  1. The coaches made the calls that gave them the best chance of winning. Thats why they're the coaches and we are fans. Second-guessing the coaches call does not do anything for those seniors now except make it harder to swallow the loss. So shut your mouth.
  2. I would say that 49 to 7 is enough humility to last for a long time.
  3. WH bounces back from a tough one.. they need to get some momentum heading into the playoffs.. coaches will have them ready to play. WH-28 GB-10
  4. as a testament to white house's defense, they did hold a pearl cohn bunch to 12 points all of which came late in the game... that counts for something.
  5. congratulations heritage.. big win tonight for you guys.. can you guys imagine if the split [with wh and heritage] never happened? haha crazy..
  6. The people who post on here, specifically on WH house threads, which consists of about 10-15 people, have to realize something. About half of those people who post are players/young fans and the others are parents/past players + some other people who have nothin better to do. So here's the moral of the story. You say things like, "Get a job and a girl like me..." or "Shut your mouth you piece of garbage" and its easy because you dont have to look at a man in his face and say it. But its cool. Because the reality of it is that yall are living in some tangent universe on here. The things you speak of, no matter how much truth there is to it, is for lack of a better word B.S. There's another world out there and a majority of yall out there arent apart of it. Sorry. And guaranteed somebodies gonna say, "Manny your a piece of crap, your stupid, blah blah blah.." and i won't say anything about it. Because i come on here to talk about tackle football, specifically high school tackle football, even more specifically WH tackle football. And i would absolutely guarantee that there's not a soul who would say it to my face. Not bein cocky, but its the truth. I'm glad that the majority of players do not get on here and read the crap that we post on here, because it is crap. But it is what it is. So you people who like to get on here and talk like your 10 feet tall, just remember.. its really easy to talk that trash with your fingers. But what is said on here has 0 effect on what happens on friday nights. -- Manny out!
  7. oh god... you win a game and here comes all the people out of the woodwork to start bashin someone. we won by two. it was a good game. pearl is a good team. thats it. if WH and PC played ten times this year, i would dare to say it would be a 50 50 split. give pearl credit. they got the talent to compete with the best of em. WH needs to enjoy this win and forget about it tomorrow. the season isnt over today. they still have some more games to play believe it or not. --out
  8. thats tims way of agreeing with you. a little backwards, i know, but he saying that he thinks big country is right. thats all. some of us white house folk are a little stupid.
  9. If Beech is still running their smoke-stack power I offense, then i don't really see this bein much of a game. Something like 28-7 in that case. But if they have changed it at all, something along the lines of a spread offense, then it could be more around 35-21. But who knows..
  10. Me personally, I have all the respect in the world for the coaching staff, but I'm not going to sit here and say I haven't disagreed with a playcall here or there, because that would be a lie. I know the x's and o's as good as, if not better than the people on the field, trust me on this. But what people must understand is that it is up to the players to execute what the coaches prepare for them and when they don't, it starts a snowball. The assistant coaches at White House are top shelf. They will have a gameplan that will win the game, no matter what. But it is in the player's hands to execute.
  11. Tough loss. Sycamore's turning out to be a solid team. As far as criticizing the coaches go, with a team like WH that is under the metaphorical microscope that is the White House community, whenever you lose in the fashion that WH did to Alcoa, then there will always be backlash. So keep you're head in Cheatham Co. and worry about your team and the whippin' they're taking and let the WH fans complain and complain about there coaches. The guys pulled it together after a butt whoopin last week, hope they can keep it rollin this week.
  12. Great game. Still some things that need to be ironed out but overall good effort. Next week won't be as easy. And what was the final score of that Sycamore-Cheatham County game?
  13. I really liked the atmosphere. You got a small town whose heart beats with its football team. Thats how it should be. I like the school spirit that the students showed. No trash talking going on as I was walking out wearing my 2004 Blue Devil Region Championship shirt. But I thought it was a perfect enviroment. The school itself looked fairly new. How new is it? As far as the game, I've already said how I feel about that and I was thoroughly impressed by Alcoa.
