewarded at some point. In this county, Coach Spencer has put in more time and effort towards girls basketball than any other person or persons besides Rick Insell and Mark Potts. With that being said and it is fact, I think #1- He deserves a chance over anyone else, #2- I think if you want to build a PROGRAM he knows how and he has the network to help him out, #3- He will be in it for the long haul, he is a young energetic person and not someone who may be tinkering on retirement age, and #4- Whether I'm a good friend, family member, agent, or possibly just a sports fan he will be in it for all the right reasons.

I can live with that opinion, thanks.

  11. QUOTE(bballrocks @ Apr 9 2007 - 12:42 PM) 826433068Just stating facts! Spencer is more knowledgeable and passionated about the game of basketball than any other name brought up to coach at either Cascade or Community.

And how do you back up this comment? Do you know all who have applied? Have you watched their practices? Do you know their philosophies? I understand that Spencer is your guy and that is fine, but you have no idea about any other applicants. If you do, then please share.

  12. QUOTE(bballrocks @ Apr 9 2007 - 10:18 AM) 826432932Who will be the next girls coach at the high school?

    Any names of potential hires?

a 3AAA assistant that is very knowledgeable of the game I heard has a pretty good shot at it. 2 more have applied also, but he's my pick-hands down, if it is who I heard it is.

  13. MJUHB you are a coach? i'm not from Tullahoma, and don't care one way or the other. with that being said, you are tearing down the athletic programs as a whole. if any of the sports are struggling it should be a reflection of your program also. you are selfish! you are only worried about soccer-not basketball also. KIDS play both sports so be quiet and worry about your program. you dont have to like the bball coach, but out of respect keep your mouth shut if you care anything at all about the school as a whole. you know, the same school that you (coach???)

  14. QUOTE(BobSegar @ Feb 20 2007 - 06:00 PM) 826381626I wasn't aware you had to take a number and stand in line in order to post on CoachT. Good thing you don't because judging by some of the posts I have seen on here from you Volunteer fans, they certainly don't teach English over there, so if I was a betting man I would "assume" they don't teach too much math either!

Like I said, SHUT UP! You guys lost for the THIRD time this year. Just face it, you will ALWAYS be the small, Hawkins County, redneck school, that can't beat DB!

After reading this, I can't believe I've had something pulled from CoachT before, never said anything half this harsh.

  15. I am sorry about the situation at your school, it seems to be the same problem at our school. We have an administration that is content just to have a team, not a competitive team that the community can be proud of!!!

Would love to know what program this is. yeah, i'm nosey!

  16. QUOTE(warrior2024 @ Feb 16 2007 - 11:58 AM) 826374574

Cannon County has not had a winning football program since the 1970's. They won 4 games in 05 and that was the most in one season since 1995. They have not been to the playoffs since 1995 as well. I don't know about other sports but football has not been very successful. But that will change.

That's football. This is a basketball forum, talk Cannon County Basketball.
