The answer is one living on East side of town and one living on the West side. It is a shame that stubbornness from both parties has brought this about. The East Coach must be down grading Tieson Howell's talent on offense or defense . One man does not make a team but sometimes are a difference-maker in a game. Next year East will feel the effect of this move in a big way.

Canefan 72 I was afraid the Howell kid would leave East . This move will really damage Morristown East football for the next four years. Is East the only team who has a rule that a Freshman can not be on the Varsity team ? I doubt Mr. Howell was insisting his son should be an immediate starter but should be allowed to compete with others on the Varsity. East will be losing most of their back field speed next year and the Howell kid with his football talent will be sorely missed.

canefan72 Ricker has the size,speed, and arm to be a top grade player at East. Do you have any idea why Coaches can not be on the field with the players during the summer months ? This does restrict the players by not having someone correct any mistakes being made . It seems the players would be more like a team that works together if there was no restriction on the number of practice days . #1 looked pretty speedy in the scrimmage .

Canefan72---I heard through the rumor mill East will have a bigger number of freshmen coming out this fall . Will they be reporting the same day as the big team this fall ? #40 did a good job in the scrimmage --East will be depending on good LB play this year. Canefan72 --- Overall M.E. had a good scrimmage . The lack of secondary experience was a weak area that will be okay by season opener. Ricker did a good job considering he had not been practicing. 72--Is M.E. going to have a long snapper and punter ready this year ? This is needed to keep the ball down the field on the other side and should be a high priority.

A very good scrimmage by Volunteer--Hampton--and M.E. Cradic was clicking with his passes as his receivers ran good pass routes. The line opened some holes for good runs . Volunteer will be competitive this fall. Hampton has a team that likes to compete . The teams on their schedule had better prepare for a knock down drag out game. M.E. has a lot of work to do in the secondary. Overall--the three teams could see their weak and strong points. Thanks for a good showing .

Thanks for the update Canefan 72 . Welcome Hampton and Volunteer to Morristown East. If the weather holds we should see some good football and a lot of different players wanting to make a good showing . Play hard and good luck to the thee teams.

I hope we have fair weather Friday night. East really need a good scrimmage as the bad weather-- baseball--and track has hindered what I would call a good Spring session. I expect Volunteer and East to put on a good show for those attending . Both teams get a look at how those returning and those moving up will help the team this fall. East lost several players from last years team and these slots will have to be filled. Have a good trip down and back . Play hard and good luck. Go Canes !

Thanks Canefan 72 I did not remember seeing any QB practicing as a drop back passer with quick feet and a rifle arm. East is stocked up with players at the skilled positions and must maintain their condition this summer to compete with the other teams on their schedule. The Spring practice days will be over this Friday and I hope both teams play at their best with no injuries on either team. Go Canes.

72---There was some good hard hitting in the Friday scrimmage All the players were eager to get some good licks . Volunteer will have different faces and make the scrimmage more interesting .Who was filling in at QB ? I hope the rainy weather holds off for Volunteer as both teams needs this scrimmage .

Thanks for the correction " 72 " My mind is slipping . A good scrimmage is what is needed by the linemen and the coaches will get a look at others players looking for playing time this fall.

52--- Are the scrimmage games for May 7 and May 15 still on ? East fans need to verify whether the May 7 scrimmage will be played . It is a long drive if the game has been scratched.

Eastfan-- East had their 1st day of practice today and all is well on the home front. Players all seemed in shape and eager to get it on. East numbers are up this year with the addition of last years Freshmen . The team speed has not lost a step on offense . East should get a reading of how far along they are on May 7th when they travel to Sullivan East . Both teams get a chance to check out their personnel in various positions. On May 15 Volunteer comes down to East for a scrimmage. I believe East will be competitive when the season gets underway.

Any idea when spring outside practice begins ? East did lose several defensive players. I look for T Howell to play both ways this year as his speed will be needed for pass coverage . Several kids will have to step up in a hurry or this will be a long season.

72---Do we have any kids going to any camps this year ? Does it appear any on the defensive side has put on an inch or two and are a step or two faster ? The game with Austin East is a good schedule. East gets to find out early the things they need working on to be ready to compete in their main schedule. Like you , I am expecting to see East field a good team this year .