  14. Wow. As a former player at White House, I would first like to apologize to the city of Alcoa for having to watch that, even though yall were loving every minute of it. It really does not do the former players and fans at WH justice to have to be subjected to that kind of play. I mean, I wanted to throw up, seriously.. I had to leave at halftime. Truly DISGUSTED by the way those guys played Friday. Looked scared; 'deer-in-the-headlights' look.. You guys at Alcoa (the players, not the fans) have one heck of a team. You remind me of a certain Melrose team from a couple years ago. Only difference being Melrose had a little more size. But the result of that game? 20-14. The result of this game? Please. I can only hope that we forget about this loss. On a different note, it seems to me that this game is a real WAKE UP CALL for players and FANS WHO POST ON COACHT ALIKE. I mean I know you have pride for your school but you need to wake up and smell the flowers. White House is stuck in the 1990s. You can't play these caliber of teams with big, slow players. Its 2007!! If it was me, and I realize its not, but if White House is going to live up to the hype that the fans who post on here are saying they will be, then they need to put down the weights and run. It looked like Alcoa was in Fast Forward and White House was in Slo-Mo. Big doesnt do anything for you if you can't even hit your opponent. I wish Alcoa would've put 80 on that scoreboard. I hope I get some heat from WH fans on this one. Because we are collectively DEAD TO THE TIMES!!! Speed Kills. Not Size Kills. SPEED!! Jeez. I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how disappointed I am with this football team. But I will leave you with this: Fans and Players alike are going to be in for a long season if they don't realize that WE NEED TO WAKE UP and QUIT RUNNIN OUR MOUTHS ABOUT HOW GOOD WE ARE WHEN IN THE WHOLE SCHEME OF THINGS, WE ARE JUST A VERY AVERAGE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck Alcoa, even though we need it a whole lot more than you do.
  15. No there both Juniors. I remember back in the pee wee days when all them boys used to play together and they won their regional championship. All of those Juniors i listed have been playing ball together since they were 5 or 6 years old. Very tight knit group. Been playing together a long time. I'm so restless abt this game and I DONT EVEN PLAY ANYMORE!!!! HAHAHA 1 MORE DAY!!!!!!
  16. I'm thinking that they only have 3 or 4 seniors that start. but they played alot of sophomores last year and their playing alot of sophomores this year.. Some names of starters and people who get considerable amount of playing time: Payne(Jr.), Payne(Jr), Barrett (Jr.), Boone(Jr.), Parker(Jr.), Allen(Jr.), Gosset(Jr.), Littles(Jr.), Ausbrooks(Jr.), Duty(Jr.), Neal(Jr.), Neal(Jr.), Mosley(Jr.), Light(So.), Greenwade(So.), Dixon(So.) Thats 16 out of 22 starting postions.. pretty significant to me.
  17. How much of a metaphorical 'David vs. Goliath' is this? I mean, is it really gonna be that bad? Am I jumping ship when I say that I think that this will be a 'good game'? Should I even come all the way out to east TN just so I can watch my Blue Devils get powned? Decisions, decisions... I honestly think its will a close game.. but thats not the general consensus on here, but its ok.. How big of an upset would it be if White House pulled this one out? Are we talkin' Michigan/Appalachian St.??
  18. I wish WH and Alcoa played in the past at least once so there was some way to compare the two teams are far as style and play against one another, because you can say 'they did this against this team and this against this other team' but until they play each other, there is really no way to accurately gauge how these two team will prepare for one another. I am really anxious to see how Alcoa lives up to their hype because according to everyone on here thats seen them, there pretty good. But I cant wait to see in person! 2 more days!!
  19. Parkers out with a broken foot.. Bad news for WH.. lets all keep him in ours prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. I personally am devastated for this young man. He has had a major injury almost every year since his 8th grade year; collarbones, knees, ankles, you name it... he's probably broke it. Couldn't have came at a worse time for WH.. losing probably their biggest playmaker on both sides of the ball against Alcoa. But luckily for WH, it won't be a big deal as far as the big picture goes. Just look at the Notre Dame last year when they sat out all of those players for some off the field incident and they still won with soph. and fresh.
