  1. Coach T, I am involved with Cumberland County Soccer and I wanted to get some feed back concerning how to effectively promote some of the talent in Cumberland County. The CCHS lady Jets advanced to the regionals and lost to McMinn and Owtewah last year. Four girls were honored as All-Regional players from Cumberland County while one young lady was honored as an All-State Player (Lindsey Smith 17 goals for 05 season). We have talent in Crossville. This year, our community has split with a new high school, Stone Memorial. In essence, the 2005 CCHS athletic teams have been cut in half. There are 8 returning players to the Cumb. Co Lady Jets soccer team and about 6 have gone to the Stone Memorial HS Panthers team. We are working hard with a roster of 15 girls and had there not been a split, I feel like this season could have brought some great recognition to Cumberland County Soccer. With all that said, we have a 3 time all-regional soccer player who has earned the MVP award for the last 3 years. Her name is Laura Swallows and this is her senior year. She plays center midfield and can play everywhere. She can read the game and control the middle of the field with ease. Her nickname is the Ox, because she is physically dominant and never tires. Her speed is also her major force. She is also a dedicated Basketball player who will probably start at point this season. I have been involved for several years trying to establish a recreational base in my town. We have a handful of players who are traveling and playing some travel soccer... but for the most part, the players start out in rec. and end up playing for the high school. Lots of college recruiters look at select teams, and by-pass high school soccer. The options are not here for the female players when it comes to traveling and competing outside of high school soccer. We have a total of 32 girls now playing soccer in one of the Cumberland County High Schools and they are between the ages of 14 and 18. With the 50% TSSAA rule that may come into effect, how could we ever field a team without shipping girls out of town? My question is this. In the geographical situation I am in, what can I do to get more involved with positive public exposure for these girls? I am willing and the girls deserve it! Thank you for your time!!!!
