  1. There must be one or two good schools in Kentucky. Maybe that is why as a state Tennessee and Kentucky split 8-8 this year. Last time I checked there were no regular season wins by the burros against a Kentucky school this season through week 10. Summer passing league and camp scores don't count in the standings. http://www.hsfdatabase.com/tennessee_2007tnvsoutofstate.htm Maybe you should check the results of the KY vs. TN HS Football All Star game from June also. http://www.volunteertv.com/sports/headlines/8032692.html TN won the overall series 15-9. However, KY won 6 of the last 8 games. The series held over the last 24 years ended following the TN loss in June. TN wanted the game moved to December, but Kentucky did not want their athletes to miss school for the game. KY even offered to pay all of the TN team expenses to continue the series but the TN Athletic Coaches Association rejected the proposal. /sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" />
  2. See the link http://www.khsaa.org/football/2007/fb6a2007.pdf And the 4 seed from Region 5 going 3-7. Your argument has no logic. Almost as bad as Henry County playing a 2-8 team in the first round.
  3. The correct number is 5. Henderson County a Class 6A school in Kentucky also lost to the Knights and they made the playoffs.
  4. Mac. I'd love to wade in on some of this conversation. However, seems when I do some folks get their feelings hurt or think I am targeting their child. Do me the honor of having the Black Shirts do my talking this Friday night. I am sure you can help the OC to keep his head on straight for this one. Good Luck. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  5. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Congratulations to the Cats on the Region Title. Should be an easy pickings game for you in round one against Shelbyville. Hope we can meet again in round two. Good Luck.
  6. Maplewood has a solid run game with lots of speed. Knights D this year, has stopped some of the fastest players I have seen in the past 4 years in 4A and 5A. Black Shirt D shows up and Knights win a close one to play another day. Good luck Knights and believe in your team.
  7. All the nay sayers can stop now. Kenwood 55 Rossview 14 Final Score. Congratulations Knights on returning to the playoffs. Good Luck next week against Maplewood.
  8. You have hit the proverbial nail on the head with your comment. It is not the job of an official to see everything at one time. It is their responsibility to see the workings of the game in the area of the field they are responsible for. That MJ59R is the whole problem. When officials are calling plays on the other side, other end or in another officials area of responsibility, that is where the poor officiating claims come from.
  9. Again Golfen you are not reading close enough. I'm not bellyaching. I am telling what I viewed in the videos of the games and what was heard coming from the mouth of the officials. I take nothing away from either CHS or MJ. Both showed up to the game Kenwood played against them and won the games. In the end all games are won between the lines by the players. I have watched with great interest over the last four years also and have seen entirely too many picked up flags, inadvertent whistles, penalties called by officials who are on the opposite side or end of the field and plain out of position calling penalties that are not theirs to call, and just plain bad officiating by certain officials. The officiating over the last 4 years has been bad enough that I am willing to step up and make a change for the area. That is why now that my son will be graduating and moving on, I will be taking the officials test and become certified to call the games myself here in the region. You see, I am not one who will sit idly by and merely criticize and whine in the message boards. I will get off my rear end and make a difference now that I can effect change in the Region without someone accusing me of cheating for the benefit of my son's team. You won't be able to miss me when you see me on the field. I am the one with the TiVo memory for rules, same as I have in my chosen profession, who will call the game the way it was intended to be called. Fair and impartial to both teams on the field regardless of what the coaches are quoted as saying in the local news. Also just as a precursor warning to all the coaches who read this, the plays stop when the whistle blows and the games end when the final horn sounds. Teach your players to respect the game and its??™ rules. All the hot dogging, dirty play and extra curricular activities to include the lack of respect for the officials and will not be tolerated in the coming seasons. Good luck to all the Region teams in week 10 and on into November.
  10. Again we come to week 10 in the season. D?j? vu, this game again can determine the final playoff position for the Region. We have to stop meeting like this. Knight's fixed some offensive problems from the past couple of weeks. Despite not playing their best game of the year they were able to walk away with the win against Springfield. Rossview took care of business against Portland to set this up as a must see game again this year. If the Knight's Black Shirt D shows up for this one, and Kenwood's Offense can repeat their success from this week, the Knights will secure the spot. Good luck to both teams.