  20. I can't wait 'til Friday. I am anxious to see how the Blue Devils stack up against a perrenial powerhouse such as Alcoa. Who should I watch for as far as playmakers for Alcoa.. I know they have a good QB and a good TE but who are some of their gamebreakers? Give me #'s with names so I can watch them Friday.. 'Preciate it
  21. And what is your opinion, then, timbdp, with all of your extensive football knowledge, why Light should not be on the field at all; why a player with his level of athleticsm should be left on the sideline? Please tell me that. With hard facts, numbers, wins-losses.. why he shouldn't play AT ALL?
  22. I don't believe what I said was 'arrogant' in any sense. I said I think WH is livin' in the past. AND I'M A WH FAN. I was 8 or 9 when we won the state title game and believe me, it was a big deal. But that was 10 friggin years ago! I would even go to say that some of the coaches are still living in 1997. It would be a shame if this team does not appear in the state title game. WH needs to wake up. Fans, players, and coaches alike. In the realm of northern middle Tennessee football, sure, we are a program with a rich history. But if WH wants to be with the likes of Alcoa, Maryville, Riverdale, etc. then they either need to wake up or get a new head coach up there. I think year in and year out, once we reach the playoffs and continue our stupid consecutive playoff steak, we get satisfied. And when you get satisfied, you start to become complacent. Look at the Maryville's and the Riverdale's.. every year, they are expected to win it all. And when I say they, I mean they as a team, not they as in the fans. The football team expects to be there and anything short of that is UNACCEPTABLE. WH has got it drilled into these guys head, 'get to the playoffs, get to the playoffs' and thats what they expect. It should be 'get to Murfreesboro, get to Murfreesboro'.. Mind you, I am a devote White House fan and want nothing more than to see them succeed, but g. d. I can't stand to watch mediocrity unfold year in and year out. And timbdp, shut up.
  23. Here's the deal: I'm a WH football alumni; 3-year starter both ways; and a big supporter of the guys on the field. They seemed like they were nervous, complacent, i don't know, and really don't care to be honest. These guys know they didn't perform tonight. But I would much rather them do what they did tonight against a very average Portland team then against Alcoa. I don't want to say that "I know for a fact that these guys will bounce back from this one" or "They will be fine. The reason they played like this is ______ (fill in the blank with some lame excuse)" The bottom line is that no one can tell if a teenager who has alot a pressure to win, which is alot if you play under the miscroscope that is White House, can respond or even wants to respond. But I know these young Men, I have played with them. I know they got alot of heart and alot of guts. They will respond. They will have a great week of practice this week and they will give Alcoa their best shot. I encourage everybody, mainly fans from White House, to refrain from any 'trash talking' on here this next week. Everybody knows we're the underdogs here. We aren't going down to Nashville to play the Titans, Alcoa is just another storied programs like ours. Give them the respect they deserve because they more than deserve it. For god sakes, we're still living in 1997, THE LAST TIME WE DID WHAT ALCOA'S DONE! We are having a celebration to commemorate those guys and even though they deserve it, I mean come on. We need to be focusing on this years team, which has as good of an oppurtunity to do just that, win a state title. I say these things for two reasons: 1) I'm tired of WH fans getting on here and disrespecting the game. We won't beat Alcoa by more than a TD. We barely beat PO buy a couple of TDs. I was in the stands and I heard this moron, who i've had multiple encounters with while i played for WH say, 'Yeah, i can wait til next week when i get to see our boys whoop those Alcoa boys effin a**' I mean give me a break. 2) These men need our support and not our judgment, especially from those of us who have no idea whats goin on. And for the parents who have players on the team who are reading this, you REALLY have no idea. The last thing we need to do is get on here and criticize these coaches and players. This was there first game, they're young, they NEEDED this to happen. Good luck Devils, Good luck Tornadoes. I personally wish both teams an excellent week on practice.
  24. I didn't see much wrong with the article. Just some old timer with a history lesson. If anything, he was putting Fulton ahead of Oak Ridge when he talks about Fulton beings A-E's Riverdale. Just what I took out of it. It almost like he is saying, "Why did Oak Ridge schedule a team that is surely going to beat us and tarnish our proud football history." Just dont be a relativist. Dont say "Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but my opinion is right and yours is wrong." Its just some blue hair talking about nothing. Whats new.
