  1. Cole I'd agrue is the most all around football player up for this award. In his career as a Yellow Jacket, he played virtually every position on the offense except Center. Whatever the coaches asked of him, he did. His work ethic is likely unmatched by any of the others and I'd say he meant more to his team than the others on this list as well. Sadly, he was injured early in the 2nd Qrt of W11 and was not able to finish his career in the fashion that he and the entire Trousdale County Community wanted to see. Ask any of the opposing team;'s who they had to plan for and it will be unanimous, Cole Gregory!

If York played East Robertson's weak schedule with only Smith County being a difficult game...which they lost, Myles would have greater numbers too. No one on ER's schedule is as good at Stone Memorial or Friendship Christian, plus Bledsoe County and Clay County are also very good. York couldn't help playing a couple of weak region teams.

No argument on the strength of schedule. I actually agree 100% with you, however the Mr. Football awards as with most of these type of MVP awards typically start with stats. Thats where all the eyes of the voters go to. Fair or not, thats how it almost works out.

I'm sure the YAI QB is a true difference maker, but Just trying to speak what I believe is the truth in that he want get the nod over some of the other stat stuffers.

At the end of the day, this kid and the focus of YAI should be on the bigger prize of being in Chatt! Best of luck. I have quite a few friends in ole Jamestown. Some good folks up that way!

Yeah, could have used another easy win. Who dropped whom now that it would be a non region game? Why isn’t this game being played??

Looking at the possibilities I had for schedules last year, Only 3 weeks were available for a h20/tc bout to occur, W1,W2, & W4. W2, and W4 for h20 had 2 non region rivalries occur with Gordy and DeKalb. Looks like the only date Gordy had for a h20/Gordy game was W2. Not sure if the DC game could have been  moved for them.

So that left W1. h20 played Forrest will TC went to Livingston. Questions continue?

#1 York quarterback Myles Leffew has led the Dragons to a 9-0 record with wins over 4A Stone Memorial when they were ranked #8 in the state, state ranked #7 Clay County 26-0, who went to the championship games last year, #3 Friendship Christian away, Bledsoe County 27-17 away and  1 loss Oneida 28-0 away. Against very tough competition he has 813 rushing yards, 549 passing yards, has led the team to #1 in the state, a  9-0 record, with the team scoring 31.1 points while giving up 6.5 and he has 28 solo tackles on defense.

Great player, great kid - but not a strong candidate to win Mr Football IMO. I agree they played a very tough schedule, and he was driving the bus but I think the struggles in the passing game would prevent him from winning.

TSSAA, I'd agree. Sounds like he is the leader of a very strong team but his 1350 yards and only 31 tackles are hard to measure up to the states of East Robertson's Groves , Trousdale Co.'s Gregory, or Waverly's Stanfield. All 3 of those players based on the post on prior pages are all right at 2K in yardage and both Gregory and Stanfield have big Defensive numbers. YAI will certainly be a force to deal with going forward and this kids sounds like he is leading that charge but I don't know that he will be a contender for this award. Don't know that any of the 3 i mentioned will be either. We are all biased when it comes to these but I do know that when I've talked to opposing coaches, they immediately talk out #6 for TC.

Trousdale County Sr. Cole Gregory (QB/MLB) should be in the conversation.

114 carries for 934 yds and 8 TDs

    51/82 passing for 997 yds, 2 INTs, 11 TDs

73 Tackles, 8 TFL, 6 Sacks, 2 Forced Fumbles, 1 INT, and 1 Blocked Punt

Oh yeah and he is the long snapper.

Note: He didn’t start playing QB until week 3.

Neither of them could play at Waverly.  They wouldn't even make the dress list for the away games.

I've not seen your side of the state but I've seen both Gregory and Groves. I'd take my chances with them. Having them on 1 team would be fun to watch. Sounds like it will take both of them and 20 others just to slow Waverly down. East is in trouble. Just kill the entire playoffs and had them the Gold.

  7. Cole Gregory led the way for the Jackets. Had 23 carries for 197 and 2 scores. Was 12/16 for 190 and another 2 scores. The. Defensively had 12 tackles and an INT.

Jake Fergusson was the key target. He had 6 receptions for 117 and 2 scores.

Jackets held MHS to 3 first downs. Their 2nd drive of the 2nd half was 19 plays covering 97 yards and took over 10 mins off the clock.

Here's a little trivia for you.  South Pittsburg, Oakland, and Alcoa are the only teams to play in all 4 venues.  Brentwood Academy will have to make to to Chattanooga to stay in that club.

Trousdale County needs to make it to Chattanooga, but have played and won in Nashiville, Murfreesboro, and Cookeville. Prior to Nashville, TC played in State games from '72-'75 but from what i know those were at different locations.

Did you go with statsman or find something else? I miss ds sports app, stuck doing it on paper now

Sorry, been off the boards for awhile. I went the paper route as well. My device would not support the Statsman program.

Statman is an excel spreadsheet. Much more robust and better reports than DS. Set up is a little clunky but in game data entry is much better.

I see the price, is that a one time cost or yearly?

Is it fairly easy to keep up during games? Along with stats, I also do color on the radio so I need something that’s fairly quick.

At Austin East we also use Digital Scout.  We've been using it for the last 3 years its pretty easy to use and does everything for you.

We have looked at DS but the developer has been unresponsive to some questions and we noticed that they are 3 or more months behind opening up the 2023 season as compared to prior years. Not sure what to make of that.

Guys, bad news. I just got word that DS is going offline. There will not be a 2023 Season with them. Whats the next best option? Preferably something free or very low budget

Wasn’t there. But new qb is already injured?

From my understanding, he was playing some summer league baseball. He didnt get hurt during the scrimmage this past week. The injury happened a few weeks ago.

Enough to compete for the region?

As RTD mention, some changes from last years squad have been made. Good, Bad, Great, Terrible, All of the Above? Truly only time will tell if a Region Title is within reach.

Obviously the 2022 team wasn't up to snuff in the W column compared to what TC has become over the past few decades. The biggest issue was experience, there was alot of people playing that had little to no game time prior. What they did have though was gut and determination. The 20 or so individuals that stuck around worked their tails off. Fast forward 1 year and those guys have some experience and from my understanding, they are still working their tails off (some even doing it the old school way in the tobacco patch).

I expect all of this to culminate into something good. But as I started, it could be bad, maybe great, or worse, terrible. Truly only time will tell.

You better buy the local newspaper or phone a friend to get an update.

The ink ran short before the printing was finished so the info is limited. And phone service is spotty in the TC hills so here's what I know.....

The team heads east today for a scrimmage and then heading west next week for a scrimmage.

Hmmm.... now that you mentioned that. Last year, I  had a couple of situations that I received very quick responses on.

Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, I asked them a question and I'm still waiting on an response. I've purchased a new device to run it on and just got it today so I have not gotten into the software to experience that yet. May be getting back on here to see which direction you all go and follow suit.
