The only other thing I would say in your defense of your evaluation of Berigan is that she was state pool for ODP. That says to me that at best several ODP coaches felt there were 2 or 3 girls better in her age group. I do realize that ODP can be political sometimes, but if you excel they can't ignore you. That is bunch of crap. She was much better than the rest but she did not have the money to buy out the coaches like the other ones did. She made herself be the goalie she was on her own and she deserves respect. No other girl goalie had a season like she did in 2004 with a 0.47 GPG (goals per game)

She was underrated all the way, She is one of the best if not the best in the state by far. And SHS stands for SMYRNA HIGH SCHOOL

The best of all time in Middle TN but way underated Melissa Berigan. With her in the goal she won a lot of games for SHS. She will be imazing in college.

Soft schedule, soft team, not a real player in region or state. We gave them the toughest game all year and we are in re-build mode

Hmm I see someone has hard feeling towards our ex coach, nevertheless I do not know the whole story maybe if you do let us know. I thought all these things were alleged. I guess you must have been on the jury and you and the other 11 found him guilty which means we have to get you to coach our girls...lol NOT!!!!!

LOL Big GExpress, I agree with you, it always seem to be like that. My thing though as you read earlier is not about him, it is about changes that need to be made here in Smyrna. Would you come here and coach? If there was a chance? Do we have a bad rep or why do good coaches seem like they are not looking into our program? That is what I want to know and what do we need to do to make this pain go away.

That is exactly what we want to do but we need a good coach to come and take over the program, you of all people know how it is if there is no support behind the coach. The coaches we have the past 2 years are very nice ladies but... You know that many people did not like you either (most) but that is not important to you or any others, we want results, good ones and we are not getting them. I never said I liked him to be exact, he was right for our program though, he got the girls and the guys to play. We don't mind that he is gone, we just want a good coach to look at our program and say...I will lead you there and take the change on our kids and our program.

We have been going through coaches like crazy because the administration is letting parents run the program. My daughter was one of the players that was with Coach D couple years ago. I hate to bring this up but HE WAS WHAT SMYRNA NEEDS. Hard nose, no nosense kind of coach. He was not mean to his players and he really cared for them on and off the field but he had high expectations. Some of the parents runned him off with their ignorance. Now we are having a hard time to click as a team. If the administration had backed him instead listening to those winning parents we could be as good as back then because we have talent but the current coaches can not help us with their style.

I understand all that. My thing is this...couple years ago we had a great team at 16-3-4 record with 18 players. From these players we had 2 seniors, 5 juniors, 1 sophomore, and 10 freshman. Last year we had all 16 coming back and we had a losing year although we added some good players in Ally Marler, Emily Nichols, katie Knix and several others. We did not do as well as we should have. This year we blow out Glencliff and then we give up 10 goals to scoring 2 for the 2 regular season games to start the season. I do not think it is the kids nor the coach but it is not looking good. Something needs to be done by the administration to help our program get back to the winning side.

WOW, nobody in this whole board wants to tell me anything? No suggestions? I thought all of you have some kind of soccer expertise.

So what is up with our Lady Bulldog Soccer team? Is this a new ear or what? We went from a bad team back in 1998 to one of the best in the state for 6 years and now it looks like we are going backwards again. We had a bad overal year last year making an adjustment to a new coach and the same again seems to be the case this year. Are we starting a new ear of losing just like when Tilton was the coach? Is that what everyone wants? We were in the map of TN soccer for a while and now we are the laughing bunch of Rutherford County once again. Where have we gone wrong? Please people of soccer give us your honest opinion. I would love to see, and I am sure others here at Smyrna, our soccer move back up to where it was.