  11. After reading the thread, I have a comment to make on the officiating for both teams. First congratulations to Clarksville on their win. MJ, you have nothing to be bitter about. You have also had a great year. Now, on to the officiating. MJ fans have no room to criticize another team regarding the homegrown officiating crew. Look back at the homegrown calls at your game against Kenwood, and from what I have read and heard the Beech game was just as bad. Incidental contact between defenders and receivers, a flagged picked up for a delay of game call (still do not get that one, either the time ran off the clock or it didn't), inadvertent whistles, poor spotting of the ball, a right foot spot standard becomes a left foot spot when it is convenient for the home team. These are only to name a few. CHS gets a homegrown officiating advantage regardless of what field they play on in the city of Clarksville. Maybe the TSSAA should discuss this with some of the officials in the area. They are pretty open to discuss their dislike for Kenwood and Coach Bauer and have admitted to people that they call the game closer for the Knights than they do for their opponents. *Note* to the officials of the Clarksville area, two referees to be specific, keep your mouth shut when you are planning a team's failure because your ticked off by comments made by the coach, you never know who may be listening. I will use the CHS at Kenwood game at as the example. Home team can't get an official time out for a measurement of 4th and maybe an inch, but the visiting team gets an official time out for a measurement on 4th and 2?, a phantom holding call made by the official on the complete opposite side of the field that results in a touchdown being called back (even the official standing right in front of the alleged hold didn't see it, oh, and it wasn't on the tape either), an unnecessary roughness call 50 yards behind the play called when one lineman gives another a push in the shoulder (push being an over exaggerated term), no unnecessary roughness calls for the continuous extra curricular hits to the offensive players ribs after the player is down and just general dirty play by the Cats (there are a couple of great pictures (numbers 4 http://www.theleafchronicle.com/apps/pbcs....Params=Itemnr=4 and 7 http://www.theleafchronicle.com/apps/pbcs....Params=Itemnr=7 of 14) of Terry O'Neal proving my point on the Leaf Chronicle website, also the crap that #55 from the Knight's twisting ankles on the bottom of the pile are completely false, I have seen the tape. Again these are only to name a few. I am not bitter over losing to both teams. Both of you showed up to play and won the games. However, I can not read these boards without putting in my own opinion when two teams, who always get the benefit of homegrown officiating, snipe at one another when they need to be thinking of the next game. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  12. Congratulations to the Knights. Kenwood won this one 33 to 13. The Knights did not play their best game of the year but stuck to it and got the win. Some new wrinkles to the offense seemed to produce well. Still some questionable play calling. Throwing the ball with a 14 point lead in the fourth when your ground game has been working all night? Could be the running game stalled due to a change in personnel at the end of the game? Could be some bad play selection? Regardless the win was there for the taking and the Knights produced.
  13. Alright, I have been silent long enough this week. It has been brought to my attention that maybe I hit too close to home with some of my comments. It is believed that I have revealed some deep dark family secret regarding the Knights. I only will say that before becoming angry or upset about what I have said, take a step back and relax, then reread the message boards. Not an untrue statement in any of them. Also, not any secrets revealed that can not be seen simply by watching a game as a spectator from the stands. If my comments have served to anger you and it motivates you to seek the shortcomings of a very talented team that should be 8-0, then I have accomplished my intent. I do not hide behind a screen name. It is very easy for anyone familiar with the Knights to determine who I am. I am very approachable in person and am willing to explain my observations and comments in person with anyone. I believe in the Knights and see their potential to go a long way in the playoffs if the shortcomings are addressed and corrected. If you continue to stick your head in the sand and not listen to some candid observations from the people that care for the team it will be a short run come November.
  14. Kenwood Expert 13 and Wildcat, this is a dead issue and it is a new week. Both of you should be thinking about this coming week. Kenwood suffered two loses over the last two weeks due to some very ineffective play calling and some bad bounces of the ball. I would not say that amassing a whopping 90 yards of total offense was really winning a game. However, the only numbers that count are the ones on the scoreboard. Maybe fate will have Clarksville and Kenwood meet again somewhere down the road. Both of you need to let it go and get over it.
  15. The name is self explanatory. I heard the update on Emmanuel's progress at Junior Pro on Saturday. I am happy to hear he is doing well and will keep him in my prayers. Having been through the broken leg situation during our Sophomore year, I know it is hard to come back from and often the coaching staff penalizes good players for getting injured while playing for them. Not trying to be negative about the injury. I just feel that once a player receives a season ending injury, they have to not only fight for a position and playing time when they return, but also fight the thoughts the coaching staff have of wondering if the player will get hurt again.
